We’ve got a spaghetti western here on 36.
I like spaghetti westerns.
I like the way the boots are all reverbed out walking across the hardwood floor.
In fact, everything’s got that big reverb sound.
There’s also a new gang available to order for Dead Man’s Hand.
For me, at least, the relaxing day of the week. Sure, there’s chores to do like laundry and cooking for the week, but overall, it’s a day to just relax a bit. Also, I’m told there’s some major sporting event-thing going on today. Ok, I know it’s the Super Bowl. But I’m more of a “hockey” guy than a “football” guy. But hey, if you are going to watch the Super Bowl, nothing goes better than a bunch of bite-sized snacks.
Speaking of bite-sized, here’s some bite-size stories to munch on.
Today we have: ADAPT Card Game Reaches Funding Goal, Nightmare Forest: Dead Run Reaches Funding Goal, New Old West Releases From Knuckleduster, Battle Arena Show Reaches Funding Goal, New Statuesque Asylum character and TWO new sizes of female head sprues, New Warsenal Limited Edition Unit Markers for Infinity The Game Released, New Video Preview for Polyversal 6mm SciFi Game, The Rhinotaur Added to Circle of Chaos Kickstarter, Age of Tyrants announces how to play videos, The Dryden Heavy Destroyer Miniature is Now Available, and Mountain Miniatures preview pics for End of Times Kickstarter.
Woo! Friday! Woo!
Most of my friends are talking about Star Wars. I’ve not seen it yet. Perhaps sometime soon. But it is cool to see how integrated into the mainstream our “geeky” culture has become. Now we don’t have to be shy and reluctant to talk about the things we love. We can just be who we want to be, which is pretty awesome.
Anyway, before we make that grand leap to the weekend, we need to get you some bite-sized stories that we’ve found over the past couple days.
Today’s stories include: New statues from Klukva Miniatures, Pyrkol releases new Acid Templates, New Meg’s Girls – White Star squad from MaxMini, and New Previews For Wild West Exodus.
The week is continuing along at a fairly standard rate. However, it seems today really put on the accelerator and we’re going full-tilt through the day. It’s already time for the Midweek Snippets post (which is also midway through our broadcast day here, if you’ve never noticed before). Which means I’m halfway through my day as well. Good times.
Anyway, today’s batch of bite-size stories includes: RONE Passes Funding Goal – Posts Gameplay Video, Blackwater Gulch: Savage Beasts Available Now, Xenoshyft Dreadmire Expansion Teased, Buy the Rights Receives the ‘Major Fun Award’, 29K Stretch Goal Unlocked in Kensei Undead Kickstarter, Massive Awesome Reveals The Hulking Kodiak Tactical Heavy Frame For Shattered Earth, Legends of British Steampunk: Roleplay & Wargames Miniatures On Kickstarter, Tabletop-Art Previews Rockabilly Heads, New Warthrone approved army list: Lizardmen from Warhammer, Kromlech New Release – Legionary Chain Swords,
Well, for those of us here in the US, it’s back to the “normal work week” for a few. Thanksgiving was great. I did make soup afterward. I’ve got quite a lot of it. Some will be frozen. Some will be given away. Much will be consumed over the next week. Should stave off any early-winter illnesses I might encounter.
In the meantime, though, normalization of everything begins with our Terrain Corner. We missed Thursday’s because of the holiday, so we’ve got some extra for you today.
Stories include: Pwork Wargames City Ruins gaming mat now available, New 4Ground Dead Man’s Hand Railroad Station and more, Sally 4th Terra Block Barroom set released, Manorhouse Workshop Update #7 – 3D Bases – Modular Terrain: Skirmish & Wargame, Final Days for Trash Bash Bits Part 2, and Two news Russian 15mm houses available From Escenografia Epsilon.
Hello there, Wednesday. How are you? I see you’ve brought the Guns ‘N’ Roses weather back with you. And while I know I’m in the minority here in Atlanta when I say, “woo! Rain!” I don’t care. I enjoy it. So there.
Along with the rain, Wednesday brings us our Midweek Snippets post, where we bring you some bite-sized stories that we’ve found over the past couple days.
