Is this week going by slowly for anybody else? I dunno, but it feels to me like it should’ve been Friday by now. Well, we’ll get there eventually. But seeing as it’s Thursday (as I’m in my Thursday shirt and all), let’s get to giving you some ways to make your tabletops look all the more spectacular.
Today’s terrain corner features: New Houses Available From Escenografia Epsilon, Pwork Wargames science-fiction gaming mat: Industrial Ruins, and New River and Bridge Terrain from Puppets War.
We’re heading down that slope into the weekend, picking up speed as we go. Thursday is here and that means it’s time to make sure your gaming table looks as good as possible with our Terrain Corner feature.
Today’s stories include: Winterdale: Medieval Fantasy Citadel Collection for 28mm on Kickstarter and Deep-Cut Studio releases new Dropzone gaming mat.
The time for pre-orders has come and gone. You can now order the 2nd edition of Sword & Spear for yourself from Great Escape Games. The rules let you play large battles set in the Ancient and Medieval periods. There aren’t any minis specifically for the game, so you can use whatever figures you find most appealing. As long as they have equal basing, you’re good to go.
Or is it Friday Snippets, because I have the day off tomorrow? (and hopefully you do, too) Either way, it’s some bite-sized stories before we have lots more bites tomorrow for Thanksgiving.
And yes, I really am as jazzed about the holiday as it seems.
Anyway, today’s bites include: Lead Adventure Miniatures Release Bruegelburg Knights, Bombshell November Releases Posted, YooAmeGames preview their new card game Madness Skull, New website/store for Imaginative Miniatures, New Statuesque Pulp Alley Pre-Orders, Aegis Studios Releases Character Compendium 1 Under the Hero Kids Compatibility License, Notification of Results for the 2015 Windhammer Prize, Dark Art Studios Launches Forums, Announcing the First Wave of Scenarios for Post Captain, New Windfall Bases Available From Kromlech, Echoes Revealed for Shattered Earth’s Humanist Rebellion, Watchful I Studio proudly announces that it will be opening its webstore, Games Workshop Black Friday Deals Coming Soon, and New Hammer’s Slammer Detachment Packs From Brigade Models.
For those of you historical gamers out there, Great Escape Games is now taking pre-orders for their 2nd edition rules set for Sword & Spear. For those that don’t know, Sword & Spear is a rules set that lets you play out battles from the Ancient to Medieval time periods. There’s no set of figures for it. You can use whatever you want, as long as the unit’s facing is equivalent.
Is the week racing along for everyone else or is it just me? Hard to believe that it’s already Wednesday. Seems that we just started this week a couple days ago… Ok, so we did just start this week a couple days ago, but you know what I mean. What it does mean, though, is that we’ve got a midweek Snippets post for you.
In this batch of bite-sized stories we have: Kensei Coming Soon To Kickstarter, Awaken Tabletop RPG Passes Funding Goal on Kickstarter, Final days for Wolf & Hound on Kickstarter, Final Hours for Ninja Crusade 2nd Edition On Kickstarter, Final Hours for Spellbook Gaming Boxes on Kickstarter, Skirmisher Publishing Releases 100 Oddities for a Graveyard, Licensed Coins from The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit on Kickstarter, Fireforge Russian Infantry sculpting completed, Squadron Strike Ship Book 2 Back in “Print” as a PDF, The Ion Age: Rewards Programme upgraded and expanded, and Kromlech New Release – Legionary Chain Axes.
If you’re gonna have your troops do what you need them to do, then you need to have good commanders in charge of them. So it is with that in mind that Warlord Games has released some new Janissary Command models. Though even with good command, it’s a battle, so people are bound to get hurt. So Warlord also made a set of Casualties.
This week is certainly getting off to a rocket of a start. Obviously, you can’t see any of the goings-on over on the opposite side of the screen, but needless to say, it’s been a rather busy morning. Thankfully, all of it is “busy in a good way.”
Anyway, as I have a moment from the rush of other things, lets get you some news stories about terrain to make your gaming tables look as awesome as possible.
In this grouping we have: New releases for By Fire and Sword and New Italian/Spanish Terrain from Najewitz Modellbau.
Hey everyone. Hope your weekend is going along well. Mine included some time at the mechanic, some time with friends (new and old), and some time watching Good Eats, because every day should include some time watching Good Eats (if it’s going to be a good day, anyway.
Quick Sunday Snippets for you today. Two bite-sized stories to nibble on for your Sunday afternoon.
We have: Brigade Models – 15mm Kirin Combat Walker and Arab Armoured Archers Pre-Order From Fireforge Games.
The week is progressing along. The turbulence of Monday starting to calm slightly on Tuesday and hopefully continuing into today. Let’s not jinx it by being overconfident, though. There’s plenty of week left to go.
In the meantime, Wednesday means posting a collection of bite-sized stories.
In today’s batch of snippets we have: New Warthrone approved army list: Orcs & Goblins from Warhammer, Onus! Rome vs. Carthage English Edition Coming to Kickstarter, Foxy and her gang are re-released at Statuesque Miniatures, Secrets of the Lost Tomb: The Elite Missions over 900% Funded, New 15mm Normans from Baueda added to Indiegogo, Two New Releases From Hitech Miniatures, Taranis Tracked Tanks by Bob Naismith offers now live from The Ion Age, New Infinity Limited Edition Unit Markers from Warsenal, and 11 Days Left in Cabals Kickstarter.
We’re rocketing our way through this week. I thought weeks before a holiday were supposed to drag on. But that has definitely not been the case. Labor Day Weekend is coming up and that, for those that live in Atlanta, means Dragon Con. I guess it means that for anyone, but especially for those of us here in Atlanta. 400-southbound is generally busy as I’m driving north on my way to the office. Today it was a parking lot, even at 6:15am. I’m sure it’ll be that way tomorrow, too, as everyone heads downtown for the party. From what I hear, though, there’s already plenty of partying going on, even last night.
But that’s not what we’re here for. We’re here to make your gaming table look awesome. We’re here for our Terrain Corner piece.
Today’s entries include: Impudent Mortal Entry Level 28mm and 15mm Terrain System on Kickstarter, Idyllwild Games Dark Age Outpost Up On Kickstarter, and Miniature Building Authority’s KickStarter begins on September 7th.
Get on your bikes and ride!
Err… I mean, get on your horses and ride!
By Fire and Sword has some new cavalry model sets available over in their webshop.
Arthur could never get a handle on them.
The Cure didn’t care about them.
It’s after Wednesday, so we’re in the latter half of the week. But it’s not the joy and relief of a Friday.
Oh well, we do get a Terrain Corner feature to hold us over, though.
Today’s installment we have: Chibi War 3D tiles on Kickstarter, Tabletop-Art Has New Components for 28mm Terrain Available, Paper Make It! Launches Shuffler 2.12.01, and Brigade Models Release 2mm Scale Medieval Buildings.
Friday has once again blessed us with its presence. Let us bask in its warm glow of warming glowing… or something.
Suffice to say that the weekend is almost here. What sort of plans do you have coming up? Gaming? Cooking? Or just boring, old “yard work” and the like?
For the moment, we’ve got our batch of bite-sized stories.

