You know I like to keep things rather work-safe around here, so the name of the game in this article has been slightly modified for you at-work-readers. Anyway, Detective Bull—- is a new party card game from Tasty penguin. The game is up on Kickstarter now.
For each case, one player is Chief Bullshit and other players are detectives.
The Chief draws a victim card and decides the location of the crime. It’s then up to the other detectives to play suspect cards from their hands and convince the Chief that their suspect is guilty. But things get complicated in the 3 rounds of each case as additional evidence, complications, and bribery keep even the best bullshitters on their toes. It’s billed as “Clue meets Cards Against Humanity.”
The way the game works is that each turn there’s a judge for the round (named Chief Bull—-). They flip over a Person of Interest card that describes a crime that happened. From there, the various Detectives try and convince the Chief that their suspect is the guilty party, using a card from their hand as the basis for their accusation. Though that’s just the first part of the game. Further phases involve evidence and then complications for Due Process. In the end, only one can go to jail for the crime.
The campaign’s up and running now on Kickstarter. They’re about 1/3 of the way to funding with still 25 days to go.
