Modiphius Releases Space 1889: Mercury Sourcebook

Due to being tidally locked, only one side of Mercury ever faces the sun. This side is blasted by perpetual sunlight and is thus a huge desert, filled with lakes of liquid rock. Meanwhile, on the other side, the perpetually-night side is frozen solid, with methane glaciers. But just in the middle, where the day and night side meet, in a land of perpetual twilight, life thrives. It’s into this land that explorers are headed in Space 1889, and where you can go with the Mercury sourcebook, available now from Modiphius.

Demented Games Previews Sergeant Clark For Twisted

I wish I was faster than I am. I mean, not that I really need to run a lot during the day, but it’s a nice thought. I also hate it when I’m trying to carry things and just don’t have enough hands. In other words, I’m super-envious of Sergeant Clark, a new figure coming in the Wave 2 set of releases for Twisted. He’s got a huge wheel to ride on and 4 arms with which to carry things. Check him out.

Micro Art Studio Announces Alven Yard Faction For Wolsung

The world of Wolsung isn’t some lawless “every mechanic for themselves” sort of place. There’s law and order. The bobbies of Alven Yard are there to keep the peace, even if it takes swinging their trusty truncheons into some ne’erdowell’s head. They’re the new faction coming to the miniatures game, and Micro Art Studio is giving you a look at how they work.

Thursday Terrain Corner

It’s odd. Each day this week I’ve found myself, at some point, looking at the clock and going, “How is it only (time)?! Geeze! Today is taking forever!” And yet, in contradiction of that, I’ve also found myself going, “Whoah! It’s already (day)!? This week is flying by!” So while each day is taking forever, the week is just speeding past. I don’t really get it, but it does mean we’re already most of the way to the weekend. I’m in my Thursday shirt, and that means it’s time to make your gaming tables look as good as possible.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Steampunk Ironclads From Burn In Designs, Tabletop Scenics Giving Away An Orc Quarters, Skull Forge Scenics Halloween Sale Happening Now, Acheson Creations at Fall In! and Millennium Con, New Modern Civilian 28mm – 32mm Vehicles From Antenociti’s Workshop, and New Masons and Brewers Terrain For Guild Ball.

Special Dystopian Wars Bundles Available From Spartan Games

We all know my love of free-to-download rules sets. They give players a chance to read over and possibly try a game before they buy it. So, assuming you like the rules, you then go and pick up a force for yourself. Well, if you’re checking out the Dystopian Wars: Fleet Action fast-play rules, Spartan Games has put together some special bundles so you can get your fleets ready to go.

1879 London Adventure and Sourcebook On Kickstarter

So, having the core rulebook for a game is nice and all, but it’s really just the start, especially if you’re talking about an RPG. In this particular case, we’re talking about 1879. They have a rulebook, but now they’re looking to fund their first full adventure as well as game sourcebook. They’ve got a Kickstarter up and running to do just that now.

Gaslight Victorian Fantasy 3rd Edition Up On Kickstarter

From time to time, a game can use a bit of a makeover. With changing times comes changing tastes in rules and attitudes towards different mechanics. With multiple playthroughs, sometimes a discrepancy is found. Or maybe a game has just lost its polish and could use a good buff. Whatever the case, new editions come out. In this case, Battlefield Press is coming out with the 3rd edition of Gaslight Victorian Fantasy, their alternate-history setting that uses the Savage Worlds game system. The book is up on Kickstarter now.

Privateer Press Posts New Warmachine Previews

We start off the day with a heaping helping of Warmachine. Privateer Press has posted up a bunch of new previews for Cryx and Khador. Plus a Cygnar preview sneaks its way in there (as much as a colossal can “sneak,” I suppose). Let’s take a look.

Monday Terrain Corner

Well, it wasn’t exactly “clock out Friday. Seemingly immediately clock in on Monday” but the whole of the weekend still felt faster than any individual day last week. And I’m still at home for the start of this week. But the internet should be going in at the new office in the next couple of days. Maybe I’ll have direct human interaction again! But in the meantime, let’s get your gaming tables looking as good as possible for when you interact with other gamers while playing some games.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Industrial Zone Terrain From Warzone Studio, HMAS Furious Steampunk Airship Up On Kickstarter, North Pass Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, Manorhouse Workshop Update 13 – Back to the… Dynamic Floors & Sewers, and Heroic Maps – Spacecraft: HLS Freighter “Capabilita” Now Available.

