Wizards has posted a new warband construction article, Against the Giants Champion’s Notebook, tasking four players to come up with warband based on the Against the Giants D&D Miniatures expansion.
From their website:
This installment of Champion’s Notebook is an Against the Giants test. Our four warriors each selected a different faction and built a 200-point warband around it. The sweet part — at least 100 points must be from the nearly-released Against the Giants expansion. Read on and be illuminated.

Two Hour Wargames have announced the release of their Warrior Heroes hybrid skirmish/RPG rules.
From their website:
Warrior Heroes is a hybrid, not a miniatures wargame or a role-playing game (RPG) but both. Warrior Heroes combines the best of wargaming miniatures with the personal touch of role-playing. The combat system is best described as intense yet simple in mechanics. Combat takes center stage, as when you enter combat there’s no guarantee that you’ll survive. That’s what makes it intense.
Added to this is a simple-to-use campaign and battle-generator system that can give you the who, what, and why of your adventures. Within minutes the mechanics can generate a complete adventure, down to the motivation and actions of the enemy forces. All without a game master, because in Warrior Heroes everyone plays, not just watches.

Upper Deck have posted a new World of Warcraft miniatures preview; Azarak Wolfsblood.
From their website:
Stay down and keep a low profile. The Survival Hunter is one of the most feared beasts in all of Azeroth, stalking its prey with skills adapted to holding their own in a one-on-one fight. The Horde’s Azarak Wolfsblood is tip-toeing around the enemy minis, picking them off in the way only a Hunter can. Azarak is well known in the World of Warcraft TCG for surviving by the skin of his teeth to fight time and again, and his miniature is no different.

Sally White from Hasslefree Miniatures writes:
Its that time again folks. Long-standing regular HF customers will know that HF run two ‘bonus’ times each year. One in July to celebrate mine and Megs birthdays and one at the beginning of December.
Usually our summer sale runs mid-July until the end of July but this year we have brought it forward for two reasons:
1: So that it doesn’t clash with the children’s summer holidays.
2: The production schedule is all over the place due to my illness and this will give me a bit of breathing space to try and get it back on schedule.
This means this year it will run from Tuesday 1st July until Monday 21st July.

Rackham have posted several new previews of upcoming miniatures for Confrontation.
The Red Lioness
Swordsmen
Swordsmen are the blade that the Barhans thrust into their enemy´s side…Or against which enemy troops break like waves. Their two handed sword gives them rare striking power. But still it is nothing compared to their master strike.
Supported by a bard whose spell guarantees they will not fail a roll, they also have access to a war staff. The musician makes them harder to touch and the standard bearer reinforces their determination in combat. If there ought to be only one kind of elite soldiers, it ought to be the swordsmen.
Reapers of Alahan
The reapers of Alahan are young nobles who have developed a combat style on the margin of traditional techniques. Without armor or steed, they have enriched the fencing of swordsmen with the art of gun fighting, integrating pistols into their own way of fighting a war. Dauntless and impertinent, the reapers of Alahan will disobey orders and rush through enemy lines in search of some feat of arms to accomplish. Their survival is as much to do with courage as with stealth and boldness: it isn´t uncommon to see reapers serenely strolling through an enemy encampment, relying on their opponent´s stupefaction and the cheek of their move to avoid combat.

News and a rumour of a possible price increase today from Dark Sword Miniatures.
From their announcement:
We have a good deal of new greens to post up in the weeks leading to Gen Con Indy in August. We will get new greens posted up about every week leading to Gen Con Indy.
But to start the 4th of July Festivities off with a bang, I figured it would be best to kick things off with pictures of our 6th Anniversary Miniature (or Miniatures I should say) of: Miss Marike Reimer - Mistress of the Bugs - Sculpted by Mr. Tom Meier.
Yes folks, we decided to immortalize the very talented Miss Marike Reimer in pewter. And to make matters even better, there is a 54mm version and a standard 28mm version of her in different poses. So if you always wanted a Gigantic Marike in your army to stomp on your opponents, now is your chance. Both versions go together in terms of the storyline of her journey to becoming a Goddess of well…Bugs.
