I read several webcomics, as you have probably seen me mention before. One of them is Cyanide and Happiness. For those that don’t know, Cyanide and Happiness is a (generally) 3-panel comic with a distinct edge to it. They don’t flinch at taking on rather taboo subjects and a lot of the time you’ll find yourself laughing and cringing all at the same time. Well, they’ve turned their comic into a card game and have put that card game up on Kickstarter for you to check out.
In Joking Hazard, players get a hand of cards that are all panels from the comic. You pick a judge for the round and flip over the top card of the deck, revealing a panel. The judge then takes a panel from their hand and plays it on either side of the first one. The rest of the players then pick a panel from their hand and play it, face down, at the end of the strip, creating the punchline. The judge then reads all the options out loud and a winner is picked. Lather, rinse, repeat until you’ve had your fill.
The campaign just launched and is already well over their funding goal. Instead of regular stretch goal totals, they are doing something different where people have to come up with various other items, like making Cyanide and Happiness cookies for their class, or sending in photos of Cyanide and Happiness plush toys from all 50 US states. They’ve already unlocked a few, with plenty more to go. The campaign is set to run for another 29 days.
