I know. I know. I know. It’s Tuesday, not Saturday. But I was a tad busy Saturday, if you didn’t notice. 😉
So, after flying home yesterday, and then getting around 12 hours of sleep overnight, I’m looking to get back into the swing of things here. Most companies “shut down” during Gen Con, since they were all at the show, but there’s still plenty to catch up with from over the weekend. That starts with the reviews I know you all so desperately desire.
Today we have: Isle of Skye, Zoo Ball, Hunt the Ravager, Evolution, Arena of the Gods, Biotix, Secrets of the Lost Station, Spoils of War, Open Combat Sword Masters, Gothic, The Golden Sails, The Lost Expedition, FourCuatro, Lazer Ryderz, Loot the Body,
Usually, I’m all like, “hey! It’s Saturday! Go get your gaming on!” and, in a way, I’m still that. But I’m also, “It’s the Saturday before Gen Con… … … I Have So Many Things I Still Need To Do!!!” A couple people have asked me, “are you ready for the show?” My answer is, “you’re never ‘ready’ for Gen Con. You’re where you are in your attempt to be ready, and then the show starts happening, whether you got all you needed done or not.” But I am doing my best to have as much done as possible. That includes getting you your reviews I know you all so desperately desire.
This week we have: Nerdy Inventions, Incantris, Anachrony, Lucky Dogs, Wordsy, Deckscape: Test Time, A Dog’s Life, Titan Tactics, Frantic, Have at Thee, Upon a Fable, Sopio, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Shadow War: Armageddon, Massive Darkness, Oh My Goods, Nimbee, Pandemic Legacy Season 1, and The Lost Expedition.
Woo! Saturday! Woo!
I’ve… got nothing, really. I’m about to head over to a friend’s place to game. So let’s just dive into the reviews, shall we? We shall.
This week, we have: Wordstacker, Wordsy, Dragoon, Founders of Gloomhaven, Quest for the Antidote, Tokaido, Marvel Legendary: Noir, Quiver, Thunderbirds, Beasts of Balance, Stop Thief!, Zoo Ball, Automobiles: Racing Season, Between Two Cities: Capitals, Far Space Foundry, Good Cop Bad Cop, Unlock!, The Cohort, Star Scrapper: Cave In, Century: Spice Road, This War of Mine, Barenpark, Heldentaufe, Kingdomino, Pathfinder Adventures app, and Space Invaders Dice.
Umm… read that like Elton John.
Anyway, it’s Saturday (if you hadn’t noticed), so that means it’s time to hang out and play some games. But it’s also time for some reviews.
Today we have: Unearth, Zooscape, Moonquake Escape, Balloon Pop, Purrrlock Holmes, Neuroshima Hex: Death Breath, Deadline, The Butterfly Garden, Sagrada, Mow Money, Century: Spice Road, Slide Blast, Power Play, Monopoly Gamer, and Gang Rush: Breakout.
We’ve made it to Saturday! Woo! *runs around the place with my arms up in the air* Woo!
*takes a moment from my running around to type up the review articles you so desperately desire*
Today we have: Wibbell++, Play Tray UK, Pocket Mars, Master of the Galaxy, Unearth, Evolution: Climate Expansion, Crabs!, Yamatai, Solarius Mission, Skyward, Lorenzo il Magnifico, Exit: The Game, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Board Game, Brutal Kingdom, Burning Rome, and Lords of Waterdeep.
Well, it’s Saturday. My day was looking like it might be a bit dull, but then a friend was like, “Hey, let’s have everyone come over and game.” and I was like, “done and done. I just need to type up a post first.” So, that’s the sacrifice I’m making for you all. I could be on my way to gaming, but I know how much you need to get your review articles. Such is my dedication to this site and its readers. 😛 😉
The Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr., and Roy Acuff are helping, too.
Today we have: Dairyman, Bottlecap Vikings, Cult Following, Game of Trains, Yamatai, The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Balloon Pop, Unearth, Shahrazad, Rhein: River Trader, Dresden Files, Riff Raff, BarenPark, Jaipur, and Sentient.