It might be getting near the end of summer, but “getting near the end of” still means it’s summer. That means there’s still time for summer sales. West Wind Productions has theirs going. So go pick up some minis for the upcoming winter for cheaper than you’d usually have to spend.
The fellows over at By Fire and Sword recently held their Historical Skirmish Force competition. Well, the votes have been cast and counted and the winners have been found. Juha Heinänen and Samu Somppi are them, with their Swedish and Muscovite forces.
There were some amazing-looking gaming tables at Gen Con. You, too, can have some great-looking gaming tables. And that’s what this segment is all about. So let’s just get right to it.
In this batch of terrain articles, we have: Building tiles for 6-28mm wargame projects on Indiegogo, Brigade Models – 15mm Accessory Release, New Doors and Windows Available from Tabletop-Art, Wargame-Model-Mods – Integrated wargame buildings Kickstarter, Heroic Maps – Explorer: Wild Places 2, LaserCutCard new container set plus bundle deal, and New Items Available from Thomarillion.
As I’ve mentioned previously, I love to see when a Kickstarter campaign not only funds, and not only ships, but also becomes available for general purchase. For me, it’s that final step that really shows that a Kickstarter was successful. Sure, a campaign can fund, and then it can ship, but if it’s able to create a permanent product for the company that produced it, that’s really where the “success” of the campaign becomes total. By Fire and Sword has some new releases available, and those figures had been part of their previous Kickstarter campaign.
Blood stains the ground as warriors clash in the fighting pits, each armed with the skills, weapons, and bravery needed to survive. However, no matter how prepared the warriors are, only one will make it out. Combat is fast, furious, and brutal. So it’s fitting that the game I’m talking about is Brutal from Italian artist (and game designer) Gipi. Currently funding on Ulule (the first European crowdfunding site), Brutal has been snatched up by CoolMiniOrNot for distribution stateside and already has a tie in with the upcoming Zombicide: Black Plague. For more about the game and the trailer, check after the break. Continue reading
Give yourself a pat on the back. You’ve made it to another Wednesday. We’re halfway to the weekend. If you have any mid-week gaming plans, we’d love to hear about it down in the comments. Over the next couple days, I’ll be prepping for the D&D game I’m running on Saturday. Last session, the group narrowly avoided TPK twice. So obviously, I need to up my game some.
As usual for the day, we’ve got some bite-sized stories we’ve collected together for you.
In this batch we’ve got: MidKnight Heroes Reaches Funding Goal and Previews Chibi Stretch Goal, Some more Installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Quick Reference Rulebook of Military History: Medieval Wargame available for testing, Blacksmith Miniatures release Mahé the Sailor, New Skull Masks Available from Tabletop-Art, Final week for Dark Sword Miniatures New Range Tony DiTerlizzi Masterworks Kickstarter, Ophidian Wars releases ECG with optional 3D printed minis, NeoExodus Campaign Setting Update for Pathfinder On Kickstarter, Mekawing Z updated to version 1.7, New Shock Tokens from Sally 4th, Epic New Token Line For Table Top And Role Playing Games, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm May Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, Hitech Miniatures New Webstore Opened, 28mm Crates Barrels and Casks from Castle Kits, New 15mm Sci-Fi Buildings from Gamecraft Miniatures, Infantry Bases for 6mm (1/285th) Figures from GameCraft Miniatures, New Rocket Platform Terrain from DerekPages, Manorhouse Workshop Update #32 – Modular Underground Project – How to paint walls and floors quickly, Demigods Evolution Funds in 1 Day, and Victrix Previews French Artillery.
Apparently, a lot of you are happy with playing in The Devil’s Playground… by that, I mean the Thirty Years War supplement for Pike & Shotte from Warlord Games. What’d you think I could’ve possibly meant? Anyway, to help bulk up your armies and to provide some strong leadership, Warlord Games has come out with a new Command Group, as well as a Veteran Storming Party of Musketeers and a group of Veteran Musketeers. These are clothed and equipped so they can be used either in the Thirty Years War or the English Civil War.
The Pike & Shotte historical window is rather wide and includes conflicts from just about every European country, as well as many other countries around the world. Many of these battles were over different viewpoints on religion, as turmoil over the various religious movements dragged thousands of people to arms. Warlord Games has several new releases to let you replay those battles on your tabletop, with their new Wars of Religion releases.
Warlord Games is now taking orders for their first 30-years War supplement book for Pike & Shotte, entitled The Devil’s Playground. And as usual for a Warlord Games supplement, if you order from them directly, you can get an exclusive miniature. This time it’s Count von Hosenschlange. Quite a rather dashing fellow, and a mini that’d be good in multiple game systems.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but for me, the week is just flying by! Can you believe it’s already Wednesday? I hardly can. Hopefully the week is going well for the rest of you. I know a lot of readers are either on their way to, or about to make their way to Chicago for Adepticon this weekend. We’ll have the intrepid Jared Miller there to cover the show, including the $10k Crystal Brush event, as well as just all the cool armies that are always on display.

