I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

Premium models at a Premium price.

They’re not cheap, but they are gorgeous. I will be buying some although not as many as originally planned due to the cost.

An amazingly impressive launch. These guys (well, the one guy mainly) have come out of nowhere and presented the quality of models and professional business model that took other companies years to develop. As for price, I think this is a case where you get what you pay for. IMO, I think they’re fairly priced. And what a great idea to bundle the custom case with the army purchase! I really like their tiered packages, too. Well done, Hawk!

Definitely priced ok and in line with others. Models are some of the best out there at that scale and I’m putting some of my normal Dust funds towards this now. Mega deal has 50+ models, a good chunk of which are 60-100mm big, with a rulebook, and a KR Multicase that has laser cut foam specifically cut for the deal, and I’ll spend about $400USD. Not a bad deal at all.

Yeah. I think they’re very worth it, I just can’t afford them at the moment. But with some saving, though, oh yes… they will be mine.

  • I wish there was a link from their portal page to the site… because, what is the actual link to get to the information????

    • Polar_Bear

Yeah, just click the name at the start of the article and it’ll link you right there.

      • My cache hadn’t reset yet, so when I went to their homepage, it was the old site. I’m a dunce.

It’s okay, dude. You had a case of the Sundays.

  • EasyEight

I think the figures are very nice, how do the rules play??

  • blkdymnd

    The site is just http://www.hawkwargames.com

As far as how it plays, not sure yet, they’ll be revealing more soon it says. The FAQ gives a bit on it. Primarily a ranged shooting game with very little need for infantry bases (secure buildings and objectives primarily). The game seems based around starting your forces mostly or completely on dropships and deploying from those. Contesting building and objectives and such. Alternate activation, but you activate by battlegroups and not by individuals (not sure what comprises a battle group yet).

I think they need a two player starter that includes a scaled down rulebook like Warmachine and Heavy Gear Blitz. It would make it easier for people like me who may not have anyone else to play right now.

  • Borzag

Well colour me impressed. The site went up yesterday so I wasn’t expecting the news to come up on TGN for at least another fortnight 😛

Re: price: I’ll have to find the link that has an almost accidental comparison between these minis and GW, as well as details. All things being fair, the price does seem reasonable given the kit complexity (people comparing these to Spartan: As someone with a full Dwarf fleet, those ships are EASY to make single-piece casts compared to the Hawk offering). Definitely worth thinking about, just not right away for me due to moneys.

I can only join the general consensus: Extremly impressive, professional and well executed launch.

The price had me stumling a bit until I noticed the size of the figures, some of these are huge. I think that for that size and detail the price is absolutely fair.

What I also find amazing is that all the buildings in the pictures are done by Hawk Wargames. Can’t wait to get more detail on these.