In this batch we have: Tor Gaming Announces The C’thu Kickstarter, We’re All Mad Here NPC Contest from Wizard of the Coast, Fistful of Lead: Reloaded fully backed on Kickstarter, Tin Man 35% Off Sale Ends Sunday Night, Shieldwolf Miniatures releases new Goblins, New Sci Fi Dwarves from Scibor, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm and 15mm October Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, The Seraphis Institute – The Third Army Deal From Nexus Miniatures, Vasseth Strike Tank and Reaction Force released by Loud Ninja Games, New Shaleground 30mm and 40mm RL Deals From Tabletop-Art, Crusaders of the Faith Revealed for Shattered Earth’s Children of the One True God Faction, Medieval Mayhem Coming This December, New Cavalry Models From Brigade Models, and Just Four Days left on the Interface Zero kickstarter for Fate.
I love old Western movies. The “Man With No Name” trilogy is one of my favorite sets of movies. I really do need to get around to watching The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly again at some point, in particular. Afterward, I might just want to play some western-style miniatures games. Thankfully, Fistful of Lead is there for me. The game is getting a bit of an update and is over on Kickstarter now.
The weekend is once more almost upon us. We stand at the precipice of two whole days of not-work (well, I’ll still be making updates, but that’s alright). I’ve got a big model-building project for the weekend that recently showed up. I’m really excited for it. All The Bitz!… Which reminds me, I’m gonna need to pick up more glue…
Anyway, before we get there, we need to chew our way through some bite-sized stories.
Today’s batch includes: The Surakari Invasion $2.99 Sale, New Renders for Wild West Exodus Posted, New Antares Battle Supplies Available From Warlord Games, New Santa Dwarf from Kabuki Models, and Blackout Kickstarter makes subtle but important changes to goals.
Welcome to Friday, ladies and gentlenerds. We’ve made it here once more. Congratulations!
It means the weekend is just about here. Time to rejoice.
It also means we have a batch of bite-sized stories to bring to you now. Let’s dig in.
Today we have: Arena Rex new release: Hagal, Dead of Winter Roberta Plum Promo Available From Plaid Hat Games, New Black Plague Zombicide Paint Set From The Army Painter Coming Soon, New Dawrves from Scibor, Kromlech New Release – Gentleorc Heads, New Maneuver Dials for X-Wing From Fantasy Flight Games, Dragon Queen finally available From Kabuki Models, Little Orc Wars: Human Troopers Available From Skirmisher Publishing, New Wild West Exodus Previews Posted, Cul-De-Sac Conquest Kickstarter Campaign – Week in Review, and Relicblade: Adventure Battle Game Inbound.
We’re making our way ever-closer to the weekend. Thursday is upon us and soon it will be Friday. After that it will be Saturday, glorious Saturday.
But at the moment, it’s still Thursday. As such, it’s time to look once more at some bits to help make your gaming tables look their best.
Today’s batch of stories includes: New Blacksmith Shop From Burn In Designs, Manorhouse Workshop Update #5 – 3D Bases – Modular Terrain: Skirmish & Wargame, and Free asteroids, scenery, acrylic tokens, or Other With Spartan Games Purchases.
And we’ve made it back to Sunday. At least for me, the day to get stuff done around the apartment and prep for the oncoming week. I might get in some electronic gaming later on, though. Hey, you can’t make it out to the LGS every day (try as some might). 😉
Since it is Sunday, we’ve got some bite-sized stories for you, as usual.
In this batch is: HS Stencil System – Wave 2 – from Anarchy Models on Kickstarter, New render for Wild West Exodus, Dragonborn – Symphonic Album for Table RPGs on Kickstarter, Another World Miniatures: Magnus The Witchhunter Is Online, Tabletop Adapters releases unique 32mm Adapter, Yay Games To Release Sandcastles at Essen, Vengeance Oct Releases Posted, and The Book of Starry Wisdom: Apocrypha of Lovecraft’s Cthulhu on Kickstarter.
Friday! Woo! *tosses papers in the air*
*remembers that there’s still a good half of the day left*
*scrambles to try and put all those thrown papers back in order*
*has his boss lean in and say, “Polar Bear! Do you have those TPS reports all set and ready for the presentation? It’s time!”*
“Uh, yes, boss! Just a second!”
