Wyrd Previews The Drowned Render for Malifaux

Remember, kids, always swim with a buddy.
Also, I wouldn’t recommend swimming with an anchor. That just doesn’t seem like a good idea.
In this week’s Monday Preview from Wyrd, they’re showing off the render for The Drowned #2. Apparently, he didn’t heed the advice from above.

Wyrd Announces The Other Side, a New Minis Game

Coming back from Gen Con, there certainly are some interesting stories to post up. Wyrd Launches New Website

Sometimes you just need a facelift. I’ve been watching a lot of Kitchen Nightmares lately (because why not?) and seen a lot of restaurants that needed their look updated (good lord some of those looked terrible). The same can be said for websites. Let’s face it, website decor goes through phases (how about those old Geocities sites, eh?) and you need to keep up with the “hip, modern trends.” (lord knows we just updated a little under a year ago) Wyrd has done just that with their website.

Wyrd Previews Brotherhood of the Rat Story Box

For those of you that might remember such things, that’s what Charlie Brown would often yell when things didn’t go his way (which was pretty much all the time). Well, you’ll also be yelling that when looking over the new Story Box that’s coming out for Malifaux.

Wyrd’s Two Player Starter model preview

Wyrd is coming out with a new 2-player starter for Malifaux. I’ve always been a fan of starters like that, since you and a buddy can go and get into a game together and start playing right away. I’ll never forget splitting a 40k 2nd edition 2-player starter. He got the Space Marines and I got the Orks. But we’re not here to talk about that. We’re here to look at two new Henchmen that will be in the Malifaux box.

Wyrd Seeks Concept and Character Artist

Do you want a Wyrd job? Well, one’s been made available. Wyrd is looking for a new freelance Concept and Character artist. The artist will work closely with the Wyrd development team on a new game line (well, there’s news in and of itself!). Personally, I can’t draw a stick figure without a drafting machine, so I’m out of the running, but if you’re more artistically inclined than myself, perhaps you should look into it.

Through the Breach is a tabletop roleplaying game set in the world of Malifaux. Players take on the roles of various citizens, such as Gunfighters, Drudges, Dabblers, and Entertainers. Each of these characters is as unique as the players themselves. These are the Fated. As a Fated, you know your future, it has been told to you, as cryptic as the sparrow on a moonless night. It is your task to rush headlong into the arms of destiny, or to carve your own future.
One player takes on the role of the Fatemaster. It is his duty to craft the legends of the other players, to narrate the story of Malifaux in his own vision, and to move each Fated along towards the moment when they must choose between their fortune and their soul.

Orcs in the Webbe Reviews Wyrd Games’ Malifaux Chronicles 13

Orcs in the Webbe takes a look at the latest issue of Chronicles from Wyrd and gives you their thoughts on the subject.

From the review:

Heya Folks!

Today on Orcs in the Webbe we take a look at the latest issue of Wyrd Games’ Malifaux magazine, Chronicles, and give it the Written Matters treatment.

Written Matters is a series of short reviews that I started on OITW back in 2008 to let readers know what is in a given publication and if there’s anything of particular note that I feel might be of use to its readers. Back then it was anything of a vaguely Blackpowder / Alternative Historical bent but now the readership of OITW has expanded so has my mini review.

Wyrd posts announcement about July releases for Malifaux

Wyrd is looking at a delay for the delivery of July releases for Malifaux.

Bayou Gremlins

From the update:

When it rains .. it pours .. and then the tsunami hits and the shark-nado comes along just to join in on the fun and mayhem.

Needless to say we have encountered large delays on our end causing an interruption of product and information to our customers, distributors and the stores they work with. We unfortunately have run into more than our fair share of issues that are out of our control but we are doing everything we can to mitigate the damages for all. The latest snafu has been our very large, fast, and sadly, expensive, shrink wrap machine has died a horrible death and finding competent techs was surprisingly difficult.

In the mean time, we will be working the team over the weekend to make certain that the new releases below are ready to start sending out early Monday morning and we’ll be pulling long hours to make certain all distributor orders are fulfilled as quickly as possible. Because of the delay we are lifting the street date and these are to be treated as release upon receipt of product. Those furthest out for delivery time will be shipped first so that the product arrives more or less at the same time.

Please once again accept our apologies for these delays as well as delay in communication. We’re now off to batten down for the upcoming kraken attack that someone must have inevitably released …
