More Some More Adepticon Photos

It’s early Sunday morning, and that means packing things up here in the room. It’s the final day of Adepticon. If you’ve been here, I hope you’ve had a good time. If you’ve not been here, I hope the photos have helped you live vicariously through my lens. To help with that, here’s some more galleries of events from the show.

And stay tuned this afternoon for the results from the Crystal Brush awards.

Terrain Corner/Snippets

So, as I was in a car for just slightly more than 1/2 of yesterday, I didn’t get much of a chance to post up the Midweek Snippets post. As such, I’m rolling it in with today’s Terrain Corner, as I have a bit of time right now to do so (and to give you a “peek behind the curtain,” I’m actually typing this late at night here on Wednesday).

Anyway, in this Terrain Corner/Snippets post we have: Gaddis Gaming Launches 28mm WWII Miniatures Kickstarter, Turn One Gaming Supplies Releases 8-Bit Dice, Donnybrook skirmish game rulebook now available, Post Apocalyptic Dwarf Bikers Up On Kickstarter, Round-Lip Space Dungeon Bases Available From Tabletop-Art, Heroic Maps – Giant Maps: The Great Labyrinth Now Available, MidKnight Heroes Super Chibi Finial sculpts are in and late pledge extended, Crossover Miniatures Releases Frederick Class Airship, Meka Desert: Pwork Wargames science fiction gaming mat, Gamelyn responds to backers with only 3 days left, and Battle Valor Games 15mm Fantasy New Releases.

Zephyr: Winds of Change Board Game Up On Kickstarter

Up, up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful balloooooooon!
Ok, you probably don’t remember that one. Ask your parents, or possibly your grandparents for you really young’uns.
Zephyr: Winds of Change is a new cooperative board game that’s up on Kickstarter now and looking for some funding love.

Wrath of Kings Reviews Neritic Horror

There are many crazy things that live in our oceans. Just the other day I saw this story about some neon-green-eyed fish-thing that they brought up from the depths.
Yeah, I really have no desire to go swimming in the ocean, thankyouverymuch. Hell, I might run into a Neritic Horror! At least if that did happen, though, the preview posted up for Wrath of Kings will let me know how to deal with it.

Midweek Snippets

The week continues on. We’ve made it halfway through. We might as well press on to the weekend. Turning back now would just be silly. But if we’re going to make it, we should rest a bit and get some provisions. Thankfully, there’s a group of bite-size stories here just waiting for us.

Today we have: Ainsty Castings Taking Salute Pre-Orders, Darklight Kickstarter – Gameplay Video Posted, Final Hours for Twisted Game on Kickstarter, Final Day for Traazorites Kickstarter, Brigade Games Launches Post-Apocalyptic Miniatures Kickstarter, and First Modern Canadian WIP from Full Battle Rattle Miniatures posted.

Shell Cracker Previewed For Wrath of Kings

Though I don’t get to have it all that often, I do love seafood. In particular, I love shellfish. However, this is one crustacean that’s just as likely to try and eat me as I am to eat him. A new preview for Wrath of Kings has been posted. It’s the Shell Cracker for Hadross.

New Warmachine and Hordes Previews Posted

The folks over at Privateer Press posted up a trio of new previews over on their website. There’s a bit of keeping ol’ man winter around, a little bit of “kill it with fire!,” and finally a guy who’d be happy to do just that for you.

Thursday Terrain Corner

We’re working our way there, everyone. We’ve made it to Thursday. Just the rest of today and then Friday and we’ll be set for the weekend. Mine’s looking like it’ll be full of teaching someone Warmachine and then actually getting Guild Ball out on the table and playing. Both of those games need some terrain to really mix things up. I mean, sure, you could play them on flat, open boards, but where’s the fun in that? Thankfully, there’s terrain options. And we’ve got some more options available with this Terrain Corner.

Today’s articles include: Battlemap Layers Up On Kickstarter, Victorian Steampunk Modular Tabletop Terrain On Kickstarter, Warsenal releases Cosmica Wave Two for Infinity, Pwork Releases Darkburg Fantasy Gaming Mat, Manorhouse Workshop Update #13 – Inside the ruins, and Acheson’s Dungeon Worlds KickStarter Releases New Products.

New Warmachine/Hordes Previews Posted by Privateer Press

Look, I’ll just cut to the chase. You get a look at the new colossal for Cryx.
Sure, there’s a new pose for Deneghra, a new Convergence warcaster, and a new light beast kit coming for the Farrow, but it’s the colossal that’s going to be grabbing most people’s attention for this post.

Aether Captains Takes Flight On Kickstarter

Ah, there’s nothing like the life of a pirate. Raiding enemies and plundering their loot. Swilling grog. Singing pirate tunes.
Just gotta watch out about going overboard. It’s a heck of a drop.
Heck of a drop? Well, it’s a heck of a drop for the sky pirates in Aether Captains, anyway. What’s Aether Captains? It’s the new board game from Mage Company and Ninja Division and it’s up on Kickstarter now.

