Fireteam Zero is a new cooperative board game where players are trying to fight against the horrors of not just war, but of living artifacts bent on chaos and destruction. The game mechanics are card-driven, where they’re used to give support to other players, attack enemies, and are also a measure of how much health your character has. When a player takes damage, they have to discard. If they discard everything, they’re out.

The interview goes into more detail about game mechanics and specifics about the campaign.

TGN Interview: David Lowry of Club Fantasci

Game reviews are an important part of TGN. I’m a firm believer in getting all the information you can about a product before you make a purchase. With the price of many board games out there on the market, most of us can ill-afford to drop a load of cash on a game that’ll just sit on the shelf.

A game review blog that’s recently been on the rise is Club Fantasci. At the helm is David Lowry. I had a chat with David, trying to get to know a bit more about the man behind the website.

Players play character cards to various locations that make up the city in order to meet conditions of hidden objectives. Each type of character card is associated with a unique action that manipulates cards in the game; use the Butcher to bully other characters to new locations, use the Student to gain more cards, use the Soldier to keep the peasants from loitering too long. In this game where keen maneuvering is key, attentiveness to the opposition may uncover hidden motives that seek to foil your bid for power. The first player to gain a certain number points depending on the number of players is determined worthy to lead the revolt, and also wins the game.
