I made a delicious pork loin Jalfrezi last night, fresh pork loin cubed, and then a whole heap of veg, simmered for over an hour until the pork was ready to fall apart in your mouth. delicious. What about you Polar bear?

This week I’m going to make red beans and rice. I’ve been jonesing for that since Gen Con for some reason, and this is the first chance I’ll have to make it.

Other than that, I’ve /really/ been looking forward to autumn this year. I don’t know why, but I’m like, “Fall! F— Yeah!” It’s my favorite time of year, and I guess “it’s after Gen Con, so that means fall.” is how my mind works.
Anyway, as such, I’m going to make the first pumpkin pie of the season. To go on top, I’m going to make a butternut squash mousse (it originally starts out as a squash soup, but then I use that as the base for making a mousse out of it). I like it a lot more than just “boring, old whipped cream” on top, as it gives a complimentary flavor to the pumpkin and still that dairy-ness, but it’s just a bit more to it.

So yeah, gonna make the soup today, then the pie and mousse tomorrow. Red beans will be procured here in a minute, and then will have to soak overnight before cooking tomorrow.

Butternut squash mousse! That’s fancy. Nice.

        • Odinsgrandson

          Butternut Squash is so op.

          • TGN_Polar_Bear

The mousse hadn’t fully set yet, but I wanted to have a piece of pie, damnit!
