Spartan Games will soon be releasing four new Dystopian Wars boxed sets with land forces for each of the four factions. These sets are set to ship on June 1st, 2011.

From their announcement:

Prussian Armoured Battle Group
As the dominant military power in Europe, the Prussian Empire has many enemies, the greatest of which is the Kingdom of Britannia. The Prussian Empire has the largest army in Europe and, due to its mastery of Tesla Coil weaponry, it is now one of the most technologically advanced nations.

Inside this box is a Prussian Empire Armoured Battle Group, the building block with which you can assemble your ground force of hulking metal vehicles. Massive Land Ships, Artillery, Medium Tanks and Small Tank Tokens come together to fight across the battlefields of the world.

Dystopian Wars is designed to allow ground, air and naval forces to combine together as you wage war against your enemies. The models in this boxed set can easily be used with other models, such as Battleships, Escorts, Corvettes, Submersibles, Destroyers, Gunships, Dreadnoughts, Airships, Bombers and other machines of war.

The following vehicles are included in this boxed set:

1x A9-V Sturmpanzer Land Ship
The Sturmpanzer has become rightly feared across the battlefields of the world. It has a fearsome array of turrets and is armed to the teeth with Tesla coils. Sturmpanzers are at the forefront of every assault and form the heart of every defence.

6x A6-V Class Medium Tank
The A6-V has flexible arcs of fire to take advantage of individual and linked fire. It also carries a sizeable complement of rocket marines. A full squadron of A6-Vs can pose an ever present threat of a massed boarding assault.

3x B3-S Medium Bombard
The B3-S fills a close support role in Prussian armies. They follow behind the first wave of tanks laying down a heavy shifting bombardment.

10x Walze Class Small Tank
The Walze is an efficient scout tank, often deployed in large squadrons. With its fore guns and Tesla coils it is able to look after itself in a fire fight.

Kingdom of Britannia Armoured Battle Group
In 1867 the Kingdom of Britannia (KoB) underwent a massive restructure of its military into a single, combined war machine that could be used to strike down insurrection around the world, whether it was on land, sea or air.
Inside this box is a KoB Armoured Battle Group, the building block from which you can assemble your ground force of hulking metal vehicles. Massive Land Ships, Artillery, Medium Tanks and Small Tank Tokens come together to fight across the battlefields of the world.

The following vehicles are included in this boxed set:

1x Sovereign Class Land Ship
The Sovereign is the utility workhorse of the Britannian land armies, and is a common sight across the world. As well as performing logistical functions it is very versatile, with different models of the same design having either turrets, mortars or a headquarters.

6x MKII Class Medium Tank
The MKII has plenty of firepower in three arcs giving it lots of options and no fear of being surrounded. A well positioned squadron of MKIIs can hold ground and threaten multiple enemies, linking their fire when necessary to take down targets of a larger class.

3x Cromwell Class Bombard
The Cromwell is a bunker buster of a tank. Although rigged for indirect fire it has been used extensively on the battlefield as a close range battle tank.

10x Terrier Class Small Tank
The Terrier is fast and agile, usually deployed in large numbers as a screen. In a combined attack a full squadron is a threat to most targets.

The Empire of the Blazing Sun Armoured Battle Group
The Empire of the Blazing Sun (EotBS) is a proud nation steeped in centuries of tradition. War is second nature to this Empire, its troops having spent many years in conflict with neighbouring nations such as Korea and China.
Inside this box is an EotBS Armoured Battle Group, the building block from which you can assemble your ground force of hulking metal vehicles. Massive Land Ships, Artillery, Medium Tanks and Small Tank Tokens come together to fight across the battlefields of the world.

The following vehicles are included in this boxed set:

1x Taka Ishi Heavy Walker
The Taka Ishi represents an alternate advance in the design of battlefield assets. With its mere size it presents an intimidating target and is a beast in urban combat. It has great all round fire with its knee turrets, main turret and rocket battery.

6x Chi Ri Class Medium Tank
The Chi Ri has a durable chassis and a wide firing arc with its turret and broadsides. It also has a good anti-aircraft ability for its class.

3x Ho I Class Bombard
The Ho I is more than capable of bombarding enemy vehicles and fortifications with sustained fire at both short and long range. It can also fire into either the fore or aft arcs.

10x Ke Ho Class Small Tank
The Ke Ho has a straightforward design (even if it is round.) and can take a fair amount of punishment for its size. A squadron of Ke Hos can be quite a threat to ground and air targets alike.

Federated States of America Armoured Battle Group
The end of the Civil War led to a period of great transition for the Federated States of America (FSA). One of President Adamsí first orders was the formation of a unified military, a Federal Military with which the lands of the FSA could be protected.

Inside this box is an FSA Armoured Battle Group, the building block from which you can assemble your ground force of hulking metal vehicles. Massive Land Ships, Artillery, Medium Tanks and Small Tank Tokens come together to fight across the battlefields of the world.

The following vehicles are included in this boxed set:

1x Washington Class Land Ship
The Washington is one of very few aquatic tanks having been developed by the FSA to support amphibious landings. Its dual use and potent firepower make it a dangerous asset on the battlefield, while the high profile of its headquarters makes it a rallying point.

6x Trenton Class Medium Tank
The Trenton has powerful forward and aft batteries. A squadron of Trentons is adept at close formation manoeuvres, so that multiple squadrons of Trentons can maintain clear arcs of fire to the front while remaining a danger to enemies that pierce their rear lines.

3x Yorktown Class Bombard
The Yorktown provides essential artillery support to FSA formations. It can lay down destructive strikes from the rear, and has the added feature of firing either forward or backward.

10x Pioneer Class Small Tank
The Pioneer is a tough little tank. It combines direct firepower with improved anti-aircraft capability, and in a full squadron can threaten most flyers.

  • Not really digging the American designs, but overall these looks pretty snazzy. Wonder how big these models are.

  • Marauder

I really like KoB and EotBS – kind of neutral on the Prussians and don’t like the FSA so much.

  • cybogoblin

Erm, maybe I’m confused about what’s what, but doesn’t each set come with 3x Bombards (at the back) and 6x Medium Tanks (at the front)?

That aside, I agree with LaBambaMan. Those American vehicles look pretty poor, especially compared to what the other factions get (as well as the American naval units). Personally, I’m digging the Japanese the most, with the Brits a close second.

    • Yeah, I just noticed that myself. Must be a typo?

      • Zac

It was a typo in the original release. I’ve corrected it.

  • Grim6

I am super happy to see these coming out. I would agree about the FSA, expect that the land ship is amphibious!

The game is great, and I can’t wait to deploy my Prussian Land Forces along side my navy and air. The only thing I’m dreading is facing the EoBS Heavy Walker. That thing looks devastating.

  • Just to clarify product ships to Distributors on the 25th of May. When each distributor gets the product they will then ship it to the Retailers. Retailers in UK/EU who have a direct account with Spartan will have product shipped out on the 1st. Mail order from Spartan won’t ship out till the 8th of June. I’m expecting to see this product hit our US Stores around the 3rd of June.

  • PanzerKraken

Love the Empire of the Sun land stuff, but hate their naval stuff. And love the States naval, but not the land. Can’t make up my mind.

    • cybogoblin

Play both? Naval Americans and Land Japanese, with air support for each.

I’m not a huge fan of the Empire navy, so might just go Brits for everything.

  • n815e

    Good for playing Epic with.

    • Zac

Really? Are they the same scale?

  • I actually think the Yank stuff is really rad! it’s likely to be the stuff to push me over the edge into this game.
