I don’t like that sculpt because I feel is is a disproportional rendering of a humanoid. And my daughter pointed out, “Why armor on the shins and nothing up top. I think I would protect up top first.” Ha!

    Very poor sculpt

  • Soulfinger

Excellent sculpt for an elf calisthenics instructor. Alternately, with just the tiniest bit of conversion work, it would be a fantastic model for an elf hitchhiker or someone answering the question, “Which way did they go?”

I wouldn’t call it a ‘very’ poor sculpt, though I certainly do not prefer it. There’s some really bad stuff out there….

I don’t have any problem with the sculpt, but then again I can’t get a closeup. Clicking the image takes me to the site, and from there I canna find it.

Fantasy isn’t really my thing anyway, though.

I think most manufacturers feel its a safe bet to just go with “boobies” and anticipate sex starved gamer nerds to shell out the coin. I think that was a great business plan 10 years ago. These days with a more and more diverse audience I don’t know if that is the best bet. With more gamers with their own kids now, more female gamers and more non-500 pound living under a rock gamers … this sort of thing is going to have less appeal. For the record though I have nothing against the female form and if I was looking for a saucy elven concubine “wizard” for a D&D game or something this seems like an acceptable model I guess.

In all seriousness though many larger more well established manufacturers seem to be suffering from the same mindset. Lots of T&A and not much else … meh … apparently people are still buying if everyone keeps producing this stuff 🙁

there are too many good sculptors…

Well, it isn’t a bad beginning for a sculptor. And surely some day he will be a good one, but I don’t think it’s a good product right now. Too many things which need to be resculpted or finished properly.

I have seen the website and the concepts aren’t bad ideas, but, EH, I hope they’re lucky.
