Tomb of Annihilation Set For Dice Masters Now Available

Seems we’ve got a couple Dungeons & Dragons releases today that aren’t actually Dungeons & Dragons releases. In this case, it’s the Tomb of Annihilation set for Dice Masters. Want to get your dice-rolling on without your full group there? Now you certainly can, as you take on undead horrors (or control them, if you so choose) with your fireball and sword.

I love when I see a thing that was originally a Kickstarter campaign not only fund and then deliver, but become available for general release. This is one such story. In Darkness Delve Vol. 1 RPG Adventures Up On Kickstarter

A DM, in my opinion, can never have too many resources at their disposal when it comes time to run the game. Pre-made adventures are a nice way to get your game going without having to spend hours and hours of prep time on it. You just open up to Page 1 and go. In Darkness Delve Vol. 1 is a new set of fantasy RPG adventures for 5th Edition D&D. They’ve got you covered for quite a bit of your party’s adventuring career, too, going from level 1 all the way to level 10. The set of adventures is up on Kickstarter now.

Wizards of the Coast Posts D&D Survey

Would you like to take a survey!?
Do you like RPGs? Do you like George Wendt? Would you play RPGs with George Wendt? Would you play a bean-eating RPG with George Wendt? Does anyone out there get these references?
If you answered “yes” to any of those questions… well… they’re not entirely pertinent to Wizards of the Coast, except maybe that first one. They’ve posted up a D&D Survey and would love to hear from you.

Wizards of the Coast Launches D&D Beyond Companion App

Dungeons & Dragons is a great game. However, it can, occasionally, be rough to try and keep up with everything for it. The various books and other supplemental material offer players and DMs lots of chances for customization, but it can occasionally be a bit daunting to sort through it. That’s where the D&D Beyond set of digital tools comes in. You can get it now.

You’ve often heard me talk about how it’s always good for a DM/GM to have access to pre-made items to make running their games go more smoothly and so they don’t have to create everything for their game from whole cloth. Well, the One Shot Compendium is just such a thing. It’s not just a couple adventures, but 30 of them. They’re formatted for 5th Edition. They’re up on Kickstarter now.

Book of Exalted Darkness: Evil Adventures for 5E Up On Kickstarter

Some people just want to see the world burn. All those stuck-up, self-righteous, do-gooders make them sick. They’d much rather everyone run around, doing what they want. That’s the sort of setting you’re dropped into in Book of Exalted Darkness. It’s a holy decopunk campaign world that you’re looking to corrupt and destroy by whatever means you think’ll work best. The book is written to be used with 5th Edition. It’s also up on Kickstarter now.

Dragon+ Issue 13 Now Available

If you’re like me, you fill your day with gaming stuff as much as possible. In-between making posts and working on other projects, I’ll usually crack open a gaming magazine to see what else is going on in the gaming world. Always better when that magazine’s for free. 😛
Such is the case with Dragon+. The 13th issue is available now. And no, there’s nothing unlucky about it.

A Touch of Class: 7 New Classes for 5th Edition Up On Kickstarter

When playing Dungeons & Dragons, your class is pretty important. Even your race or alignment really isn’t quite as important for your character as your class is. Those others might come up from time to time, but your class comes up pretty much any time you roll the dice. As such, picking just the right class for you is important. Well, EN Publishing has been coming out with various classes for their Patreon backers. Now, they’re updating those and putting them together in a single book called A Touch of Class. It has 7 fully fleshed-out classes that you can use in your games. The book’s up on Kickstarter now.

Well, you both got your horror and fantasy in my post-apocalyptic!
Apocalypse the Risen is a little of this and a little of that. It’s listed as post-apocalyptic fantasy horror. It’s set on Earth after society has been utterly destroyed (so, ~28 years from now. … Kidding!). Demons have gotten a foothold and zombies are roaming the streets. Can you survive in such a horrific land?
The setting book is up now on Kickstarter.

The Folio #14 Up On Kickstarter

There’s rampaging dinosaurs on the cover. So I’m certainly interested in what this adventure has in store. The Folio #14 is an adventure that’s compatible with both 1E AD&D as well as 5th Edition (plus, is easily transferable to other rules sets). Players will have to deal with the aforementioned dinosaurs, as well as a cursed ship and an evil Necromancer (are there any really good necromancers out there?). The book is up on Kickstarter now.

Arcanis Setting Book For 5th Edition Up On Kickstarter

Games go through new editions all the time (heck, I dubbed last year the “Year of New Editions” since it seemed a new one was coming out almost weekly). Well, when a system gets changed, any sort of supplemental material for it must also be updated. That includes things like settings for game systems. That’s just what’s happening with Arcanis. It was originally made back in 2001, but with the update to 5th Edition, it’s getting an overhaul as well. And that’s up on Kickstarter now.