Ok, that little creative writing exercise aside, let’s get on with the bite-size stories from the past couple days.
In this batch we have: Free Stowage with all tanks From Warlord Games, New Morbid Egzekutor Amarath from Hitech Miniatures, Ramshackle Games Water Seller Competition, Space Duck Games Announces El Presidente Kickstarter, Kromlech New Release – Stygian Legionary Backpacks, Stonemaier Games announces Kickstarter project for Scythe board game, Cyclops-Class Assault Armor now available at ClearHorizon Miniatures, Playmore Games’Race to the North Pole begins October 2015, Rocky Mountain Gaming vacation announces Special Guest, Steve Barber Models Posts “About Us” Video, New Female Orc From Brother Vinni, and New Renders For Wild West Exodus From Outlaw Miniatures.
Saddle up your horse and get ready to ride. Head into town with your six-guns a-blazin’ in Desperado. The game, originally released in 1992, is getting a new lease on life via Knuckleduster Miniatures. This new book is just full of old west goodness to get you shooting down the bad guys. Tumbleweeds sold separately.
Well, Gangfight Games has bad news and good news about their recent Kickstarter campaign for the Savage Beasts expansion for Blackwater Gulch. The bad news is that the campaign didn’t fund (which is sad, as I really was hoping they’d make it to the bear stretch goal). However, the good news is that, during the campaign, their regular sales shot up and so they were able to afford creating the figures after all.
Welcome back TGN readers. It’s been quite a weekend for a lot of my friends, as they’re posting all sorts of fun pictures from Dragon*Con downtown. Meanwhile, I made pumpkin cheesecake snickerdoodle cookies, because I can.
Ladies, I’m available. *eyebrow wiggle*
But anyway, as for other bite-sized morsels, let’s take a look at some of the shorter stories we’ve collected over the past couple days.
In today’s batch we have: Hitech Miniatures Releases Standar Bearer Gothmor, Final Hours for Blackwater Gulch on Kickstarter, Iron Week 2015 – France’s first Warmachine and Hordes convention, The preorder campaign of Expo 1906 will start on Tuesday,
Mount up, men! We’ll head ’em off at the pass!
“Head them off at the pass?” I hate that cliche!
D6 Shooter is a fast-paced, press-your-luck dice game that’s right near the end of their Kickstarter campaign and is working their way through stretch goals.
We’re just chugging right along in the week. We’ve already made it back here to Wednesday. Hopefully the week has been treating you well.
As for us here, we’ve got another batch of bite-sized stories for your enjoyment to nibble on.
This time around there’s: Iron Brigade New from All the King’s Men, Vurt RPG Updates their Stretch Goals, Final Week for Lobotomy On Kickstarter, Blackwater Gulch Kickstarter – Croatoan Deeper Look, Arena Rex Emissaries Wanted, Proxie Models Releases New Card Game Tokens, 15mm Command Decision infantry for sale, Denizens of Galaxy III released at 15mm.co.uk, and Dogmen of ruined Pudigrochumsberg coming for Flintloque.
Blackwater Gulch is a rather wild place. Our friends over in Britain might say it’s down right beastly. Well, at the conclusion of the Kickstarter that just launched, that will be literally the thing to say, as the campaign hopes to bring some new beasts to your tabletop.
For Americans, the Old West takes on mythical status. Gunslingers, cowboys, rustlers, marshals, bandits. All of them are larger than life. Famous lawmen and outlaws are still names that people know. Scaldcrow Games is running a Kickstarter for Wild West Horse Opera, their pulp-style Wild West RPG. So now you can recreate wild stagecoach heists on your tabletop.
Welcome back to Wednesday, beautiful readers.
As is our custom, we’ve collected up some of the bite-sized stories we’ve come across in the past few days and present them to you now.
In this batch we have: Expedition Adventure Card Game Coming to Kickstarter, New Undead Warband releases at Pendraken, Blackwater Gulch Savage Beasts Kickstarter Coming Soon, Hitech Miniatures Releases Lord Cruentus, First Team Yankee Models Sighted at Breakthrough Assault, Fireforge Crusader Archers Pre-Order available, Treasures of the Haunted Tower Now Available, Ironwatch releases their State of the Watch for 2015-2016, Primer on Patrol Angis Posted, ClearHorizon Miniatures releases the 15mm Armadillo APC, and New 30mm and 40mm Cobblestone Base Deals from Tabletop-Art.