Mmm, Saturday. Drink it in! … *sip* … tastes like Sobe Citrus Energy… Oh, hey, look! An open Sobe Citrus Energy! Ain’t that a kick in the head? *sip*
But my drinking habits aside, I know you’re here for your weekly dose of reviews. So let’s get to it.
Today we have: Exit the Game, Ascended Kings, Stroop, Component Collector & Dice Tray, DeepWars, Beasts of Balance, Jaipur iOS, Clank! Sunken Treasures Expansion, Isle of Monsters, Qwinto, Downforce, Century: Spice Road, Fistful of Lead – Reloaded, Watson & Holmes, and Zooloretto.
Blame Canada (Day), but it seems that the post got eaten by the system. It happens occasionally, but it’s alright. We can rebuild it. We can make it stronger, faster, better… Or mostly the same but with this new intro.
Anyway, this week we have: Werewords, Caverna: Cave vs Cave, Not Alone, Evolution: The Beginning, Black Hat, Big Bang 13.7, Kingdomino, Match Madness, Lady Richmond, Century: Spice Road, Homes: 2 Player Card Game, Coldwater Crown, Quadropolis, and This War Of Mine.
I’m an unabashed fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I put it in the same league as something like Animaniacs and Tiny Toons, where, sure, I may not be the real target audience, but I feel it’s a quality cartoon product that has enough references to keep me interested (they dress up as the characters from Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas at one point, for example). So yes, I do also enjoy the Tails of Equestria RPG book and, as soon as I could, ordered my copy of The Curse of the Statuettes, the first full-length adventure for the game. It got here the other day, and I figured, for my 25,000th post (more on that later), I’d give it a (spoiler-free) review. So let’s get into it.
So let’s head out into the badlands and take a look at The Curse of the Statuettes.
It’s Saturdaaaaaaaaaaay! Woooooooo!
Due to the rain, my initial plans for the day fell through. But I’m hoping to rebound and maybe hang out with some people here and just chill. Yes, just me, them, and a whole pan of homemade banana pudding cheesecake…
But at the moment, I know what you all really want are the day’s reviews.
Today we have: Ethnos, Founders of Gloomhaven, Macroscope, Dragonstone Mine, Sheep & Thief, Gyrating Hamsters, Pests, Potion Explosion iOS, Salem, Exit: The Game, Lorenzo il Magnifico, Covil, Meduris, Saltlands, The Flow of History, Sagrada, The Red Dragon Inn: Battle for Greyport, and Ulock!.
And we’ve made it to another weekend. I’m sure a lot of you are up at the LGS, trying out 8th Edition 40k. But between those games and talking about all the stuff you’re going to do with your army, here’s the regular grouping of reviews that I know you all love so much.
Today we have: Small World, Galactic Warlord Battle For Dominion, Dice Hospital, Shahrazad, Dark Souls, Bushido, Dungeon Crawler The Thorn Expansion, Star Trek: Ascendancy, VS 2PCG Legacy Expansion, Alchemists The King’s Golem Expansion, Super Dungeon Explore Arena, Terra Mystica App, Tomb Trader, Jaipur App, Bio-Logic, Dragon Tower, Gnomi, and Zombie Tower 3D.
I know. I know. This was supposed to go up yesterday.
Well, WordPress has been flaky lately and it missed its posting window. Hence why it’s going up now with a reworded opening talking about it not being posted on Saturday instead of saying, “I’m going to the LGS and gonna pick me up a Minx for Guild Ball!”
But anyway, without any further delay, today we have: Great Western Trail, Click Click Boom, Radiant, Potion Explosion: The Fifth Element expansion, Rone: Races of New Earth, Legendary Showdown, Pocket Madness, Quadropolis, Rocky Road a la Mode, Race for the Galaxy iOS, Warhammer 40k: 8th Edition, Warhammer 40k: Dark Imperium, Port Royal, Flying Kiwis, and Magic Maze.
