Two New Mindjammer Books Available From Modiphius

Modiphius is expanding the already mind-expanding world of Mindjammer with a couple pretty handy books. The first is the Core Worlds book, giving you all the information you need about the Commonality Core. The other is the Mindjammer Companion. This one takes you to the Outremer subsector, basically as far away as you can get from the core worlds. It’s all about the two extremes in these releases.

Fantasy Flight Games Previews World-Building In Genesys

The Genesys RPG coming from Fantasy Flight Games can be used for any realm, any setting, any era, any location, any… anything, really. But with that blank canvass to start out with, it can be a bit to try and start with that first brush stroke. So… where do you begin? How does world-building happen in the game? English Eerie: Rural Horror Storytelling Game Now Available

There’s a lot of folktales from England. Many of them tell of various horrors that lurk out in the dark countryside. Now, I might not normally suggest playing a game based on those stories by yourself in the dark, but that’s just what you’re supposed to do with English Eerie: Rural Horror Stories. The game is a solo RPG from Trollish Delver Games. You can get your copy now.

Playground Adventures To Create The Last Unicorn RPG

I remember reading The Last Unicorn a couple times. Once for a Creative Literature class. Another time for a Fantasy and Sci-Fi class. I enjoyed the book both times I read it. Though nowhere near as much as some of my friends. The story is a much-beloved tome that will make you feel different about reaching for that Red Bull to get you a little caffeine jolt. Well, Playground Adventures will be coming out with an RPG based on the story next year.

Sine Requie: Snake Eyes Horror RPG Up On Kickstarter

Well, it would seem as though the dead have risen from their graves and are looking to take over the Earth. The living are fighting back as best they can, but it’s a rough world out there. The Catholic Church is seen as a major bulwark against the undead. But a heretical faction is rising up. What will you do? That’s the story behind Sine Requie: Snake Eyes, a horror RPG that’s up on Kickstarter now.

Modiphius Releases Free Conan RPG Conversion Guide

Pretty much all of us have had a game we love go through an edition change. It can be annoying when you’ve got an older supplement that no longer works for the new rules. You can go about trying to update the rules, yourself, but that can be troublesome. Well, for those that liked the older version of the Conan RPG, Modiphius has released a new D20 to 2D20 Conversion Guide. And it’s free.

Wyrd Previews The Bureaucrat For Through the Breach

Bureaucracy makes the world go ’round. It might not initially seem like the most thrilling class to take in a game, the one that has connections and is good at negotiations, but all of those are very useful skills to have. In Wyrd’s Monday Preview, they’re showing off the Bureaucrat specialization for Through the Breach. Go have a look-see.

B-Horror RPG Up On Kickstarter

Sure, Halloween’s just passed, and with it came and went a whole slew of awful (in a good way, to many) horror movies. And, I mean, we’ve pretty much all stared at a screen, biting our nails, and occasionally shouting, “Don’t go in there!” We think about what we’d do in such a situation. Well, the B-Horror RPG gives you the chance to live that out on your tabletop. The game’s up on Kickstarter now.

Dragons Conquer America RPG Up On Kickstarter

I’m a big fan of unique settings and stories for games. There’s lots of fantasy settings and sci-fi settings and such. But there’s not many that I can think of that include 16th century Central America and various dragons and mythical creatures that have started roaming the land. But that’s just what you’ll find in Dragons Conquer America. You’ve got the Conquistadors. You’ve got the Aztecs. But you’ve also got feathered serpents and many other legendary beasts. You can get your copy of the game over on Kickstarter now.

The Chapel on the Cliffs Horror Module Up On Kickstarter

Just because Halloween’s over doesn’t mean you have to put away all the scary stuff until next July 5th (seriously, that’s when I started seeing Halloween stuff this year). You can certainly infuse some horror into your RPG sessions. And a pre-made adventure like The Chapel on the Cliffs is a great way to do so. The module for Pathfinder is up on Kickstarter now.

