Crosslances Studios Running NurGoblin Fantasy Football Team Kickstarter

Goblins are pretty prolific. They seem to end up all over everywhere. As such, they can end up being mutated by magic, or environmental factors, or just genetics gone awry. The NurGoblins certainly aren’t your garden-variety greenskin. They’ve been twisted and made evil (well, evil-er), and now they’re ready to hit the fantasy football pitch to show who is the best. The team is up on Kickstarter now.

Steamforged Games Previews Furnace for The Blacksmith’s Guild

The Blacksmith’s Guild is looking to reshape the world of Guild Ball like a smith reshapes metal. Their Master/Apprentice dynamic gives you a team with no mascot and no official captain (you pick who is in charge at the start of the game). So there’s a lot of anticipation on what these players are going to look like. In this case, we get a look at Furnace, a new master that, as you would expect, is going to heat things up out on the pitch.

New Horus Heresy Character, Star Player Available to Order From Forge World

Forge World once again has two far ends of the spectrum available to order from this week. For you 40k (or, I guess, technically, 30k) fans, they’re expanding their Horus Heresy Characters range with Magistus Amon of the Thousand Sons Legion. Meanwhile, on the Blood Bowl pitches, Skaven players can recruit Glart Smashrip to their team.

Steamforged Previews Team Construction For Blacksmith’s Guild

The Blacksmith’s Guild is an interesting group, to say the least. Steamforged is slowly showing off this new Guild Ball team, teasing us along as they go. This time around, we get a look at team building. Here’s a place where the Blacksmiths break a couple rules. 1st: no mascot. 2nd: no captain (in the traditional sense). 3rd: the team is made up of 1/2 Masters and 1/2 Apprentices.

Games Workshop Taking Pre-Orders For New Age of Sigmar Starter Set and Blood Bowl Teams

Well, you’ve had the new 40k set for a couple weeks now. I’m sure you’re all just so tired of that and want to get back to the Fantasy side of things… or not. But if you’ve been playing 8th Edition and had someone go, “do they make it with, like, wizards and chariots and stuff?” then you can point them towards the new Age of Sigmar starter set that Games Workshop is taking orders for. They’ve also got several classic Blood Bowl teams they’re making to order.

Steamforged Games Taking Pre-Orders For Farmer’s Guild Starter and Dice

My dad’s side of the family is from South Dakota. Many of them are farmers. It’s not easy work. Me, as a city boy, would go and visit and spend a week or so helping out around the farm. It was fun, but man, it would definitely kick my ass. It’s easy to see how such a living would pair well with a physical game like Guild Ball. As such, the Farmer’s Guild will be making their way to the pitch this August (the 18th, to be specific). You can get your name on the list to get the starter set, as well as the faction dice.

Classic Blood Bowl Teams Returning For 1 Week Only

It goes without saying that Games Workshop has been making miniatures for quite a long time now. Many sculpts have come and gone, thought to be never seen again. Well, occasionally, they’ll grab some molds from a bygone time and whip up some figures if you ask them nicely. For Blood Bowl coaches, there’s some classic teams that will be available next week, for one week only, that you can special-order.

New Blood Bowl, 40k Bundles Available To Order From Forge World

Forge World is hitting two ends of the timeline spectrum this week with their releases. On one side, they’re in the far off and mythical past of Blood Bowl with some new goblin secret weapon figures, plus a new pitch to play on, as well as bundling those in with teams and the base box game. On the other side, with the release of the new edition of 40k coming out tomorrow, they’ve created a bunch of different bundles for some of their figures for the various factions, along with the Imperial Armour books to go along with them, available individually or together in a set.

New Thunderhawk, Imperial Armour Books, and Star Players Available To Order From Forge World

It was hard to decide which item to feature here for this latest set of releases from Forge World. They didn’t have anything last week, but they’ve certainly made up for it this week. There’s a new version of the famous Thunderhawk Gunship, a pair of new Imperial Armour books, and a set of several Star Players for Blood Bowl.

Steamforged Previews Anvil For Guild Ball

Well, Steamforged shows off most of Anvil, anyway. We got a little preview back when they first announced the Blacksmith’s Guild, but now we’re getting a little more. They’re showing off the rest of the front of Anvil’s card, along with the majority of the back of it.

Tercios Miniatures Running Tercios Team Fantasy Football Team Kickstarter

I’m always a fan of what different companies come out with in terms of fantasy sports teams. This time around, Tercio Miniatures has a distinctly Spanish-inspired group ready to hit the field and score some touchdowns. The team is up on Kickstarter now.

Grace and Benediction Now Available For Guild Ball

It’s New Release Day over at Steamforged Games. The next couple of releases are available for Guild Ball. I just got a game in of that last night. 12-0 Win for the Hunters against the Union. Though things might’ve been different if these two new Union members had been on the pitch. Grace and Benediction can now be added to your teams.

Clutch Baseball Card Game Releasing This Month

Many of you are not just gaming fans, but you’re also sports fans. I know the cliche is that us nerds don’t know anything about sports, but that’s really not the case. There are many sports games out there that have come and gone, some sadly so. Well, one’s getting a rebirth in a new form. Clutch Baseball is coming out this month. Build your team, make your strategy deck, and swing for the fences.