Well, now that you’ve gone and gotten your name on the list to get your copy of the new edition of 40k, let’s get down to business with the regular affairs for Saturdays. That is, the Review Roundup.
Today we have: Carcosa, Pandemic, 12 Realms, 12 Realms: Ghost Town, Legendary: Big Trouble in Little China, Imperial Settlers: Aztecs Expansion, Space Invaders: Dice, Coal Baron: The Great Card Game, Saga of the Northmen, Wettlauf nach El Dorado, Get Rich Quick, Critters Below, and Honshu.
But it’s not just any Saturday.
It’s the Saturday of a 3-day weekend.
Hopefully, you’re out, enjoying yourselves somewhere. Be it gaming, out at the lake, a camping weekend, or whatever. But if you’re stopping by here, I know it’s because you still crave those gaming reviews. So let’s get to them.
Today we have: Knot Dice Deluxe, Arcadia Quest: Pets, Hoyuk, Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia, Realm Master, Frostgrave: Ulterior Motives, Anansi and the Book of Stories, 3 to 4 Headed Monster, Histrio, Draconis Invasion, Green Deal, Difference, Terra Mystica iOS, Scum of the Earth, and The Campaign for Kharkov: October 1941.
Well, it’s almost like the week is getting back on schedule, even though it’s Saturday. I woke up. I got groceries. I’m now typing up the Review Roundup in my living room while listening to music and contemplating the rest of my day. Sort of nice to get things back to how they should be. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit. Anyway, as it’s Saturday, it’s time to get you those review articles I know you all so desperately desire. So let’s get to it.
Today we have: Knot Dice Deluxe, Via Nebula, Lords of Hellas, 12 Realms: Dungeonland, 1754 Conquest: The French and Indian War, Star Realms: Colony Wars and United Expansions, Tournament of Towers, Manhattan Project: Energy Empire, Tesla vs. Edison: Duel, Balloon Pop, Terra Mystica App, Star Trek Panic, Sagrada, Yokohama, Ravage: Dungeons of Plunder, and EXIT: The Game – The Secret Lab.
Hey everyone! As you’re reading this, I’m enjoying Day 2 of the CMON Expo. If you’re in the Atlanta area, head down and check it out. It’s a great time had by all. Can’t make it? Be sure to check out the TGN Facebook Page for updates about all the stuff going on here throughout the day.
As for here and now, it’s time for those game reviews I know you all love so much.
Today we have: Zombie Tsunami, Arctic Scavengers, Dastardly Dirigibles, Ivion, Darkrock Ventures, Battle for Greyport, Phalanxx, V-Commandos, Mangaka, Onirim iOS, Twenty One, 3 to 4 Headed Monsters, Neroshima Hex: Mephisto, Veggie Garden, Barcelona: The Rose of Fire, Dragoon, Path of Light and Shadow, Watson & Holmes, Steam Works, and Gyrating Hamsters.
Hey kids. It’s Saturday! If you’re like me, you’re at the LGS, hanging out and talking/playing games. I hope you’re doing that, anyway. I mean, it’s what Saturday’s for!
It’s also for reviews. So let’s get to it.
This week we have: Heldentaufe, Monster Trap, Galaxy of Train: New Order, Lords of Hellas, Bestiary 6, New York Slice, Orphan Black, Sailing Towards Osiris, Perdition’s Mouth: Abyssal Rift, Moons, Adrenaline, and Terraforming Mars.
Happy International Tabletop Day, everyone! *party cannon*
I hope you’re celebrating in style. I know some of you are out at KingdomCon. Others of you are at PeteCon. Still others are just hanging out at your LGS getting your gaming on. Well, however you’re celebrating, I hope the dice/cards/whatever are in your favor. Remember, it’s all about having fun and making friends.
Anyway, if you’re wondering what game you should play today, maybe some of these reviews can help out.