With the drive to Indy yesterday, I obviously didn’t have much of a chance to make posts (and no, trying to type in the car all day was not an option. I would’ve gotten all the carsick). So today I bring you both the Midweek Snippets and today’s Terrain Corner together again in one place.
In this batch of bite-sized articles and terrain stories we have: DLD Productions website now open, Web-Based RPG Toolset City of Brass Opens, New Releases Available from Hitech Miniatures, Pondemonium! A free print’n’play boardgame or 3D wargame, Now available – Ruins of Sanctuary 30mm RL deal (20x bases) and 40mm RL deal (8x bases), PK-PRO – Aetztech new etched brass, Werewolf Tokens Up On Kickstarter, Wheel of Flame Gaming Candles Up On Kickstarter, New Warthrone approved army list: Skaven from Warhammer, Free PDF at The Ion Age: Shia Khan Empire in Patrol Angis, Brigade Models – new 15mm SF Buildings, New Manorhouse Workshop Pre-painted – Tabletop Terrain, Some more installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Kromlech New Release – Legionary Pistols, and Icarus Miniatures Preview The Gunslinger.
This week, we are certain to see lots of awesome-looking terrain tables during Gen Con. If you want your table to look as good, you’ll probably want to check out what sort of terrain is being offered up by various vendors. Conveniently, we’ve put all of those together in one place for you here online.
In today’s Terrain Corner we have: New 4Ground Parish Church & Accessories, Deep-Cut Studio releases new gaming mat for post-apocalyptic settings, New Terrain preview from ModelEarth, Pwork Releases the Lifeless Land Wargame Mat, and Angry Mojo Games July Releases Part 1: Wild West Terrain.
Seems just about everyone is coming out with new editions of rulebooks this week. Or just new rules in general. Getting a new version put online for people to view is a popular activity. And Gangfight Games is getting into the act with an updated version of Blackwater Gulch.
The Wild West. It’s hard to get more “American” than the wide-open spaces of the prairie. The time right after the Civil War when men were men and women were men, too, holds a lot of nostalgia for Americans. Much of our imagery of “what it is to be an American” comes from that time and place. So it seems only right that the guys at Outlaw Miniatures would have a big sale for the 4th of July.
Hey everyone. I hope your weekend is going well. My Saturday was spent with some good friends that I don’t get to see nearly enough, talking about glorious moments from games past, listening to some humorous gaming radio-plays, getting into wacky hijinks, and just generally being odd (while mostly listening to hair metal, because why not?).
As for today, it’s time to serve up some bite-sized stories to you.
In this batch we have:

Weird West has been a pretty popular genre, especially lately. With the rise of Blackwater Gulch, Shadows of Brimstone, and Wild West Exodus, among others, more and more gamers are heeding the call of “Go West, young man (and woman).” The Sixth Gun RPG Kickstarter is also going like gangbusters, already more than 5x their original funding goal. To get things going even further, they’ve asked the fellows over at Bronze Age Miniatures to whip up a set of minis to go with the RPG module. You can add these to your pledge if you so choose.
Saddle up and get ready to ride, hombre, because Pinnacle Entertainment Group and Oni Press are bringing the wild west to your tabletop with The Sixth Gun, coming to Savage Worlds. The Sixth Gun is a comic series by writer Cullen Bunn and artist Brian Hurtt that focuses on the search for the sixth gun. You see, during the Civil War, six pistols of unimaginable power were found. Each one had a unique power associated with it. The sixth was the most powerful, said to be able to rewrite all of creation, itself. Well, the darn thing’s gone missing. An object like that is probably something you don’t want just kicking around anywhere.
Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope the week has been treating you well. I’ve… actually been sick this week. Don’t worry, I’ve made sure to disinfect every post just before it goes up, so you shouldn’t catch anything.
Anyway, we’ve collected the various bite-sized stories that we’ve come across recently and present them to you now.