Monday Terrain Corner

Well, it’s Monday and we’re back in the office. Though it’s highly likely this is the last Monday here in this office. We’ll be changing locations soon. No, there shouldn’t be a big gap in posts. Worse comes to worse, with my laptop, I can update from anywhere with wifi. But yeah, we’ve been here for 4 years. It’ll be interesting to be in a new building. But that’s as may be. As for now, we’ve gotta make sure your gaming tables look great.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Deathworld Forest Terrain From Games Workshop, Heroic Maps Foxtail Hills: Ambush Road Now Available, Cobblestone City: Pwork Wargames Gaming Mat Now Available, and Eiffel Extravaganza – Steampunk Paris 1896 Terrain Up On Kickstarter.

Final Day For The World of SMOG: Rise of Moloch On Kickstarter

The time has come. The end is nigh! Time is running short! The end of the Kickstarter campaign for The World of SMOG: Rise of Moloch is upon us! Or, it will be in the next 24 hours (from time of posting, anyway). As is usual for a CMON Kickstarter campaign, they’re way over their funding goal and have unlocked a lot of special content, much of it Kickstarter exclusive. If you don’t want to miss out in this new game in the world of SMOG, you’d better get your pledge in.

CMON Launches Rise of Moloch Kickstarter

The streets of London are choked with thick fog and smoke from the factories. People go about their everyday lives. The undead are used as a labor force, putting many out of a job. Strange creatures, tainted by the runoff from the factories, lurk the alleyways. In all of it, the Cult looks to bring back Moloch, a fire demon from centuries ago. It’s up to the Gentlemen of the Unicorn Club to put a stop to it and save the Queen, London, and the whole world. That’s just where you come in. The World of Smog: Rise of Moloch is CMON’s latest Kickstarter campaign that’s just launched.

CMON Previews Main Factions from Rise of Moloch

CMON is known for their miniatures in their games. I mean, the M stands for “Mini.” In The World of Smog: Rise of Moloch, the game will come with plenty of miniatures. But how do you know they’re going to be the C (that is to say, “Cool”)? Well, you get a preview of them here.

Gamemaster’s Guide for 1879 RPG Up On Kickstarter

The world of Fasa’s 1879 is a bit different than the one you learned about in history class. Here, Albert and Victoria are still in control of the British Empire, but that empire now includes Grosvenor Land. Or, it would include it, if the natives weren’t being so persnickety about it. Found by going through a portal known as the Rabbit Hole, the land is one that seems split off from the rest of history. There’s fertile plains, towering mountains, giant insects, and the Babylonians (who managed to find the place 3000 years earlier). Then there’s the Saurid tribes. They’re lizard-like beings that also inhabit the land. If you’d like to take your players into such a world, you will be able to with the 1879 Gamemaster’s Guide, which is up on Kickstarter now.

Friday Snippets

Well, this rocket-fast week is rocket-fastly coming to an end (yes, I made up a word there. It’s not a very good word, but there it is). The weekend stretches before us like a blank canvas. Personally? I’m going to be playing some Guild Ball, putting together some Kingdom Death (or, hopefully, just playing more Guild Ball 😛 ), and then making a fruitcake (because I actually like fruitcake). But that’s as may be. If I’m going to be doing all that, I should fill up on bite-sized gaming stories to make sure I get through it all.

Today we have: Gamelyn Games announces Heroes’ of Land, Air & Sea, Steampunk 35mm Miniatures from Topexx Dominions Now Live on Kickstarter, HSD Miniatures Expansion 1 on Kickstarter, and Battle Dice Weekend Promo From Bits of War.

Monday Terrain Corner

It’s Monday and I’m back in the office after a long weekend.