This week we’ve got: Firefly: Crime and Punishment expansion, Strife: Legacy of the Eternals, Clans of Caledonia, Quartz, World’s Fair 1893, Game of Trains, The Captain is Dead, The Walking Dead: All Out War, Farsight, Martians: A Story of Civilization, Zephyr: Winds of Change, Exit The Game, Morels, and Perry Miniatures’ Confederate Infantry.
Hey everyone. I’m sure a lot of you are reading this after getting back from Salute. If that’s the case… *envy-waves in your direction* I wish I’d been there. Maybe someday. But for those of us in the States, Australia, and elsewhere that can only live vicariously through your photos and videos, we wish we were there. In the meantime, let’s get some reviews.
This week we have: Lotus, The Exiled: Siege, Ancient Terrible Things, Ticket to Ride: Rails and Sails, and Hanamikoji, Yamatai.
Yes, I know it’s Tuesday and not Saturday. But Saturday I was preoccupied wondering how he (Jonah) eats and breathes, and other science facts. And then Monday I was recouping from the weekend of laughing my ass off. So today’s going to be a bit of a catch-up day. Anyway, let’s get to it.
Today we have: Phara-Oh-Oh!, Res Publica: 2230AD, Quests of Valeria, Vinhos Deluxe Edition, Mess Machine, Tokaido App, T.I.M.E Stories: Expedition: Endurance, and Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle.
It’s Saturday, the day that’s full of possibilities (Ok, so every day is full of possibilities, but it just feels moreso on Saturday to me). With any luck, your day is full of gaming.
But at the moment, I know you’re all interested in what sort of reviews we’ve got for you. Well, I won’t make you wait any longer (Saturday won’t go on forever, after all).
Today we have: Dice of Crowns, Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Mummy’s Mask, The Undercity: Black River Irregulars Expansion, Legendary: Deadpool Expansion, Firefly: Crime and Punishment Expansion, Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle, Tokaido App, Gloomhaven, Potion Explosion App, Planetarium, V-Commandos, Maximum Apocalypse, Jump Drive, The Colonists, and Stinker.
And we’ve come to another Saturday. Ah, the possibilities for today. I’m sure a lot of you are spending it at Adepticon. Me? I’ve picked up a bunch of snacks and some drinks and am going to watch some MST3K on Netflix. Because I’m cool like that. 😉
Anyway, I know what you’re all here for isn’t my choice of fizzy beverage, but for reviews. So let’s get to it.
Today we have: Realm-Master, Unlock, WizKids Unpainted Miniatures, Arkham Horror The Card Game, Bushi No Yume, Ronin, Element, Guns & Steel: Renaissance, Bloc by Bloc, The Oracle of Delphi, Dragoon: The Rogue and Barbarian Expansion, RPG Coasters, Kingsport Festival: The Card Game, Running With the Bulls, Magic Maze, Faith: A Garden in Hell, and Moons.
Ah, Saturday. And it’s Games Day at the Milton Library. So, of course, that means it’s raining. Funny how that seems to be happening. 3rd weekend of the month, we’ve got some rain. But, seeing as I like rain, it’s all good. Rain and gaming. Seems great. Anyway, we’ve got our reviews for you here. Let’s get to them so I can go back to gaming.
Today we have: Airecon 4, Faith: A Garden in Hell, Original Laser Design Dark Age MDF Buildings, Banzai, Battles in the Age of War, Killer Katanas II, Mystic Miracles iOS, Incorporated, Grand Prix, Deep Sea Adventure, Ethnos, This Belongs in a Museum, Galactic Rebellion, and BrilliAnts.
It… was quite a week, I have to say. Very busy. With all the goings-on for GAMA, I almost forgot that PAX East was going on. Hope everyone is having a good time out there. I’m, obviously, not there. I will be at Adepticon in a couple weeks, though. That’ll be fun. Love going back to Chicago (my homeland). But that’s a bit away. In the meantime, let’s get you the reviews you so desperately desire.