In this batch we have: Outer Limit Games announces Kickstarter launch date for TAU CETI: Planetary Crisis, LaserCutCard Updates and re-Releases New Art Deco Ruins Terrain, MidKnight Heroes Kcikstarter Reboot Coming Soon, Acheson Creations Releases Orc House, Mounted Heroes Kickstarter Launches, New Pwork Wargames Battle Mats Available, Play Blackwater Gulch at Origins, Final Days of Ramshackle Robots Kickstarter, New Brigade Models – 15mm Armoured Infantry, Sally 4th Releases Pub Interior Terrain Set, and New Furniture and Table Detail kits from Burn In Designs.
Friday has once again graced us with its presence. We may be battered and bruised from the work week, but the end is here and your reward is a couple days to do whatever you want (well, not whatever, but you know what I mean). With any luck, your weekend plans include gaming. I’m hoping to throw down with some board games tomorrow night. Should be a good time.

Gangfight Games is looking to bring some new minis to the Blackwater Gulch line. They’ve got the playtest rules for their Savage Beasts expansion up on their website for you to check out. Give ’em a look-see and post your feedback. Hmm, that Werebear art seems familiar. *looks at my right arm* Oh yeah. Another Heath “BA” Foley masterpiece.
Anyway, they’ve got the rules up now and will be running a Kickstarter for the minis in a couple months.
From the announcement: Continue reading
Great Escape Games has plans for this Saturday that coincide with a lot of other people’s plans for Saturday. They’ll be at Salute and would love to see you there. Check below the cut for what they’ll have going on.
From the announcement: Continue reading
It’s Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Hopefully your weekend has been going well. D&D was rather epic yesterday. At one point, it involved using Unseen Servants and Glibness to move an ogre corpse around Marionette-style in an elaborate plan to scare/intimidate other ogres and giants. It… was an interesting session…
Anyway, what we’re here for isn’t stories of extremely ill-conceived gaming plots, we’re here for some bite-sized gaming stories.
In this installment we have: New items from Thomarillion, First Knight by Kabuki Models soon available for purchase, Kromlech New Release – Goblin Grease Monkeys, Corner shop added to Sally 4ths range of 28mm photo realistic terrain, Burn In Designs release new church set for their Welcome to Rock Ridge Terrain Kits, New Mats and Terrain from Paper Wargames, Heroic Maps – Storeys: The Trip & Trap, and a Hitech Miniatures new release.
Wednesday. Is there a day that personifies the progression of the week more than Wednesday? We’ve made it through Monday and Tuesday. Thursday and Friday are ahead. Stuck in the middle is Wednesday. Saying “it’s all downhill from here” isn’t exactly the right phrase, but you get the gist of what I’m going for.
Anyway, we’ve got another set of bite-sized news stories for you for today.
In this bunch we have: Hydra Miniatures posts Retro Raygun Preview Video, Recon Force Alpha PDF From Finger and Toe Models, Alewood – A Modern Tabletop Drinking Game Preview, some new installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Sally 4th Releases Public House from range of photorealistic building kits, Tabletop-Art Previews Upcoming 32mm Bases, Queen of Hearts WIP & New Bases for your miniatures by Kabuki Models, Kromlech New Release – Legionaries Pistols, New Release: 15mm Stalingrad/Russian Buildings from Novus Design Studios, New 6mm scale superheavy tank pre-orders from Gregster’s Lab, and New Steampunk Bases From Fat Spider.
It’s another Sunday. To those of you that celebrate it, Happy Easter. To the rest, I hope your Sunday is just as awesome as well.
I had my traditional hard boiled eggs and cold kielbasa this morning. It was just as tasty as always.
Speaking of tasty bites, we’ve got our also-traditional bite-sized stories we’ve collected over the past few days to present to you now.
This serving we’ve got: More editions of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Trash Bash Bits on Kickstarter, New Blackwater Gulch and Mechadrome Models Coming Soon, Valon Civilians released at Alternative Armies, Alliance Boarding Trooper Art Preview from Icarus Miniatures, Imaginary Empire Releases Wicked Lies & Alibis, Rebel Minis Releases 15mm Valonians, and New Historical Tables of Order and Equipment Available for April 2015 from TOEHub.
