Slightly different type of story for you this half-hour:

Legends: Fantasy Violin is up on Kickstarter. They’ve gotten their funding, so it’s stretch goals from here on out.

From the campaign:

Violinist Julia Okrusko is working on an original fantasy music album “Legends: Fantasy Violin” – a collection of 9 original tracks to be released in September 2013 as a CD and digital download worldwide. The Kickstarter funds will cover recording, mixing, mastering, cover design, and the manufacturing of the discs. The campaign received lots of support in tabletop RPG community and is funded over 100% allowing to stretch the goals and add tracks and music video with 2 weeks remaining to raise the funds.

Winner of numerous competitions in the U.S.A. and abroad, violinist Julia Okrusko has performed in Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Denmark, Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Turkey as a soloist and member of chamber ensembles. Julia holds a Master of Music and Performance Diploma from Boston University College of Fine Arts, and performs as the first violinist with the New England String Quartet. She started composing fantasy music in 2011, after performing with Video Game Orchestra at Boston Symphony Hall

I’ve already backed this. Should make great background music while painting miniatures or gaming.

Good thing she plays violin, eh 😉

The project is backed, so you can always wait for the commercial release and pick it up then.

That’s money I could spend on another Sparks CD. Never understood the whole music for gamers thing. I thought that was what soundtracks and Mike Patton were for.