Midweek Snippets

Well… that was a bit of an adventure.
For those interested in keeping track, Monday I noticed my car had a coolant leak. Tuesday I took it into the shop. They originally said, “it’ll just be a couple hours.” Then they said, “it’ll be overnight (they needed a part).” So, seeing as I was clear on the other side of town, I crashed at a friend’s place (as a 50mi walk home didn’t sound fun), picked up my car this morning, and am now back into the office. Hooray!

You know what I could use? A snack. Or at least some snack-sized gaming stories.

Hey! Look what we’ve got here!

In today’s Snippets we have: Collins Epic Wargames introduces Milestone Rewards for Polyversal, Cast Metal Gaming Dice on Kickstarter, FatMan Productions Posts New Previews For Awakening Recon, Frostgrave Fan Base Launched, Blacksmith Miniatures release: the apothecary, Photos from Nuremberg Spielwarenmesse 2016, Malifaux translated to Italian, The Circle of Chaos Kickstarter Going On Now, Shipping Update from Nexus Miniatures, Titan-Forge releases new Void Cannon, Last Couple of Days for Era: The Consortium Kickstarter, and Coming on 13th Feb – Era: Lyres Pocket Edition – a £1 Tabletop RPG.

Strife: Shadows & Steam Card Game Up On Kickstarter

When water reaches 212 degrees Fahrenheit (at standard atmospheric pressure), it boils and turns to steam. This causes the space it takes up to expand many times over. There’s a lot of power in that expansion, and it can be harnessed to do all sorts of work. From pushing pistons to turning dynamos. Steam could be one of the most vital products out there. And without it, Steampunk wouldn’t be a thing. Well, thankfully, steampunk is a thing, and you can join in on some great Steampunk card game action with Strife: Shadows & Steam, an expansion to the Strife card game, that is up on Kickstarter now.

Carrion Emissary Previewed For Malifaux

While most people don’t look forward to Monday, many of us can agree that we look forward to the Monday preview that Wyrd posts up. This one continues the look at the various Emissary figures that are coming to the game. I wonder if this guy knows the Tengu guy from earlier…

Wyrd Monday Preview – Lucky Emissary

“In my experience, there’s no such thing as luck.” – Obi
And while I might agree with the fictitious space-monk, in the world of Malifaux, luck certainly does play a role. In fact, Luck has its own Emissary. It’s that which we get a preview of today in Wyrd’s Monday Preview.

Friday Snippets

Well, while it seems like we dodged one bullet here in Georgia the other day, only getting some rain. It’s looking tonight like we might get a bit of accumulated precipitation. Though considering tomorrow it’s supposed to get to 38 and the day after it’s supposed to be sunny and 51, I’m not really worried about it.
I can’t really say the same for the rest of GA. They seem like they’re going freaking nuts. But waddyagonnado?
I’m just looking forward to tomorrow when I’m getting my next tattoo. *squee with excitement!*

Before then, though, we need to get you some bite-sized stories. So let’s go ahead and do that.

Today we have: ArmiesArmy 15mm Cold war Kickstarter Breaking Through Stretch Goals, Khurasan releases 15mm PMCs (or special ops), Gob’z’heroes Breaking Through Stretch Goals On Kickstarter, New Iron Reich Goblin Squad Available From Kromlech, FatMan Productions introduces Awakening: Recon, Prang Raider packs and platoon now released From the Ion Age, The Guildmate Half Rack Tray Available From Tectonic Craft Studios, New alternative driver for Titan-Forge zeppelins, Khurasan releases 15mm Middle Eastern Heavy Weapons set, Alternative Armies: 28mm Undead and Monsters range released with freebies, and New Lava Bike/Cavalry bases Available From Dark Art Miniatures.

Thursday Terrain Corner

We’re getting there, kids. Slowly but surely. The weekend is getting closer.
It was looking like today might’ve had a chance at being a snow day here in Atlanta, but such was not the case. So at least here, we’re not stuck inside. For those of you further north that are stuck inside, why not get out some minis and play a game? And if you’re going to be doing that, you’ll want your table to look nice. Well, that’s where the Terrain Corner comes in.

Today’s stories include: New Orc Terrain Deal From LaserCutCard, Manorhouse Workshop Update#5 – Forgotten Halls: the upper floor inserts in details, and Crossover Miniatures Releases Omura Martian Airship.

Privateer Press Announces Launch Date for Widower’s Wood Board Game

Privateer Press has announced that their next board game endeavor will be funded through Kickstarter. Widower’s Wood will take players into the deep, dark woods in hunt of gators (as Lynyrd Skynyrd plays on Pandora. Thanks for the appropriate mood music, Pandora). While Privateer Press has been on Kickstarter in the past, this is the first time they’re taking a board game project to the crowdfunding website.