Today we have: Inis, Dungeons of Infinity, War of the Ring: Anniversary Edition, Warhammer Quest: Shadows Over Hammerhal, Fidelitas, JrassAttack, Wok on Fire, Avalance at Yeti Mountain, Citadels, Council of Blackthorn, Escape from Colditz, Stratos, Adrenaline, Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition, Flag Dash, Snowblind: Race for the Pole, The Money Pit of Oak Island, and Dice Stars.
Well, it seemingly took an eternity, but it is now Saturday.
And, as I expected, from the time I clocked out until even now seems to have gone by very quickly. So, by the time I finish this, I guess it’ll be time for Monday’s Terrain corner…
But that’s as may be.
Today we have: Cauldron Master, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows Of The Past Board Game Review, April O’Neil Hero Pack For Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of the Past, Dice City, Picassimo, The Who Were 8, Cosmic Run: Rapid Fire, Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age, Dragoon, Dubai: Rebuild the Ruins, Mage Wars: Paladin vs. Siren, Firefly: Crime and Punishment, and Frostgrave Expansions.
Hello Saturday! How are you? Is everything going well? Of course it is! It’s Saturday!
So, let’s not wait around. Let’s get right to the reviews so we can get back to it being Saturday. Personally, I’m thinking of watching a movie and questioning Netflix’s algorithms in what “more like this” really means…
Today we have: The Pirate Republic, Kingdomino, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Board Game – Shadows of the Past, Adrenaline, Ave Roma, Hero Realms, Food Truck Champion, Sorcerers’ Skirmish, Carcassonne: Amazonas, Oceanos, The Flow of History, Citadels, Broken Legions, Haspelknecht, and GKR: Heavy Hitters.
First part of the weekend is already a success. The pizza last night was pretty much everything I could’ve hoped for. It’s nice when a week-long cooking project turns out good (ok, the pizza doesn’t really take a week to make, but parts I was able to do ahead of time like render the bacon and such was done along the way, instead of doing it all last night). Today it’s all about the Board Game Day at the Milton Library. If you’re in the Atlanta area, stop on by.
But that’s for later (well, later to me now as I’m typing this, not later from the time you read this, since I’m typing this at 6am and will be gaming at 2pm when it posts).
Right now we’ve got reviews of: London, Colosseum, Ophidian 2360, Ore-Some, Critter Combat, Gloomhaven, Runebound: The Gilded Blade Expansion, Mage Wars: Arena Paladin vs Siren Expansion, Conquest of Speros, Castles of Burgundy, Flamme Rouge, and Ponzi Scheme.
Don’t know about you, but I’m going to be putting together a pair of Guild Ball players (Granite and Veteran Siren) that Ray picked up for me at LVO. Then I’m gonna make my own protein bars (like Clif bars, for those that know about them) since I’m trying to get from the 110 stone that I currently am down to maybe an even 100. I also finished watching Black Books, so I need to find something else to watch. But that’s as may be. What you all want right now are reviews. Let’s get those to you.
Today we have: Multiuniversum, Multiuniversum: Project Cthulhu, Hero Realms, Hero Realms Character Packs, The Mountains Rise, Legends of Andor: Journey to the North, Band Manager: Backstage Clash, Age of Sigmar, Imhotep, Cavern Tavern, Superhot, Forged in Steel, The Civilized Guide to Tabletop Gaming, Pirate Lords, and Steel Arena.
Hello Saturday. The Chuck Mangione from yesterday has switched over to Danger Doom, because that’s the sort of mood I’m in. Other than that… not much happening on this side of the screen. A chill Saturday on a chilly Saturday here in Atlanta (seriously, we’ve actually got winter for a couple days before it’s supposed to get back up to the 60s next week). But for the moment, let’s get you some game reviews.
Today we have: Runebound: Fall of the Dark Star, Runebound: Caught in a Web, Castle Panic: Engines of War, Pests, Gloomhaven, Mysterium Digital Edition, Insider, Hands in the Sea, Villages of Valeria, and Covert.
