I think if you combined this with that piece from CNC workshop recently posted, you could end up with a really cool industrial area.. something people don’t often associate with Tau.

The guys at CNC workshop really would make a killing if they had a US distributor. This resin piece looks rather dull and boring compared to its Australian, MDF counterpart.

In fairness, that paintjob isn’t exactly flattering the model…but yeah.. I completely agree on the shipping.

Agreed on the paintjob… but even the renders of the CNC workshop piece look more interesting than this to me. There just is “more” to look at. The guys at CNC seem to really push the enveloppe on what is achievable with MDF, while the MAS piece is barely more than a couple of steps from a solid cube of resin.

I agree completely and even with Haibane’s comment on the warping.. I hadn’t seen it. My thoughts on combining the two were to have maybe 2 of these and the CNC Workshop one as a centerpiece.. like two power stations and an actual generator… using the lack of detail in this piece to play towards the CNC as an actual centerpiece. That said (and after looking at the other pieces) I think I am more fond of the TauCeti Habitat and Windtrap.

I’m only realizing now this MAS piece is hardfoam rather than resin. And I have no clue of what is achievable with hardfoam, so the end of my previous post is uninformed and possibly unfair.

Have to agree that this doesn’t stand up at all well to the recent CNC Workshop release of similar design. While CNC Workshop does employ a fantastic painter to better show off their products, the detailing on this looks very crude, and there’s some quite visible distortion along the bottom of this one.
