Made-up words. We all have ones we know and use. There’s so many words that you might use in your everyday speech that aren’t actually words. Lord knows I’ve come across enough while doing this job. I’ll type something out and get a little, red squiggly line under it, as spell check goes, “hey there, buddy. Let’s take another look at that.” (speaking of which, apparently “spellcheck” isn’t a word) Well, now your creativity in making made-up words can come to your advantage in Effwords, a new party card game up on Kickstarter.
In Effwords, a player uses a set of letters (much like Scrabble tiles) to create a made-up word. The other players then play cards with what they feel is a good definition for that word. The judge reads through the proposed definition and picks the one they think is best. The player that played that card scores points. Pretty simple, straightforward, and easy to understand. All the things a good party game should be.
The campaign is on Kickstarter now and set to run for another 25 days.
