Expansions for Apex Card Game Up On Kickstarter

Apex is the card game where you look to prove that you’re the biggest, baddest, most adaptive predator out there. They’re currently running a Kickstarter campaign for some new expansions. You’ve got new types of creatures, as well as the new Stomping Grounds set that lets you try and takes your enemies out PvP-style. Only the fittest will survive.

The Stomping Grounds Expansion Deck is designed to get all up in your opponent’s grill and see who’s the toughest. Instead of the normal way of winning the game, you can now win via eliminating your opponent’s Alpha card. The secondary cards in this deck are also focused on hindering your opponents as they try and build up their creature.

Meanwhile, the Saurophaganax set lets you bring a distant cousin of T. Rex (I’m the muthaf— T-Rex!) into the game. Things won’t be easy for them, though, as they have to go up against Stegosaurus and Allosaurus.

Therizinosaurus refuses to be labeled easily. While it most likely ate mostly plants and insects, it still had huge claws and could have possibly ate meat, if such a thing was come across. These dinosaurs disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Was it an opponent’s card?

Megalodon… It’s a gigantic damn shark. Is there really any more you need to know? Except maybe that it’s a Kickstarter exclusive deck.

Finally, Die-Hard Games tips their hand a little bit about what they’re working on next. That will apparently be Promethean Wars. What’s the game about? I’ll let a direct quite do that, since I can’t type it any better. “It is a turn-based strategy game where you take control of a Battle Cruiser and deploy cybernetic-dinosaurs to combat the enemy.” Yeah… Well, before that makes it to everyone’s tabletop, they’ve got a Promethean Wars set for Apex that you can get as part of this Kickstarter campaign as well.

The campaign is already over their funding goal with still 27 days left to go.
