Dice King Game Designs has launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund a line of D18 and D24 dice.

From the campaign:

Atomic Dice are extremely unique one of a kind RPG dice numbered 1-6 using pips 3 times on the D18 and 4 times on the D24. That’s right these are d(3X6) and d(4X6) polyhedral style dice, the classic D6 cube dice turned into a much rounder, even rolling die and pumped up on PIP STERIODS.

Rounder than d6 so it rolls better! Right off your table! Available in bright colours so you can see it easily in its resting spot under your couch!

“extremely unique one of a kind”
Unique means ‘one of a kind’
Unique is also an absolute – something is either unique or it is not.
By definition it cannot be ‘extremely unique’.

Meh – doesn’t even revolutionize rolled 2 six sided dice. Plus the video has zero lense flare added – that’s total fail (jeebus – that other dice KS is actually going to make goal. There needs to be a way to add negative funding to projects – like giving $100 to a charity deducts $50 from the project funding).

    • Dude. Negative funding? Yeesh.

      • Haibane

Pretty sure giving twice as much to a charity would leave the person at least neutral in karma ^^

  • Wow.. So much snarkiness! About the only thing I see that’s unfortunate is that this is following the recently successful 2xd6 dice. I already bought into that one so I will be passing on this.

I have a game (Gruntz) that would seriously benefit from the 2d6. But these, I have no use for.

I feel I’m pretty informed on different game systems, but I cannot for the life of me think of one game that uses a d18 or a d24.

    • They’re not. Just ‘normal’ d6’s with more facings.

      • Haibane

Otherwise we’d have an awful lot of dots to count XD

Well, although these are NOT what you’re thinking they are…there HAS been development of a bunch of non-standard dice…and it’s pretty immediately apparent that they’re not for developed war games – they’re for DMs looking to customize the probabilities their rolling [w/o using Excel or something]. We’re not their target audience either way, are we?? 🙂