Steamforged Games Announces Blacksmiths Guild For Guild Ball

The Farmer’s Guild, the new team coming for Season 3 of Guild Ball hasn’t quite hit the pitch yet, but I know many people are looking forward to what’ll be coming next. Well, that’s just been announced. The Blacksmiths’ Guild is coming.

Blood Bowl Season 2 Available For Pre-Order

The new season of Blood Bowl is now available to order from Games Workshop. If you were hoping for some of the teams from the older version of the game that weren’t there in the latest version (for example, Lizardmen for me), you’ll be happy to see that they’re here, as well as some new teams, as well as expanded league rules, updated general rules, and more.

New Ratlings Available to Order from Forge World

Some people see rats as pests. Others see them as pets. Still others see them as a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield or pitch. That last group are Ratling players. They should be excited about a new Star Player for Blood Bowl and a Verminlord for Age of Sigmar being available to order from Forge World.

Resin Rolljordan Necro & Volmarian Dwarf Fantasy Football Teams Up On Kickstarter

It’s amazing how different a figure can cost when made out of different materials. I know that’s pretty common knowledge, but it still often blows my mind. Case in point: Impact! Miniatures and Royal Art Games have a Kickstarter running now in order to make a couple of Rolljordan fantasy football teams out of resin, as opposed to the metal that they’re currently made in. Doing so will basically cut the price in half for said teams. Go check them out now.

Steamforged Announces More Guild Ball Starter Team Sets

Steamforged is looking to repackage some of their old kits in order to do a couple things: make it easier for a player to know what they need to field a basic team and make it easier for stores, since they won’t have as many SKUs on the shelf and in their catalog (note: those are just my guesses, but I think they’re pretty safe guesses). There’d already been some teams that they’re moving over to this new format, but they’ve now announced with the rest will be joining in, as well as the contents of those sets.

Midweek Snippets

The week continues on. Most of my friends had a really busy weekend, so they’re having a bit of a time making it through the week. But it’s halfway over. The next weekend is making its way here as fast as the natural laws of time will allow. What might help is by filling up on some bite-sized gaming stories. Thankfully, that’s what we’ve got for you here.

Today on the platter we have: New Alchemist Tokens Available from Advanced Deployment, Light Hunters Coming To Kickstarter Soon, New Female Egyptian Models Available From Brother Vinni, and New Small Demonic Wings From Kromlech.

Steamforged Previews New Hunter’s Guild Cards for Guild Ball

Well, I’m ridiculously excited. One of my primary teams for Guild Ball is getting a pretty hefty expansion coming out next week. The The Heralds of the Winter’s Moon set comes with a new captain, new mascot, their first veteran player, and a new “regular” player with which to augment your team. They’ve posted up the stat cards for these new figures and I thought you might want to check ’em out.

Steamforged Previews Herald of Winter’s Moon For Guild Ball

The Hunter’s Guild is getting a 4-player expansion later this month. The team, that was new in Season II, is getting themselves a new captain, mascot, their first Veteran player, and a new player. I know I’m excited. We get ourselves a bit of preview. It’s not full stats, but a good overview of each player, as well as a look at some of their abilities and Character Plays.

Steamforged Games Posts Salute Deals

Salute is coming up soon. It’s an all-out, one day extravaganza. Think of a really huge gaming convention, and then cram all of it into a span of just a single day. That’s Salute. And, obviously, such a big deal means that companies at the show have big deals of their own. Steamforged Games is showing off what they’ll have.

Games Workshop Taking Orders For Old Blood Bowl Teams

With a library of miniatures going back literally decades, Games Workshop couldn’t realistically keep everything they’ve ever made in stock. That’d be ridiculous. But since they aren’t made regularly, some older pieces can be really hard to find. Well, occasionally, GW will dive into the vault and come back out with some models they’re willing to spin up for you. And that’s just what they’re doing now with certain Blood Bowl teams and players.

Thursday Terrain Corner

Much of the week was going along just fine. But I don’t know why, but I felt like yesterday should’ve been Thursday already. I mean, I was in my Wednesday shirt and all, and the first part of the week seemed to be moving along at a normal pace. But then… yeah, didn’t we just do Thursday yesterday? Apparently not, because today’s Thursday. And that means we need to make your gaming tables look as good as possible.

New Guild Team Boxes Available To Order From Steamforged Games

When the Hunter’s Guild came out in Season 2 for Guild Ball, their box set contained a full team. You had your captain, mascot, and four players all in one place. Previous boxes just came with a captain and two players. Well, going forward, Steamforged is looking to make all their guilds have full-team boxes. The Fishermen, Engineers, and Butchers are thus getting new team boxes.

New Blood Bowl, Modelling Supplies Available to Order From Games Workshop

On just about every Blood Bowl team, you’ll have “the big guy.” You know, that one player who literally towers above the rest, daring the opponent’s players to try and tackle them. For many, that “big guy” comes in the form of a Troll, and Games Workshop has started taking orders for a new one over on their website. They’ve also got a pack of Special Play cards, plus a bunch of hobby tools with which you can put your team together.

New Guild Ball Releases Available From Steamforged Games

Guild Ball is getting a trio of new players hitting the pitch today. You’ve got a giant robot, a girl with alchemical gas-jets attached to her wrists, and an old sea hag.
Just goes to show that the various Guilds are rather inclusive. If you’re able to help out on the pitch, there’s a place for you on the team.
