Sometimes you want to mix up the “old classic” style card games. Sure, you might be able to play a game of Rummy with grandma, but if you want to play with just some of your gaming friends, it might not be as “lively” a game as you’d like. Well, that’s where Jynx comes in. It takes a game like Contract Rummy and gives it a party card game twist.
The game uses several special decks of cards. One is made of cards numbered 1-12, along with special cards (sort of like Uno cards). These you play like Contract Rummy, looking for sets and runs of cards, depending on which chapter you’re in. As you play along, What and When cards are also drawn. These are modifiers for things players have to do in certain situations. These are filled in, Mad-Libs style by the player that drew them, and where some wacky things can really take place. Players must follow these jynxes, or be penalized by having to draw extra cards.
The campaign is up and running now and is set to do so for another 28 days.