Wizards of the Coast’s Dungeons & Dragons is more than just an RPG. It has helped countless people through a myriad of issues as well as inspired other, great works. This issue of Dragon+ looks at some of those stories. Maybe it can help inspire you in some way. Along with that, there’s articles about helping get the most out of published adventures, along with a couple adventures to try out, as well as a painting article (not exactly something you’d expect, but considering how people like to have their mini look just right for their character, not too surprising).

Tales of the Warrior Princess Up On Kickstarter

Princesses don’t always need to be saved, y’know. They can be just as capable of being badasses as any prince. Hell, they can go and save some foppish prince from some castle. Gods and Goddesses 5th Edition Supplement Up On Kickstarter

The various fantasy realms that players may use when they play 5th Edition can have all sorts of gods and goddesses floating overhead or deep underfoot. Highly religious characters might even draw their power directly from these deities. But what if none of the current pantheons really do it for you? That’s where Gods and Goddesses comes in. It’s a new 5th Edition supplement that’s up on Kickstarter now. It greatly expands your object of worship options.

D&D Icons of the Realms: Monster Menagerie II Now Available

I’ve got a D&D game that I’m running. Our next session is in a couple weeks. We like to use miniatures to represent our characters and monsters out on the board. I know a lot of you do much the same. But we’re all sticklers for having just the right mini for our purposes. Yes, it bugs me a bit whenever I’m like, “Yeah, the mini’s a guy with shield and sword, but it’s really a dude with a pair of clubs.” So having more options for figures is always nice. So, with that said, I’m happy to let you know that WizKids has released their D&D Icons of the Realms: Monster Menagerie II set.

Choe Pho Fantasy Setting Now Available

Most of the fantasy settings we hear about are ancient ones with histories stretching back millions of years, with countless civilizations that have risen and fallen over the vast stretches of time. Choe Pho isn’t like most fantasy settings. Instead, it is a relatively new world. It was created by the Council of Enlightenment as a secret, secure place that’s far away from the reaches of the Ilu. The inhabitants of the world live on the Isle of Hope, heading out to the Plains of Morrow in order to bring order to the chaos. This new setting book, originally coming from Contagion Second Edition, is now available.

Friday Snippets

I technically have the day off today. Why? Because CMON went public on the Hong Kong stock exchange and they’re giving us the day off to celebrate. But the news doesn’t stop just because the office is closed. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor slush, shal keep me from giving you your news (ok, so maybe eating lots of food last week would keep me from doing it, but still…). Gonna be a bit shorter day today, but I still want to get you your bite-sized gaming stories. So let’s get to it.

On the platter today, we have: Ramshackle Games Releases the Boom Wagon, Gods & Goddesses 5th edition supplement coming to Kickstarter in February, Kromlech New Release: Vehicle Hull Points Markers, Raging Heroes Sale Extended Through This Weekend, Aether Captains: Action Cards Update, Liam Games distributes MAGE Company in Israel, and Czacha Games to publish Polish Raid and Trade in 2017.

D&D Icons of the Realms: Monster Menagerie II Coming Next Year

On the 17th, we’ll be having the next session of the D&D group that I’m running. Nobody died last session (character or player, thankfully), but it did get kinda nasty for a while. I’m a big proponent of using miniatures for our gaming sessions, but I’m always a little bummed when I don’t have exactly the miniature I’d need for a particular encounter. That’s why I’m always happy to see that new minis sets are coming out. And while they won’t be out for the December session, the Icons of the Realms: Monster Menagerie II set might be out in time for our January game.

Places by the Way Module Series for 5th Edition Up On Kickstarter

It’s one thing to get a one-shot module to augment your D&D game. It’s another to get a group of them that you can sprinkle throughout a larger campaign, creating effectively a “B-story” for everything else that might be going on. That’s just what the Places by the Way module set looks to create. It’s up on Kickstarter now.

Of Drow Origin RPG Module Up On Kickstarter

Under our feet, deep below the surface is a whole other world. A dark world of winding corridors, terrible monsters, and sudden death. It’s also the home of the Drow, the subterranean elves that are a lot of what can cause that “sudden death” I mentioned. Of Drow Origin is a new Drow-centered module, compatible with 5th Edition, that’s currently up on Kickstarter.

Sunken Temple Adventure Module Up On Kickstarter

It’s probably not a good sign when a temple that’s not been seen for millennia resurfaces. It’s even worse when monsters start coming out of it. But hey, there might be treasure in there! And, you know, you should probably do something about those monsters. Maybe find out why the temple’s back and make sure it’s not going to destroy the world or something. But really, it’s about the possible treasure. Sunken Temple is a new multi-system RPG adventure that’s up on Kickstarter now.
