Rackham has announced a 3 for 2 deal on their figures in their Rackham Legends line.

From their announcement:

As a consequence of the increasing price of metal, the prices of the Legends range will increase on 1st September 2008. The Legends range offers miniatures for the games Confrontation: The Age of the Rag´narok and AT–43.

Nevertheless, before that date, Rackham is glad to present offer its players a summer deal: For three products from the Legends range ordered before 1st September, the cheapest one comes free. Rackham have posted a PDF preview of the new Therian H/BABEL faction that will be introduced in the upcoming Operation Frostbite Campaign book.

From their announcement:

H/Babel, a virtual intelligence born from the EMI Grid, has used her universal access to Therian archives to bypass the lock on Élysée and make the planet her refuge. H/Babel now aspires to build an army. However, recent events have boosted the interest of the other peoples of the galaxy and are threatening H/Babel´s plans.

The renewed White Stars activity around Élysée attracted the attention. Information requests concerning Élysée resurrected the lost threads concerning the nanovirus of Élysée The mathematical projections of the Therian strategists all led to the same conclusion: the outcome of the conflict on Élysée will decide the future of the interstellar war.

The Red Lioness

Swordsmen
Swordsmen are the blade that the Barhans thrust into their enemy´s side…Or against which enemy troops break like waves. Their two handed sword gives them rare striking power. But still it is nothing compared to their master strike.

Supported by a bard whose spell guarantees they will not fail a roll, they also have access to a war staff. The musician makes them harder to touch and the standard bearer reinforces their determination in combat. If there ought to be only one kind of elite soldiers, it ought to be the swordsmen.

Reapers of Alahan
The reapers of Alahan are young nobles who have developed a combat style on the margin of traditional techniques. Without armor or steed, they have enriched the fencing of swordsmen with the art of gun fighting, integrating pistols into their own way of fighting a war. Dauntless and impertinent, the reapers of Alahan will disobey orders and rush through enemy lines in search of some feat of arms to accomplish. Their survival is as much to do with courage as with stealth and boldness: it isn´t uncommon to see reapers serenely strolling through an enemy encampment, relying on their opponent´s stupefaction and the cheek of their move to avoid combat.

As part of issue 94 of the Cry Havoc Online newsletter Rackham has announced the availability of a large resin ruined temple scenery piece at a price of €149.00.

“Mortals have always erected buildings in honor of their gods and to shelter the institutions of their civilization. Fantasy Flight Games have posted a new AT-43 strategy article looking at the cost benefits of three-star infantry in AT-43.

The special rules for Dragomira O-3 are included in the AT–43 Campaign: Frostbite campaign book.

Rackham have posted a PDF preview of the new U.N.A. Morningstar faction that will be included in the Operation Frostbite campaign book.

From their announcement:

The U.N.A. are interested in Élysée: the Morningstar agency discovered many remains there well before the Karman established their colonies. Therian buildings, clearly more primitive than those on Ava, were found at the planet´s poles. Their exploration would allow the U.N.A. to understand how doom devices work.

The first battles have revealed the presence of the precious elysium mines. The lure of the discovery was the initial incentive for Morningstar´s intervention: obtaining information on revolutionary metallurgy, a domain where the Red Blok still holds a significant lead, would constitute a true master stroke.

The original U.N.A. plan was to land at the North Pole in order to establish a forward operating base. The agency´s military failure to do so has forced it to issue a request for assistance. Central Command, M.Ind and Union, as well as other smaller agencies, have dispatched forces to Élysée. Who could ignore the elysium fields and the secrets of the doom devices?

Fantasy Flight Games have announced that the price of the Griffin Knight of Redemption Unit Box has been changed to $39.99 US. The price of the Attachment box remains the same.

Rackham and Asmodée have entered into an agreement to have Asmodée distribute Rackham’s miniature products in Europe.

Fantasy Flight Games have posted an article by Will Shick, Moving to the House of Plastic, that details his conversion of his Confrontation 3 Wolfen force to a Wolfen army for use with Confrontation: The Age of the Rag’narok.

Fantasy Flight Games have announced that they will be releasing the Operation Damocles campaign book in October.

Fantasy Flight Games have posted another beginners article for AT-43, titled Getting Started in AT-43, that guides gamers through the Operation Damocles boxed set and onto their first game.

Probably not content aimed at your average TGN reader (so no grousing about it :-) but perhaps of interest to people new to the hobby.

Fantasy Flight Games have posted a new AT-43 article exploring some of the tactics for using the Karman army.

As part of Cry Havoc Online Issue 90, Rackham has placed an extract from the AT-43 Operation Frostbite campaign book (PDF link) onto its website. There is also a preview of the UNA Cobra M8 combat strider.

Rackham has published previews of the Scorpion Dasyatis Evolution and Wolfen Sylvan Animaes as part of Cry Havoc Online issue 89.

The latest issue of Rackham’s Cry Havoc Online newsletter has a preview of the Red Blok Hussar combat strider for AT-43.
