Whilst we are still open and busy taking Christmas orders, we thought that it was a good time for a freebie.
Along with many others we have been enjoying the odd game set in the counter-factual British Civil War of 1938. Enjoying it so much, in fact, that we have our own set of ‘house’ rules for the period which have been used for the odd ‘Big-Game’ and minor skirmish.
We thought that it would be a good idea to make these freely available alongside our current ‘fast-play’ Zulu Wars set. Both are now available in our Free Rules section as downloadable .pdf files.
‘And Was Jerusalem Builded Here’ Rules for the 1938 British Civil War
‘The rules are written specifically with the imaginary British Civil War of the 1930’s in mind. They are designed in what, nowadays, is often considered a retro style and pay homage to the rules written by such wargaming legends as Charles Grant and Donald Featherstone. The rules are designed to give a fun game and the retro style has had added a very large measure of tongue-in-cheek humour and period based mischief. They are seen as being customisable by the player with one of the really exciting aspects of this period being the way the gamers imagination can run wild.’
