Leaping Horseman Books have announced the release of their latest WWII Eastern Front title, Turning Point.
From their announcement:
Rarely do Westerners gain an understanding of the Russian perspective of the battle. While a flurry of translated memoirs by senior commanders like Zhukov and Chuikov in the 1960s and 1970s provided a higher level point-of-view, very little has been reported in English about how the fighting affected ordinary Russian soldiers and civilians. Retired Colonel Anatoli Venediktovich Kozlov, a participant in the battle and section chairman of Volgograd city’s veterans’ council, realised it was imperative to record the accounts of the few remaining veterans before time inevitably claimed them all. Glasnost has enabled these veterans to provide a more candid account of their experiences than if they had been interviewed during the Communist era. Kozlov’s wish was for this book to be available to Westerners… and now it is.

Company B have announced the release of their 1:56 scale Model T Ambulance as well as posting photos of a true 1:56 scale U-boat in their Greens gallery.
Update: More info on the U-boat from the Lead Adventure forum
It’s 1/56 scale..and the figures on the hull are 28mm German Mountain Troops from Brigade Games. The u-boat is meant to be more of a terrain piece than a scale model…in that it’s a little simplified, can come apart in 4 pieces, and should probably be used as the game table. The U-boat is about 36 inches long and will will be exclusive from Brigade Games. A nice assortment of flak and deck guns have been made for it as well.

Mongoose Publishing have posted some miniature rules related news in a recent blog post.
From their website:
So, what is happening with our miniatures games? Well, Age of Dreadnoughts for Victory at Sea is in, and I hear tell work has already started on a Russo/Japanese war supplement for it. For Battlefield Evolution, Pacific War is already undergoing editing and playtesting, and we are preparing several articles for S&P that introduce not just new units, but entire new army lists. Modern Combat has been completed, and is just awaiting its final round of playtesting before it goes to editing.
I also picked up some new ‘units’ from our office ‘out day’ today, and they are just crying out for an article in S&P. look out for both this article, and a peek at what we got up to today in S&P soon!
With Modern Combat (almost) put to bed, I am taking a (very) short break from writing, before diving into Powers & Principalities, the Call to Arms release for this year.
