New DLC Adventure Available For Mansions of Madness

As board games and technology look to merge together more, I foresee this type of story becoming more regular than they are now. Fantasy Flight Games has released the first DLC expansion for Mansions of Madness Second Edition. There’s no new figures or cards or anything physical to get, but you do have a new scenario to go on when you play.

Doom: The Board Game Now Available From Fantasy Flight Games

Aw Hell…
Literally. The denizens of Hell have managed to break through into our dimension due to some careless scientists on Mars. If the security forces don’t act fast and try and stop more portals from opening up, the whole universe could be flooded with foul and horrific beasts. It’s going to take a lot of toughness… and a lot of ammo, if they’re going to make the world safe again. Pretty much all of us know the story behind Doom. Well, now you can bring that FPS game to your tabletop, as the Doom board game is now available from Fantasy Flight Games.

Friday Snippets

Man, it is busy over here on this side of the screen. Pretty much all week there’s been stuff going on. I’m sure that’s part of why it feels like it’s really flown by… And I’ve still not really gotten a handle on what I’m going to do with my D&D group tomorrow! Gah! There’ll be time for that later (hopefully, theoretically, grammatically, esoterically). But, if we’re to keep up our energy, we should nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Avignon: Pilgrimage Coming To Kickstarter in January, CloseYa network is open for a public beta in US, WW1 Themed Dice to be released in January from I Will Never Grow Up, Aenor Miniatures website Online, Week 3 December Deals Available From Greater Than Games, Merry Bitsmass Weekend Promo from Kromlech, and 3D Preview Posted For Ether Wars.

New Releases For The Others Available Tomorrow

Friday’s almost here. I’m excited, as usual. But it’s a bit extra-exciting since some new releases for The Others will be available. New resources for both the F.A.I.T.H. and the Sins players will bring new resources and challenges to your games. Will humanity be saved? Don’t be too greedy about getting yours or envious of someone else’s purchase.

Zombies are running amok in the streets. Resources are becoming more and more scarce as time goes on. The city has lots of opportunities to find what you might need, but there’s also lots of opportunities to run into other scavengers as well as those aforementioned zombies. Only by joining together will you be able to survive. That’s the story behind Project Z, and Warlord Games is taking pre-orders for a new limited Lock N Load version with special terrain.

Into the Bayou Book for Through The Breach Now Available As PDF

Now when I was just a little boy, standin’ to my Daddy’s knee
My Poppa said, “son don’t let the man get you and do what he done to me.”
Ok, my dad never actually said that. But I can’t read “Into the Bayou” without thinking of some CCR.
Well, whether you go running through the jungle when playing Through the Breach, or just sit on your back porch, you can get your copy of the pdf version of Into the Bayou now.

Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5 Up On Kickstarter

Pretty much every gamer out there knows of Kingdom Death. The original Kickstarter campaign made over $2mil. But then… oh the troubles. It was one of the campaigns that took the longest to actually deliver. However, from all I’ve seen, it was worth the wait… and worth the weight, since the final game’s components made it so heavy that selling it retail wasn’t really an option. Well, the game is back up on Kickstarter with a new, revised version, and a new record-breaking Kickstarter.

Grin: A Darker Age Horror RPG Modules Up On Kickstarter

Grin: A Darker Age, is a free horror RPG game where all the rules for it fit on a single sheet of paper. Being a horror RPG, the chances for your character to make it out alive are somewhat slim. Monsters and madmen stalk the dark places and are just waiting to pounce out and get you. But wait, if it’s free, what’s the Kickstarter for? Well, they’re looking to fund a book of scenarios for you to play. The book looks to be over 100 pages, so that one they’ll be charging for.

Savage Worlds Edition of Contagion Now Available

Sometimes you see a game world that you think is really cool, but you’re not sure you can get your group to try it out because it’s not a system they like using. Sure, you could do your best to convert everything over to an equivalent in your group’s desired system, but that can be rather tedious. Well, the folks over at Aegis Studios have helped out for those groups that like the Savage Worlds system by converting their Contagion game to use it.

Mantic Games Selling Limited Numbers of Kickstarter Edition of The Walking Dead: All Out War

Sometimes you just don’t have the ability to get in on a Kickstarter campaign while it’s running. You might miss the announcement or just not have the funds at the time or whatever other million reasons are out there. During the backerkit portion, you might still miss out. That’s always a bummer. Well, more rarely, you get a company with a couple extra of the Kickstarter edition of their game that they’re selling on their website. That’s what we’ve got here, as Mantic has an extremely limited number of The Walking Dead: All Out War Kickstarter Edition available to order in their webshop.