Praxis: Black Monk RPGs Up On Kickstarter

For those that know him, Postworldgames Jim Pinto is one of the most prolific game designers out there. If you ask him, he’ll tell you he’s got like a billion games that he’s designed (might be a slight exaggeration on my part there). But he has certainly created a few in his time. And up on Kickstarter, he’s got five more related ones right now. They’re set in a strange Fantasy realm where space is warped and time is bendable. Will you be able to put the pieces together and figure out what’s going on? Only time will tell.

Achtung! Cthulhu – Zero Point – Code of Honour Available From Modiphius

Pre-made adventures make the life of the GM just soooooo much easier. Just open up the book and get your players going. You can pick up your copy now.

The Widow’s Tear Location Guide and Bestiary for Starfinder Up On Kickstarter

Space is big. Really big. You might think it’s a long way down the street to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space. Listen, there’s all sorts of strange places out there, and it’s best to have a guide to help you along. One such guide is the Widow’s Tear guide as well as Nightmares From the Void, a couple of sourcebooks for a mostly-unexplored region of space. The books are Starfinder-compatible, and up on Kickstarter now.

Modiphius Releases Children of Orion – The Venu Sourcebook For Mindjammer

In pretty much any game, you’re going to have the good guys and the bad guys. It’s those two opposing forces that creates the narrative. In Mindjammer, the Venu are those bad guys. Everyone is under the hell of the harsh emperor. The new sourcebook for the game, Children of Orion, gives players and GMs a chance to play in that space, either as rebels looking to overthrow the government, or simply as characters who end up getting stuck in an oppressive government. You can pick up your digital copy now.

Plaid Hat Games Previews Stitch for Stuffed Fables

Many of us have had a stuffed animal that got loved to the point of needing some repairs. Hugs and cuddles can lead to requiring some stitching or a new panel sewn on. But such damage might not have been due to hugs, but to the nightly battles that the plushie fought to protect you while you slept. In Stuffed Fables, one such plushie is named Stitch. We get a preview of them here from Plaid Hat Games.

No Country For Great Old Ones RPG Adventure Up On Kickstarter

Most of the time, when you’re playing through an adventure, you just see it from the one side. You’re the heroes cleaning out the cave full of kobolds. A couple RPGs let you play as the Kobolds looking to defend their home from the heroes. No Country for Great Old Ones lets you do both in a single packet. This neo-western adventure for the multiple systems lets you play as both the cops going after bank robbers, as well as the bank robbers (or, with a large group and a good GM, both at once). The adventure is up on Kickstarter now.

The Silence of Hollowind Urban Fantasy RPG Up On Kickstarter

The Silence of Hollowind is a new urban fantasy RPG. For those that don’t know what that is, it means a fantasy world, but set more in cities akin to what you’d find in a noir setting. So less elves hopping between trees and more dwarves in trenchoats heading into their office job. In this particular setting, Magic has been heavily regulated, mostly outlawed, due to various circumstances. Living in such a world and surviving while the oppressive government looks down on you is where you find yourself. The game is up on Kickstarter now.

Fantasy Flight Games Previews Magic System in Genesys RPG

The Genesys system looks to be truly universal. Using it, you can play a medieval fantasy, a modern thriller, or a sci-fi campaign. So it needs to cover a lot of ground, such as magic. But how will this system handle such a wild and broad topic while still making it universal? That’s what you get a look at in this preview from Fantasy Flight Games.

Ghosts of Dathomir Adventure Now Available For Star Wars RPG

Pre-made adventures are great for GMs with a time crunch. I’m currently using one for a game I’m running. Gobblin’ Post-Apocalyptic RPG Up On Kickstarter

Most of the time, when you think of goblins, you think of a fantasy setting. Orcs, elves, forests, dwarves, that kind of thing. Such is not the case in Gobblin‘. Instead, you’re taken into a post-apocalyptic world. Think Fallout meets Tolkien. In this new RPG, you play as a goblin looking to survive in a world that’s been utterly devastated. Will you be able to make it out alive? … probably not. You’re still a goblin, after all. The game is up on Kickstarter now.