It’s Wednesday already? This week’s going by like last week did. It’ll be Saturday before you know it (and time to play some D&D for me, anyway).
So here’s another group of shorter stories we found over the past few days we wanted to pass along.
After the break, we’ve got announcements about several Kickstarters launching next week (Titan-Forge, Wizard Dodgeball, Ghost Train Games, and Schrodinger’s Cats), some new renders from the ATER Kickstarter, Gioconomicon’s Giocomics now available in English, a new WIP from Escenografia Epsilon, a new release from Brother Vinni, a New Military History: Medieval Wargame How To Play posted, some new WIPs from Abyss, Archimina launched their Kickstarter campaign, and finally, some new concept art from John Kovalic for a secret project he’s working on.
MineField Games has started to post previews of their upcoming Military History: Medieval Wargame game via “how to play” articles on their blog. For fans of historical wargaming, this is a set to check out. Set for both 20mm and 28mm, the game will be released later this year.

Warlord Games has purchased Pro Gloria Miniatures. This will bring PGM’s Landsknechts miniatures into the Pike & Shotte world from WG, officially. Pro Gloria’s (former) owner, Stephan Huber’s reason for selling was that he wanted to see the line grow, but just wasn’t able to balance both his miniatures and his regular day job like he’d wanted. So he approached Warlord, who was more than happy to team up.

Dadi & Piombo has released Lords & Servants, their new medieval skirmish rules set.
From the release:

Tabletop Workshop now has their Modular Castle Terrain Kits available over in their webshop.
Have fun stormin’ the castle!
From the announcement:
Our 28mm Hard Plastic Modular Castle kits are now complete and in stock. Here is a look at the final products!
In the pictures below, you’ll be able to see one of our unpainted designs made out of Tabletop Workshop kits. We created a huge Square Castle Keep, surrounded it with a Massive Octagonal Outer Wall and added a few of our 28mm Buildings to complete.
