Alban Miniatures have released figures in support of the Sharp Practice Napoleonic skirmish rules.
From their announcement:
Alban Miniatures is a new company set up to bring you the best in sculpting expertise. The figures are 1/56th 28mm scale and are properly proportionate,
We are very proud to introduce our fist range entitled “Sharp Practice”. These have been produced to compliment the awesome new wargames rules of the same name by “The TooFatLardies”. Variation is the key; there are 12 separate 1809 British Riflemen in the first release. These figures are ideal for large scale skirmishes and complement these ground breaking rules perfectly.
We are concentrating on the Peninsular War, so you can expect to see French Voltigeurs next; followed by British Line, French Dragoons both mounted and skirmishing on foot. For the future there will be British Light Dragoons in Tarletons and of course French Line Infantry. We will to bring you the finest and best researched Peninsular range yet produced.
The first 3 releases for June are as follows: All packs £4.50.

Front Rank Figurines have added new 28mm Middle Guard Fusilier Grenadiers in full dress. The miniatures are available for £1.00 each.
Eureka Miniatures have released a 28mm vignette of Napoleon in a charge across the Bridge at Arcola.
From their website:
To get everyone in the mood Alan Marsh has sculpted a wonderful vignette of Napoleon trying to inspire his men by example and leading them in a charge across the Bridge at Arcola – a famous incident that took place during the desperate sequence of battles fought around Mantua in 1796. The set comes complete with bridge, a flag welding Napoleon, and four grenadiers – one of whom has already succumbed to the fire of the Austrian Grenzers defending the opposite bank. The figures are cast in white metal, and the bridge is made of plastic resin and designed for us by H G Walls (many thanks Herb!) It is a ‘wargames model’, and as such is a deliberately under-scaled representation of the bridge, although the original bridge was not large, the Alpone River being just a few metres across, flowing between two high causeway embankments.
Baccus have posted preview photos of some new 6mm Goth miniatures as well as Napoleonic Wurttemburger Jaegers.
From their website:
Out today in the Ancients range comes the Goths. These are very useful troop types for armies across the period, allowing you to model not only the Goths, but more ‘generic’ troop types across western Europe. I also know that quite a few are already lined up for service in various fantasy armies as well.
They are also available as an army pack Suitable For ‘Massed Ancient Games Such As Warmaster Ancients’ and through our very popular ‘Buy by the Unit’ option for those of you using DBX, FOG or Impetus.
And while we’re in the mood for new things, the Napoleonic Wurttemburgers get their Jaegers who missed the initial release, and we’ve added some Bell Tents to the Equipment range which will be useful in lots of 19th camps.
Wargames Foundry have posted new Imperial Guard Chasseur Collections and Army Deals as well as announcing a price increase.
From their announcement:
I’m sorry to say that we are going to have to put our prices up; we held off having to do a price rise shortly after Christmas in the hope that raw material and carriage prices would come down as quickly as they had risen. Sadly, this has not been the case. Whilst our material prices have increased beyond all expectations, our metal price in particular has risen to an unprecedented high over the last 15 months, and we are no longer able to continue to absorb the costs. Consequently, as from July 1st 2008 we will apply a price increase to the majority of our products.
TooFatLardies are reporting that copies of their recently released Sharp Practice Napoleonic skirmish rules are back in stock
From their announcement:
TooFatLardies are pleased to announce that Sharp Practice is back in stock. Sales of our latest rule set, designed for large scale skirmishes in the black-powder era, were so good that we ran out of stock within days of the release. Now we have them back in stock and can supply both hard copies and PDF versions.
Thanks to everyone who bought the rules, the reviews we have been sent have been absolutely fantastic. Watch out for loads of Sharp Practice material in the forthcoming Summer Special.
Eureka Miniatures USA have announced the release of new 15/18mm Waterloo British Household cavalry.
From their website:
Designed in 18mm by sculptor Alan Marsh to be compatible in size with Tony Barton’s AB Figures Napoleonic miniatures, our new 1812-15 British Household Cavalry now join the rest of the Eureka 18mm Napoleonic ranges.
Being tied to their role as the Royal escort, and considering Britain’s somewhat limited deployment of land forces in continental Europe prior to 1808, the Life Guards and the Blues and Royals heavy cavalry regiments saw comparatively little opportunity for action during the French Revolutionary Wars and the Early Napoleonic campaigns. Aside from some spirited charges made by the Blues during the ill fated Flanders campaign of 1794 it was not until 1812 that squadrons of both Lifeguards and Blues and Royals were despatched to join Wellington’s army in Spain. Later, in 1815, they would both form an important part of Wellington’s heavy cavalry at the Battle of Waterloo.
Eureka Miniatures have announced a series of new 15/18mm AB Figures Napoleonic releases.
From their website:
There is always room for a little improvement, even to Tony Barton’s definitive range of Napoleonic miniatures, and Tony continues to fill in odd gaps and expand existing parts of the AB Figures collection. French generals who are bored with seeing their Imperial Guard battalions stiffly at attention, hanging around in reserve and just observing the action from the rear, can now throw caution to the wind and send out their Old Guard in full skirmish order.
Other new figures include a French Cuirassier Eagle Bearer (a notable omission from the range until now). The 1812 Prussian Musketeer in marching pose, and 1812 Prussian Jäger skirmishing, have both been re-mastered and new variants added, and a new variant has been added to the Prussian infantry officer with sword code. The 1812 Prussian Uhlan trooper, officer, and trumpeter figures have all been re-mastered, with some variants completely redesigned.
Nexus Games have announced the first title in their Battles of Napoleon game series.
From their announcement:
The first set, The Eagle and The Lion, will introduce the French and the British troops, with hundreds of miniatures and an innovative game system
Nexus is working on a new game series, dedicated to the Napoleonic age. The first title, due to be released in Summer 2008, is Battles of Napoleon: The Eagle and The Lion, a massive board game with hundreds of detailed plastic 1/72 scale figures (Infantry, Light and Heavy Cavalry, Artillery and Commanders), modular terrain boards, cards and dice. All these components will match with an innovative game system, efficient and easy-to-learn mechanics and historical accuracy. The Eagle and the Lion includes French and British troops. Future sets in the series will introduce new armies, units, scenarios and additional game boards.
Created by Sergio Guerri and Ugo Di Meglio, Battles of Napoleon is a game system that merges principles and mechanics from board and miniature games and allows constant player’s interaction. The original and realistic command system makes it possible to simulate that not always the subordinates do exactly what their commanders want from them. An innovative basing system makes it possible to simulate quickly the basic combat formations, easily replacing the losses and allowing fast movement over the game board – the game will include special bases where the miniatures will be inserted to create units and formations and removed to keep track of the losses.
Wargames Foundry have added some new miniatures and accessories and also have made note of a short supply of one of their book titles.