Wyrd Games Posts Black Friday Deals

While I think that October is my favorite month, November holds my favorite holiday: Thanksgiving. Though, anymore, you can’t talk about Thanksgiving without talking about the day after Thanksgiving. Yes, Black Friday, when the Christmas Shopping season officially begins. Well, the folks at Wyrd want to make sure you’re prepared for that special day and have posted up what new figures they’ll have available along with special deals they’ll be running.

The Damned Children Card Game Up On Kickstarter

Something is not right at the boarding school. The children are acting a little… weird. Something has taken them over, something nobody can fully explain. While the Priest says he has ways to help, most just want to deal with any children thought to be possessed with slightly… quicker means (meaning they get the axe). Will the sane be able to find all the possessed in time? Or will insanity reign at the school? That’s the story behind The Damned Children, a party card game up on Kickstarter based on the classic game, Werewolf.

Dead Run Zombie Survival Board Game Up On Kickstarter

Well, the zombie apocalypse has happened again. You and your fellow survivors must go and collect resources you need to survive while avoiding the walking dead. Collect what you need and get out and you win. Get eaten and… well… don’t get eaten.

Midweek Snippets

Not sure why, but this week’s been a time enigma. I woke up this morning going, “wow, already Wednesday!” But since I’ve been here at the office, it’s been the exact opposite. “How is it only 10am? I feel like I’ve been here forever!” What might help is noshing on some bite-sized gaming stories.

The Others Horror Board Game Now Available

Most of us know about the 7 Deadly Sins. You know. Stuff like Greed, Gluttony, Sloth, and such like that. Well, what if they weren’t just philosophical concepts but were actual, living, breathing things? And what if they were looking to take over the world? That… would be pretty bad. And that’s just what’s happening in The Others, the horror board game from CMON, which is now available (and just in time for Halloween, too).

Dimension Games Launches Deep Madness Kickstarter

At the bottom of the ocean, a mysterious sphere has been found. Nobody knows where it’s come from or its purpose here on Earth. One thing is known, though. It takes the human mind and twists it, warps it, and changes it. Now, an entire deep-sea mining facility has been corrupted. Will you survive the madness? That’s the story behind Deep Madness, the new cooperative horror board game from Diemension Games that’s up on Kickstarter now.

Midweek Snippets

The week continues to chug along. Hopefully yours has gone relatively easily. Mine’s certainly been busy. It might not look like it, but it’s been fairly hectic on this side of my screen. Writing posts, e-mailing people about all sorts of things, proofing projects for upcoming games. Just seems to always be another inbox full of stuff to take care of. That does mean the week’s gone by rather quickly, though, which is always nice. Anyway, if I want to keep my energy up, I should snack on some bite-sized gaming stories.

On the platter today, we have: KaYo Miniatures Running The Imitator Horror Mini Kickstarter, New Surakari Draco and Delphinus Miniature Kit Now Available, Deep Madness Board Game Coming To Kickstarter, Final Day For Loaded Dice On Kickstarter And Growler D100 Added, Official Infinity Dice Now Available, 10mm Fantasy Ogre Miniatures from Black Gate Miniatures Up On Kickstarter, New Elf Warriors Available From BlackChapel Miniatures, Diehard Miniatures: Eru-Kin Expansion, and Engraved Dice Towers by CrowScratches Up On Kickstarter.

Child of Flame One-Shot Adventure Now Available For Through The Breach RPG

A parent can think of little worse than the loss of a child. One such rather wealthy couple has had their daughter stolen away from them. They’ve put out a call to anyone who might be able to track down and find out what happened, and hopefully bring the daughter back safe and sound. Unfortunately, this is the world of Malifaux and nothing is ever that easy.

Latest Black Plague Releases Available From CMON

I totally failed to realize that yesterday was the first day of autumn. So it’s officially ok to start talking about all things spooky and scary. Pumpkin-flavored everything! The latest releases for Black Plague fit the first thing fairly well. Though I wouldn’t suggest trying to find out if they’re pumpkin flavored. They’re also available now.

Lights Out RPG Up On Kickstarter

When you were a kid, how much did you wish all the parents would just suddenly disappear and you could just do whatever you wanted? I’m guessing a lot of you felt that way, but the actual prospect of such a thing happening would really be quite terrifying. You wake up and suddenly find out everyone’s gone but the kids. Worse yet, now all the power’s gone off. Oh, and you’ve got some superpowers now. And there’s monsters coming after you. Man, being a kid’s rough. That’s also the story behind Lights Out, a new RPG that’s up on Kickstarter.

