Miniature Monthly Painting Tutorials Up On Patreon

Those of you who visit this site regularly are no stranger to crowdfunding. Indiegogo and Kickstarter are just a part of the gaming landscape now. But there’s other crowdfunding websites you might not know of as well. One is Patreon. There, you aren’t necessarily paying for a game you’ll get in the mail, but you’re funding an ongoing project. Well, a new one just started literally today that will help everyone become better painters. Miniature Monthly is up and running.

Temperatures are starting to chill outside. Here in Atlanta, that means it’s only getting up into the low 80s in the afternoon. Of course, people here are thus saying, “it’s freezing” outside. Waddyagonnado? Well, maybe you’ll get a cup of hot cocoa, wrap up in a big, fluffy blanket, and read the October issue of Wyrd Chronicles, which is now available.

Wyrd’s Rotten Harvest Painting Contest Starts Tomorrow

Tomorrow starts what is the favorite month of the year for many of my friends. I don’t think it’s that bad, either, though I think I slightly prefer November. But that’s as may be, it’s a lot of my friends’ favorite month because, of course, of the Rotten Harvest painting contest that Wyrd does! Ok, that might not be the reason, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

Photos From Day 3 at Expo

All good things must come to an end. That is the way of it. Such was the case yesterday with the CMON Expo. I realize I’m going to seem rather biased for saying it, but it really is my favorite show of the year. Unlike the bigger shows, the Expo is designed to be low-key. Other shows you might see your favorite sculptor or game designer or painter in passing in the hall, or get to just hear them talk in a packed panel room, but at Expo you can just stand around and talk with them for a couple hours, or even better, play a game that they designed right there with them.

Anyway, here’s another set of photos. These were taken during the final day of the show.

For those who are interested, Forge World is running their first Warhammer Community Painting Competition. It’s looking like they’re going to make them a monthly thing.