Wyrd Posts Monday Malifaux Preview

I love dragons. I’ve been known to pick up games, or to play certain factions within games, just because they have a cool dragon miniature as part of their potential figures they can play. Well, it would seem that if I were to start playing Malifaux, I would want to pick up The Ten Thunders faction, as they’re getting a new dragon, which is being previewed today.

Privateer Press Previews New Sculpts for Thunderhead and Proteus

Sometimes it’s strange to think just how long certain games have been around and how sculpts have changed over the years. I got in pretty much on the ground-floor of Warmachine, back when units still came in “leader” and “trooper” blisters and everything was pewter. You could get certain warcasters only in the starter boxes. Now it’s odd to think that my starter-box Stryker is possibly a rather rare item. Well, it seems my all-metal Thunderhead might be a rare thing at some point, as Privateer Press is showing of a resculpt for it.

Arkazan Greatwing Preview Posted for Wrath of Kings

In Wrath of Kings, Resilience can very much mean the difference between keeping a figure on the field and having them taken off as a casualty. Sure, there are your wounds backing you up, but if you’ve got a good Resilience score, you might never have to worry about taking a wound. Well, in any good arms race, if there’s a good defense, there’s going to be an offense created to try and crack it. That’s where the Arkazan Greatwing comes in. It’s also what we get a preview of today.

Privateer Press Previews New Minion Unit for Hordes

Viktor Pendrake is one of the most-beloved characters in Hordes. The adventuring scholar has been known to players of that universe ever since the first Monstronomicon. He went all around the world, cataloging all the strange and wonderful (and often extremely dangerous) creatures that inhabited the world. Like Privateer Press’ version of Sir David Attenborough, if Sir Attenborough hacked things to pieces with a big sword from time to time. Well, a character like that would certainly attract interesting students. It’s two of them we get a look at today.

Privateer Press Posts New Previews

I realize, as I type this, and the Imperial March starts playing on Pandora, that a good, “good guy gone bad” story is something most love to watch. Some fairly iconic characters were once good guys, but then went a little astray. Is there still a hope for redemption? Only the writers know that for sure. In today’s previews from Privateer Press, along with a bunch of templates and some resculpts, we get a look at both Commander Dalin Sturgis and Sturgis the Corrupted.

Spartan Games Taking Pre-Orders for New Releases

2016 or bust!
Or in the case of Spartan Games, “2016 for busts!”
They’ve started taking pre-orders for the new models they’ll have available on January 27th of next year, and included in the group are a new set of busts for the Halo Fleet Battles game. There’s more than that, of course. To see exactly what, read on.

Wyrd Games Releases Penny Dreadful One Shot – The Ferryman

The holiday season is a good time together with friends and loved ones you might not see all that often. If your friends and loved ones are into gaming, it could be a good time to get a quick RPG session in. But, since you don’t see each-other very often, you probably don’t want to get a whole campaign going. Hence the one-shot adventure. You get together, play through, and that’s that. Of course, if you are part of a long-running campaign, you can throw them in as well from time to time. Wyrd Games has just released The Ferryman, a new Penny Dreadful One Shot adventure for the Through the Breach RPG.

Wyrd Posts Monday Malifaux Preview

It’d totally spaced out, but today is the solstice. For those of us here in the Northern hemisphere, there won’t be a shorter amount of daylight. Starting tomorrow, we get longer days again (and, you know, it’s officially winter). For those in the Southern hemisphere, it’s now officially Summer. I might watch The Endless Summer when I get home. That is, if I don’t decide to watch Nightmare Before Christmas, which is what I was thinking of when looking at today’s Wyrd preview.

Privateer Press Previews Blind Walker For Hordes

It’s been a while since I played any miniatures game very regularly. Unfortunately, I sort of ended up in the “non-gaming” side of town. As such, my Blindwater army for Hordes has been sitting in their AT case, unused for… longer than I care to think about. I really should make an effort to break them back out again, especially since they’ve come out with some pretty cool things over the past several years, and have some new stuff coming, including the Blind Walker.

Privateer Press Previews New Grotesque Units For Hordes

While I’m sure most of us wouldn’t want to be just walking down the street when someone points at us and yells “How grotesque!” These new units for the Legion of Everblight, though, would probably go, “Why, thank you very much.”
They’d probably then rip you apart with their claws, because… y’know… Legion of Everblight.

Privateer Press Announces New Undercity Expansion

Undercity, Privateer Press’ cooperative dungeon crawl adventure game, is getting some new heroes to head into the dank sewers and passageways of Corvis in order to root out the evil that’s starting to form down there. This is the first expansion that’s been announced since the game’s release earlier this year. The new heroes come from the Black River Irregulars (maybe they should eat more fiber).