Sun Spots Adventure For Call of Cthulhu Up On Kickstarter

Everybody go crazy! There’s a new adventure for Call of Cthulhu up on Kickstarter! Ok, maybe don’t go crazy, literally. That would inhibit your playing ability. Though, being Call of Cthulhu, it’s highly likely that your character will go crazy. That’s just sort of par for the course.

Wyrd September Newsletter Posted

We’re about hip-deep into September. Lots of companies are coming out with their newsletters and new releases for the month. Wyrd certainly is on that list. Their latest newsletter is out, letting you see what the releases for the next couple months are going to be, as well as letting you know about other things they’ve got going on.

Malifaux Divergent Paths Event Launches Today

Gaming is a great way to bring people together. Have some friends over. Grab a game. Get playing. Or head to the LGS and get some games in with your buddies. But what about a global sort of thing? It doesn’t take video games to get you to feel that link with gamers all over the globe. Events such as Wyrd’s Divergent Paths event for Malifaux, which is launching today, can bring that to you as well.

New Wyrd Chronicles Magazine and Penny Dreadful One-Shot Available From Wyrd

Wyrd’s doing a bit of batch-bundling with their stories, which is alright with me. They’ve got a new issue of their Wyrd Chronicles magazine that you can read over, hopefully escaping from this nasty heat that’s still outside (at least, nasty heat here in Atlanta). They’ve also got a new Penny Dreadful one-shot adventure for the Through The Breach RPG.

Pledge Manager Now Open For The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary

There’s all sorts of reasons why you might miss out on a Kickstarter. Perhaps you just didn’t have the funds at the time, or you were out of town when the campaign was going and missed the announcement for it, or you’ve since decided you wished you’d been on it. Well, thankfully, many companies will open up to new customers during the Pledge Manager section of the campaign. Cryptozoic has done just that with The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary.

Skirmish Outbreak Survivors Up On Kickstarter

With the zombie apocalypse, there’s bound to be those that haven’t yet been eaten or infected. There wouldn’t be much of a story otherwise. You’d just have zombies milling around going, “braaaaaaains.” Not exactly engaging for a story, film, or game. So, it’s with that in mind that The Phalanx Consortium and Radio Dishdash are running a Kickstarter campaign for some Skirmish Outbreak survivor minis.

Midweek Snippets

The week keeps on keepin’ on. We’ve gotten past the first half, with the second coming right at us. If we’re going to be making it to the weekend (where I plan on doing as little as possible), we’d better stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today we have: Advanced Deployment Ravyn’s Birthday Sale, Hell Rangers Coming to Kickstarter Soon, New Releases Available From Dark Sword Miniatures, Miniature Wargaming: The Movie Up On Kickstarter, New Classical Mage Mini From Brother Vinni, Final Days for Revenants Vs Ancestrals on Indiegogo, New Bottles and Cans from Tabletop-Art, Vampire Hunters launches on Kickstarter in less than a week, and New Dwarf Wild Chieftain Available From Scibor.

Cryptozoic Launches The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary Kickstarter

Well, it’s happened again. The world’s come to an end. Damnit, Carl, I told you to not eat that tainted meat! Now there’s zombies all over everywhere! Though I’m sure, to the vast majority of you, The Walking Dead TV series on AMC certainly needs no introduction. You know all about the exploits of the small group of survivors, trying to stay one step ahead of the zombies while stress and tension look to rip the group apart (sometimes seemingly much more likely than the zombies ripping the group apart). Well, Cryptozoic has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new board game, The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary, which brings that setting to your tabletop.

Thursday Terrain Corner

We’ve made it to Thursday, everyone.
Is it just me or has the week sort of slowed to a halt? I think it’s because next week’s going to be a short one. As such, we have to make this week longer to compensate. Otherwise, space-time and all that gets messed up. Thankfully, Powerhouse is seeing me through the day. Also, I’m looking forward to playing some games tomorrow night. So that’s something to look forward to. In the meantime, let’s make sure your gaming tables look as good as possible.

Today in our Terrain Corner we have: Warlord Games Taking Pre-orders For Project Z Terrain, Deep-Cut Studio releases nature tiles on mousepad material, New 28mm Shopping Mall from Sally 4th Coming Soon, New Armorcast Ruined Highway Overpass Coulmns, and Urban Sector: Pwork Wargames science fiction gaming mat Now Available.
