From the release:

The supplement for Victory at Sea: Age of Dreadnoughts, is now appearing in stores.

Written by David Manley, Far Flung Seas is a supplement for Victory at Sea: Age of Dreadnoughts WWI naval miniatures rules. Comprising additional fleet lists, Far Flung Seas rounds out the major protagonists of the Great War. In the Mediterranean, new lists cover the Italian, Austrian and French fleets. Further afield, the US Navy list in Age of Dreadnoughts is greatly expanded to cover the rest of the Fleet, in addition to those vessels that fought with the Royal Navy in the North Sea. From the vast reaches of the Pacific, the Japanese Navy joins the fray, taking part in the pursuit of von Spee’s squadron, raiding German territories around Tsingtao and Rabaul, and (for those of a hypothetical persuasion) challenging the US Navy for dominion in the Pacific in the aftermath of the Great War. Finally, a few old friends have their fleet lists expanded slightly, with a few ships that did not make it into Age of Dreadnoughts.

Forgotten & Glorious update

Forgotten & Glorious have posted an update on the status of new releases.

New sketches

From their announcement:

It has been some times since nothing appears on our blog: there were two reasons for that.

The first one is that we were very busy shipping figures to all the kind persons who ordered some figures from us and I want to thank them again.

The second one is that we were taking some time to think about all the things we wanted to do: at the beginning of FG adventure, we were scheduling to produce figures covering a lot of different subject. But lately, seeing our figures, a lot of customers start to ask for 1916 German and British troops but also, and that was a kind of surprise for us, some French, German and British troops for 1914 too.

Pendraken Miniatures have posted details of their May 2011 10mm historical miniature releases.

From their announcement:

It’s the start of another month, and here’s another 46 releases for your 10mm gaming pleasure.

We’ve had so much interest in these two lines, and we’re sure they’ve been worth the wait.

As if two new ranges wasn’t enough, we’ve also added a couple of items to the WWII range, in the form of the Sdkfz 231 6 rad, and also a 76mm AA gun for the Russians. And on the BKC front, we’ve added new 2000pt armies for 1940’s BEF and Germans, and also a Pacific pair of US Marines and Japanese.

For all the 10mm Dungeon fans, we’ve finally got the first 5 Theme Packs ready. There will be more of these coming in the future, so keep an eye out for those.

In the Scenics ranges, we’ve added a nice little assortment of palm trees to our tree range. At £2.70 for 10, these are fantastic value for money, and would be perfect for anyone currently considering getting into some Pacific gaming.

NG International, the game’s publisher, is working on several new products that will be released this year.

For the World War I period, two new series of miniatures will be released. Wings of War WWI Miniatures: Giants of the Sky will introduce the bombers Caproni CA.3 and Gotha G.V, each in two different painting schemes, and will be released in june 2011. Afterwards, NG International will release the 5th miniatures series, featuring four new airplanes, Fokker E.III, Halberstadt D.III, Morane-Saulnier and Airco D.H.2, each one in three different painting schemes.

The new releases for WW2 include the boxed set Rain of Destruction, which will introduce into the game multi-engine bombers and heavy fighters such as the B-25 Mitchell, He.111 and Me.110, with all related rules. Élan PDF released

I suspect he won't be happy for longWessex Games have added a PDF version of their Élan rules to Wargame Vault.

From their announcement:
Élan has ben released in PDF format and is available from Wargame Vault.

Originally published by Gauntlet Publications in the early ’90’s and OOP for a long while we are really pleased to bring these excellent Great War wargames rules back to the wargaming public.

Élan is a set of Brigade to Divisional level scenario driven rules for the European theatre during The Great War. Designed as a two-player game using 6mm figures, with little adjustment it can be played solo, or in any scale from 2mm to 20mm.

The basic mechanism used in this game – élan, distils a number of factors – morale, training, leadership, fatigue, “friction” – into a single numerical value. Whenever a unit tries to perform an action, its score is rolled against. Failure not only results in the attempted action failing but a fall in the élan score, as the unit begins to succumb to the stresses of the battlefield. Under this system, even the most motivated troops will eventually be worn down and break.

In the game, much of the minutiae of combat has been ignored. As Divisional or Brigade commanders, the players only see the results of actions, not the process on the ground by which those results are determined. A commander will know only that a unit has not advanced, not which one of the multitude of reasons why it hasn’t. This absence of precise control at the company level, is mirrored further up the command structure by using a non-sequential turn sequence to simulate communications failures (and initiative) within the command system.

Élan contains army lists for 22 nations involved in the Great war and instructions on how to convert any MicroMark army list for play in the game.

Grand Admiral: Castles of Steel now available

Majestic Twelve Games have released the Grand Admiral: Castles of Steel game.

From their announcement:

Grand Admiral: Castles of SteelMajestic Twelve Games is proud to announce the second product in our Grand Admiral line of naval combat wargames: Castles of Steel.

During the pivotal years of 1915 and 1916, the future of the world hung in the balance as the Royal Navy time and again failed to deliver on promises of tactical success amid the cold, grey waters of the North Sea. But the strategic situation was much different, as each passing month of the Allied blockade brought the Central Powers closer to defeat.

Did the Kaiser’s reluctance to commit his beloved High Seas Fleet doom the German people? Was Admiral Beatty the second coming of Nelson himself, or a charismatic, risk-taking glory hound? Might a different British commander at Jutland have brought the decisive victory for which they were so desperate; or, as Churchill feared, might he have lost the War in a single afternoon?

New Great War figures from Brigade

Brigade Models have released several new packs of 28mm WWI miniatures in their Great War range.

Carabiner LMG team

From their website:

We have some brand-new releases in our 28mm Great War range. One company in four of Carabiniers were cyclists, and were often used in support of the Belgian armoured cars. We have two packs of dismounted cyclists ready to repel the Hun! The first pack is of three advancing riflemen, the second is an advancing Lewis gun team. The Lewis was due to be adopted by the Belgian army but not officially in service in 1914. For those who like ‘what if’ scenarios, the figures could represent a couple of cyclists who have managed to acquire a gun and ammunition from an armoured car.