Friday Snippets

I technically have the day off today. Why? Because CMON went public on the Hong Kong stock exchange and they’re giving us the day off to celebrate. But the news doesn’t stop just because the office is closed. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor slush, shal keep me from giving you your news (ok, so maybe eating lots of food last week would keep me from doing it, but still…). Gonna be a bit shorter day today, but I still want to get you your bite-sized gaming stories. So let’s get to it.

On the platter today, we have: Ramshackle Games Releases the Boom Wagon, Gods & Goddesses 5th edition supplement coming to Kickstarter in February, Kromlech New Release: Vehicle Hull Points Markers, Raging Heroes Sale Extended Through This Weekend, Aether Captains: Action Cards Update, Liam Games distributes MAGE Company in Israel, and Czacha Games to publish Polish Raid and Trade in 2017.

Thursday Terrain Corner

It’s December. Yesterday, we had some pretty nasty storms roll through here in Atlanta. Today, it’s definitely a bit cooler than it had been. Sure, a high of 54 might not seem too cold to someone in Chicago (where I grew up). But it’s colder than the 70s it’d been the previous couple days. Staying in and playing some games sounds rather nice. So let’s make sure those gaming tables look good.

Today in our Terrain Corner we have: New Firefly Airship from Burn In Designs, Heroic Maps – Explorer: Night Camps Now Available, Deep-Cut Studio releases a new Neo-Tokyo game mat, Infinity Scenery: Pwork Wargames gaming Scenery Sets Now Available, and Crossroads gaming mat by Warzone Studio Now Available.

Thursday Terrain Corner

The first couple days went by slowly, but since then, at least for me, the week’s felt like it’s picked up steam and we’re rushing our way towards the weekend. I know I could use some relaxation time, and I just lined up a day of gaming on Saturday. So that should be good. Hopefully you’ve got plans along those same lines. And if you do, you’ll want your gaming table looking good. And that’s what we’re here to help with now.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Premium Mats From WizKids, 4 new 1:72 Normandy Houses From Najewitz Modellbau, New Market Terrain From Micro Art Studio, New Samhain Gates From Valquiria Studio, and Woodland: Pwork Wargames Fantasy Gaming Mat Now Available.

Midweek Snippets

Not sure why, but this week’s been a time enigma. I woke up this morning going, “wow, already Wednesday!” But since I’ve been here at the office, it’s been the exact opposite. “How is it only 10am? I feel like I’ve been here forever!” What might help is noshing on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Privateer Press Previews January Releases For Warmachine and Hordes

Here in the northern hemisphere, it gets pretty cold in January. Even in many of the regularly-warm sections of the place, it can get kinda cold. Thankfully, Privateer Press is bringing some warmth to your tabletops with a bunch of Protectorate of Menoth releases (there’s also a Retribution and Skorne release scheduled, too).

Upwind RPG Up On Kickstarter

Ages ago, the DownFall caused the world to shatter. Now, adrift in an endless sky, various islands of solid ground hover. Between the skylands, the Kin ply their skyships in the ever-gusting wind. They do a heavy trade in lost technology, all while keeping aware of the Children of the Dark, who inhabit skylands much further down where the light never goes. This is the world of Upwind, a new RPG that’s on Kickstarter now.

Sauriana 54mm Miniatures Game Up On Kickstarter

You get 54mm dinosaur minis.
If that didn’t get you to go check out the campaign for Sauriana, I’m not sure what more you would need. But in an effort to not just make this post a single sentence and a link, I’ll elaborate. The game is set in an alternate version of the 19th century where steampunk scientists calling themselves the Cope Collective do battle with adventurers from the Explorer’s Club (and the dinosaurs they’ve found) as well as the Othniellians (the “cowboys of science”) and the hybrid creatures they are creating. The game is currently up on Kickstarter.

Imperial Skies Rulebook Now Available

It’s the end of the 19th Century. Technological innovations have made it so man and machine have taken to the skies in large numbers. Smoke-belching behemoths ply the airways as they patrol for enemy flying ships. The enemy is spotted! To battlestations! Wings of smaller aircraft take off, looking to intercept the enemy forces. Massive flying battleships, dreadnaughts, cruisers, and destroyers engage in combat far above the Earth’s surface. That’s the story behind Imperial Skies, which is available now.
