Many of us think about gaming just about all the time. And whenever we get a chance, we’ll grab a game and get playing. However, not every situation gives you an available space for gaming. Say you’re standing in line for something, or you’re on a bus or plane. Well, Guardian’s Gambit is a card game that doesn’t even need a table to be played. It’s up on Kickstarter now.
About the game:
Guardian’s Gambit took on the challenge of what a tabletop game would look like without needing a table. If you have ever found yourself with extra time in a less than ideal place for gaming: standing in line, on a road trip, hanging out in a small coffee shop, then there is now a ‘table-less tabletop game’ solution. Guardian’s Gambit introduces unique gameplay mechanics enabling play entirely from your hand.
In Guardian’s Gambit, you create team of Guardians (cards) with a mix of basic offensive and defensive guardians and a few unique special guardians. You will take turns attacking and defending, probing your opponent for weakness while finding the right time to use your special guardian’s abilities to gain the upper hand. Rounds are quick, and between each round the defeated player chooses new special guardians in hopes of finding a combination to come back and win.
Guardian’s Gambit has been play tested and balanced completely, and is live on Kickstarter with the full art and design complete. The Kickstarter campaign features the game at $12, including free shipping to individuals in the US.
