Aside from games being ported to and from the tabletop and video versions, having games translated into different languages to reach a wider audience is a big part of games. You might have a hit game, but if a lot of people can’t read the game’s rules, it’s sort of stuck to a certain market. So translating it into different languages can help spread the love through the world. That’s the case with Cattle Battle that’s up on Kickstarter now.
The game was originally in German, but it’s being translated into English. The game is getting an update to the rules as well, along with the translation.
In the game, you’re trying to collect families of animals, which happens in two phases. The first phase everyone bids for the various animals using the money card they’re given. In the second phase you try and complete your families by buying animals off your opponents. But other opponents can come in with counter-offers (these are the “battles”) and potentially steal away your own critters from you.
The campaign is up now and is set to run for another 28 days.
