Fantasy Flight Previews Lando’s Falcon For X-Wing

For many of you out there, I’m sure you’ve gone to see the new Solo movie (whether you saw it with other people or not). In it, we get a bunch of background on Star Wars‘ most famous smuggler, along with how he got the iconic ship, The Millennium Falcon. Well, back when Lando had it, it was much different looking. And that version will be making its way to X-Wing tabletops. We get a look at it in this preview (note: if you’ve not seen the movie and are one of those “OMG! If I know even more than just the title of the movie, the whole thing is ruined and my life is OVER!” types, I don’t know if there’s any spoilers about the film, but you’ve been possibly warned. Don’t come cryin’ to me).

Fantasy Flight Announces Heroes of Terrinoth Card Game

Those dungeons aren’t going to delve themselves. Those goblins aren’t going to just stop raiding the local towns. Those monsters aren’t just going to decide they don’t want to smash everything in existence. Those evil wizards aren’t going to suddenly decide to not take over the world. That’s why Terrinoth needs heroes. And that’s just what you’ll become in Heroes of Terrinoth, a new cooperative card game coming from Fantasy Flight Games.

Thursday Terrain Corner

The work week continues along. We’ve made it to Thursday. We can make it the rest of the way. I’ve been realizing the last couple days that I have absolutely nothing planned for this weekend. Which, after several that were pretty busy, might be just up my alley. I’m sure I’ll fill the time up with something. But what I’m filling your feed up with at the moment is terrain stories.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: High Edgmoor Hall Map Available From Heroic Maps, Acheson Creations 20% Sale on New Adventurer’s Corner Product Category, and New Maps Coming From Paizo.

Steamforged Previews Veteran Sakana For Guild Ball

So, we had the Exiles, the various Union members that left for other Guilds. The next set coming for Guild Ball is The Faithful. They’re players who stuck with their teams (for the most part, there’s Spigot in there). In this case, it’s Sakana. A pirate’s life is for him (yarr arr yarr. I loddie the hotpants). We get a look at how he’s changing from his original incarnation in this preview.

Free Nations Live Launch Weekend Starts Tomorrow

Time Zones are a funny thing. When it’s an hour or two, it’s just kinda like, “yeah, whatever.” But then you hit that point where there’s people already in tomorrow when you’re still in today. As Battlefront is over in New Zealand, they’re well ahead of those of us in the US and UK, and are often in the next day when many of us are just getting going with our regular routine. This means that they’ll begin their Live Launch Weekend for Free Nations tomorrow (well, tomorrow for most of us, 2 days from now for them, which is still just tomorrow, but… You know what, never mind. Just go to their site, damnit).

New Heroes and Mini Boss Coming For Super Dungeon

Next week, a pair of new heroes and a new mini-boss will go on sale for Super Dungeon from Soda Pop Miniatures/Ninja Division. The first hero is the Celestial Healer, great for making sure that your other heroes don’t die. Though it’s a little too late for the Gloomborn Champion. He’s already dead, but he’s not letting that keep him down. Finally, the new boss is Hecate Vilethorn, and evil Centauress.

Plaid Hat Games Previews Shadow Clan For Crystal Clans

I… I’m attacking the darkness!
In this case, that’s not such a silly saying, as Plaid Hat Games is looking to expand your options in Crystal Clans with the Shadow (The Shadow! The Shadow!) Clan. But what do these sneaky rogues bring to the battlefield? In this preview, we get an in-depth look at just that.

Fantasy Flight Previews 1.4 FD Laser Cannon And E-Web Blaster For Star Wars: Legion

The Battle of Hoth scenes in Star Wars introduced a lot of new elements to the universe. In the opening salvos, we saw the Rebels defending their base using the 1.4 FD Laser Cannon (even as its shot did basically hit an AT-AT in the knee and seemingly do nothing at all). It then blows up. Then, a little later, when the Falcon is trying to take off, we see the Imperials setting up their E-Web blaster. Again, this gets blown away before it really has a chance to do anything. Well, hopefully their on-screen appearances are not indicative of what they’ll do on your Star Wars: Legion battlefields.

Fantasy Flight Games Previews Podracing in Star Wars: Destiny

“Objection, your honor! The podrace was pretty cool.”
Generally the only thing that most people can agree on that was cool in the Prequel trilogy for Star Wars, Podracing (that seems to have about a 50% mortality rate per race, which makes you wonder how there’s ever enough racers to hold an event, but that’s beside the point) is coming to Star Wars: Destiny. In this preview, we get a look at some podracers, their pods, and how they will work in the game.

