Adepticon is the place for miniatures games. Pretty much every gamer knows that. The event is 4 days of tourneys and events. “It’s mind over matter” takes on a whole new meaning when psionics get involved. Midweek Snippets

Quite a blustery day here in Atlanta for the middle of the week. Despite being the first day of spring, it seems as though winter is looking to hang on for a little longer. Liberty A.F.T.E.R. Sci-Fi RPG Now Available

It’s interesting how a single thing can evolve to grow into more items as it goes along. For example, the world of Liberty started off as a podcast. Then, it grew into a graphic novel. Now, they’re letting you join in with Liberty A.F.T.E.R., a new sci-fi RPG setting book using the 5th Edition rules (tweaked, obviously). If you’d like to go adventuring on a far-off distant world that’s been divided into two parts, with one side controlled by an oppressive government while the other is overrun with post-apocalyptic games, you can check out this new book.

Yeah, that headline’s a bit vague. But Warlord Games did one of their “here’s a whoooooooooole ton of stuff!” releases. And so, either it’s put a whole bunch of their mixed games together, or have almost half of today’s posts just about the new stuff. There’s lots of new Viking/Saxon pieces for Hail Caesar. Forgebane Box Set Available to Order From Games Workshop

I feel like we should be listening to Anvil – Metal on Metal when typing up and reading this post.
In the grimdark future of the 41st millennium, the soft, fleshy, biological form is seen by many as old and outdated. Why have bones that can break and are hard to replace when you can just have carbon fiber? Why have a fleshy meat-brain that can get old and deteriorate as opposed to a solid-state hard drive? Both the Adeptus Mechanus and the Necrons have both decided that trading out organic compounds for technological constructs is best. And these two group are facing off in the Forgebane box set, now available to pre-order.

Assault Publishing Releases Shadows in the Void: First Encounters

In this day and age, with so many games out there, it’s impossible to buy and keep up with them all. Even just buying rulebooks for games you want to try can get to be prohibitively expensive. That’s where free trial versions of rules come in. I love when companies do this. And that’s why I’m singing the praises of Assault Publishing. They’ve posted up a free trial version of their Shadows in the Void rules set titled First Encounters. You can download your copy now and “try before you buy.”

New T’au Codex Available To Order From Games Workshop

You know, I remember when the Tau first came out. The joke was that their battlecry was, “AH! Not the face! *cowers and covers face*” Mostly because they were one of the better ranged threats in the game, but couldn’t quite handle melee so well. It’s been a while since I played 40k, so I don’t know if that’s still the case or not. Maybe this new Codex makes them a melee powerhouse. You’ll have to order yours to find out.

Paizo Announces Partnership with Roll20: Virtual Tabletop Coming for Pathfinder and Starfinder Roleplaying Games

I love playing RPGs. However, finding enough locals to play can be tricky. I’ve got friends all over the world that’d love to play, but the commute from Australia, Sweden, and Seattle can be a bit rough. Thankfully, there’s Virtual Tabletops like Roll20. They’ve announced that they’re teaming up with Paizo to support official Starfinder and Pathfinder material on their platform. Crownfall, the first of these, is available to pre-order now.

Palladium Updates Robotech RPG Tactics Shipment Info

Palladium Books and their Robotech RPG Tactics game has been one of the long-drawn-out dramas of the gaming industry for several years now. The game was one of the first really huge successes on Kickstarter. Unfortunately, it’s become also the campaign that’s now looked upon as “the one that really went wrong.” Palladium has posted two updates to the Kickstarter campaign. The long and the short is that Palladium will not be sending out Wave 2 releases. People can substitute Wave 1 items for Wave 2 items, but will need to pay for shipping. Also, Palladium is losing the Robotech license after 30 years.

Fantasy Flight Previews 74-Z Speeder Bikes For Star Wars: Legion

For the longest time, the speeder bike chase on Endor was my favorite part of Star Wars (later usurped by the Battle of Hoth, because I’d seen Jedi about a dozen times before I’d seen Empire). Soon, we’ll be able to recreate that exciting battle on our tabletops with the 74-Z Speeder Bikes for Star Wars: Legion. Just watch out for trees.