Hey everyone. Congratulations as you’ve made it to the weekend. Saturday is here and that means it’s time to sit back and relax some. Hopefully you’ve got something gaming-related going on. I might be working (on a super-secret project that’s set to revolutionize the gaming world!!! … 😉 ), but it’s still at least gaming related. I also have a fresh 12-pack of Mt. Dew Pitch Black. So it’s a good day. But anyway, let’s get to those reviews I know you all love so much.
Today we have: Bite Nite, Papayoo, Dungeon Busters, Steampunk Rally, Castle Panic Engine of War Expansion, Colt Express (iOS), Gangs of Cammorragh, Star Wars: Destiny, New York Slice, Burano, Mysterium App, Seasons, and Tyrants of the Underdark.
It’s another beautiful day here in Atlanta. The clouds are out. It’s raining. There was dense fog this morning.
What? You don’t think that’s beautiful weather?
You know what they call a place that has nothing but “beautiful, sunny days”? The desert. Relatively few things live there.
You know what they call a place that has rain all the time? The rain forest, some of the most bio-diverse and bio-dense areas of the planet! So there!
Ok… that got weirdly antagonistic for no reason. Maybe I should just go check out some game reviews. Yeah. That’s a good idea.
Today we have: Everzone, Portal, The Captain Is Dead, Triumvirate of the Imperium – Inquisitor Greyfax, Triumvirate of the Imperium – Belisarius Cawl, Raise Your Goblets, The Three Little Pigs, Concordia, Adrenaline, Hands in the Sea, Neuroshima Hex iPad Edition, 7 Wonders: Duel, Klask, Rise of Mafia, and Cavern Tavern.
It’s a beautiful Saturday here in Atlanta. The sun’s shining. It’s warm outside.
… Sounds like a perfect time to go to the LGS and stay inside, playing games all day! 😀
And to those dealing with ice up in the midwest, best to stay inside and play some games all day.
Long story short, it’s a good day to play some games. But what games? Well, you could check out these reviews and pick from there.
Today we have: Ulm, Orcs Must Die, Titan Race, Tavern’s Tales, Manhattan Project: Energy Empire, Doom, Flash Point: Extreme Danger, Praetor, The Daedalus Sentence, Twilight Struggle- Digital Version, Imhotep, Forged in Steel, Mi Tierra, Saloon Tycoon, Legendary Inventors, Flammer Rouge, Watch Your Mouth, Draconis Invasion, Ice Cool, Celestia, The Foreign King, Sub Terra, Wasteland Justice, Takenoko, and Drinking Quest Journey Into Draught.
Well, one down and 51 to go. We’re a week into 2017 and it’s been a bit of an odd one, at least for me. No single day was “an average day,” really. Whether I was working from home or had to go to the repair shop, or just had the day off, I’m somewhat looking forward to just a “usual routine” next week.
Anyway, that’s as may be. Right now, it’s time to get you the reviews you so desperately desire.
Today we have: Lift It, Figopedia, Codenames Pictures, Dungeon Roll, A Fake Artist Goes to New York, High Treason!, Roll Player, Fief: France 1429, Age of War, Betrayal at House on the Hill: Widow’s Walk Expansion, and Colt Express iOS.
Happy New Year, everyone! 2016 is finally over and 2017 stretches ahead of us. What will the new year bring? Hard to say, really (man, if only I knew how to tell the future…). But I hope it means a lot of gaming for you. But what games? Well, how about checking out some reviews to know that you buy just the ones you’ll like.
Looks like a lot of reviewers are taking a break for the holidays. We’ve just got one for you today.
It’s Christmas Eve and the first night of Hanukkah, so there’s a good chance you’re hanging out with friends and family. Hopefully that includes playing games of some sort. But how do you know which game might be the best? Good thing there’s reviews out there. And that’s just what we’re here with now.
Today we have: Power Grid, The Bermuda Crisis Discovery Dawning, Grand Prix, Colt Express App, Red7 App, Legendary Inventors, Congo, Master of Orion, Final touch, Great Western Trail, Captain Carcass, and The Networks.