Midweek Snippets

This “it’s a regular week again” continues along. Actually, so far, it doesn’t feel as long as last week felt. Granted, I’ve found Wednesday tends to be the long day out of the bunch, so we’ll see how this one continues along. But if we’re going to make the long slog back to the weekend, we need to have plenty of rations in the form of bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Brigade Models Releases New Hammer’s Slammers Models and New Swarm Battle Rulers From Kromlech.

The Board Game Book Up On Kickstarter

Confession: I prefer non-fiction to fiction, especially when it comes to reading. I would much rather read a history book than a story. So some novel series that’s catching everyone’s attention never catches mine. However, when I see something that’s an analysis of board games of the recent year, I’m like, “Oooh, that’s something I’d like to check out.” And that’s just what we’ve got here. The Board Game Book takes a look at this previous year’s biggest games. The book is up on Kickstarter now.

CMON Posts New Cthulhu: Death May Die Preview

In Cthulhu: Death May Die, the cultists are winning. They have started their ritual. The Old Ones are waking up. The Earth will surely plunge into chaos and disorder… or will it? Yes, it might be too late to fully stop the ceremony, but that doesn’t mean all hope is lost. It’s just, like, 99% lost. CMON has posted up another preview for the game, giving us a bit more information on how it all works.

WizKids Announces Seal Team Flix

While Gaia’s Hope might seem like just a bunch of tree-hugging hippies, they’re really an eco-terrorist organization looking to solve things their way. Plaid Hat Games Previews Fang Clan For Crystal Clans

Well, I mean, just shy of a bear clan, I would want to be part of the puppy clan in Crystal Clans. Though I’m not entirely sure the Fang Clan appreciates being called the puppy clan… maybe they’d be ok with doggo clan? I don’t know. But these clan members are more than the happy scrappy hero pups, they’re wolf warriors, and we get a preview of them here today.

Paizo Previews Skill Changes In Pathfinder 2.0

Skills. They’re those things you use when you’re not just hacking some poor kobold or goblin apart. With Pathfinder 2.0 coming up, people are wondering how this vital part of the game will be changed. Well, in this preview, we get a bit of a look.

Enchanted Realms RPG Up Online

One of the things that can be a barrier to trying out a new game is the cost. Sure, you’d like to try that new system, but you don’t want to shell out $30, $45, or sometimes up to $100 for a book to find out. Thankfully, Enchanted Realms doesn’t cost that much. It’s actually free. But, if you do like the system, it’d be nice if you could donate to the cause and keep the game alive. So why not go check it out?

It’s back to the office. The weekend was good, with good gaming with good friends (and thanks to anyone that stopped by the Twitch stream), but it’s time to get back to writing articles and proofing rulebooks. But another weekend will be had, and more gaming will be had, and with gaming comes gaming tables. And to make sure yours look good, let’s get to some terrain articles.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Coastal Defense Bunker Available From Warlord Games, Caves Added to Dungeonfog, and Viking Half-Timbered Church Released From Acheson Creations.

A Look Into Making History of the World

A board game doesn’t just spring, fully-formed from the head of a game designer. Sure, they might have a pretty good idea of what a game will be, but it’s actually quite a long process where the final version might be leagues from the original. In this article, Z-Man Games gives us a look at the design process behind one of their upcoming releases, a new edition of History of the World.

Privateer Press Previews New Warmachine/Hordes Releases

As the temperature continues to rise here in Atlanta, I know I wish it was actually getting closer to winter. Granted, I’m not sure I want a winter like a Khador winter (because Khador winter don’t stop), but they also have giant Man-o-War suits to keep them warm. Also used to those Khador winters is the Legion of Everblight, since they hail from the same region of Immoren. Privateer has posted up previews of a bunch of new Men-o-War units, as well as one more Legion preview for you.

Fantasy Flight Previews Baron Zachareth For Runewars

The kingdoms of man are fighting against elves, undead, and demon-creatures from the wastes. In these times, some morals are lost, or at least, past deeds are glossed over. Such is the case of Baron Zachareth. To some, a saint. To others, a demon (though different from the demon-creatures). Either way, he’s coming to the tabletop for Runewars.

New Bolt Action Kits and Bundles From Warlord Games

Bolt Action has been Warlord Games’ flagship game for quite some time now. And a mainstay of the game is the average, American G.I. Well, as often happens, the kit, while good when it came out, has gotten a bit old and stale. And that’s why we’re getting a new US G.I. Troopers set. Along with that, there’s all sorts of bundles and sets to get you and your buddies playing right away.
