Gen Con Day 3 Photos

I swear this show is just screaming by this year. It’s already the end of Day 3. Today will be the last day for Gen Con 2016. As usual for Gen Con Saturday, it was a whirlwind of activity. There was roaming the hall, taking photos most of the morning and early afternoon. Then there was the media event in the CMON booth. Expect a few more posts about games from that in the morning. My brain’s just too fried to do much more than get you a recap of the photos I posted earlier today.

Review Roundup

It’s the Saturday before Gen Con. A week from now we’ll be shoulder-deep in the show.
Of course, that means this weekend is full of running around like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to get everything done before heading to Indy.
But, even with all the brouhaha, there’s time to bring you the reviews that you so desperately desire.

This week we have: Book of Nox Deluxe, Fishy Tactics, Agamemnon, Infinity Morat Rodoks, Tyrants of the Underdark, Scythe, Dungeon Busters, Dead of Winter: The Long Night, Portal: The Uncooperative Cake Acquistion Game, Vampire Hunters, Via Nebula, Antarctica, Titan Race, Agricola: Revised Edition, and Vikings on Board.

Review Roundup

Congratulations! You’ve made it to Saturday! *throws a little party*
Mine’s been busy so far. We’re just a couple weeks out from Gen Con, and that means about a million little things to get done (along with a couple big things) before heading to the show. My “To Do” list is imposing, but with steady work, I’ll chew through it all.
*looks at list* Hmm, “Type up Review Roundup.”
Alrighty…

Today we have: Sugi, Stak Bots, Food Fighters, Infinity Combined Army Onyx Force, Galaxy Defenders: Operation Strikeback Expansion, SET, Dragonwood, Millennium Blades, Beyond Baker Street, Dark Dealings, America, Fate of the Elder Gods, Burano, Happy Party, and My Village.

Corvus Belli France National Day Contest

Gee, I never realized how many “National Days” are all lumped pretty close together here in the summer. Thankfully, Corvus Belli has been reminding us of all of them by having a special contest on pretty much every one. Today’s France’s National Day and once again Corvus Belli is having a contest.

Corvus Belli Taking Pre-Orders For Operation Red Veil Box Set

We all know my love of 2-player starter sets for games. You and a buddy can make a single purchase, grab some glue, and get to playing as soon as the figures are together. It’s the single-purchase ease of a board game, but in a minis game. Well, Corvus Belli has a new Infinity starter box that they’re taking orders for. It’s called Operation Red Veil.

Corvus Belli Previews June Infinity Releases

The month of June is most of the way done. But there’s still plenty of time for companies to have releases for the month. Take, for example, Corvus Belli. They’ve posted up previews of their releases for June so you can go, “ooh” and “aah” before they’re posted in the company’s webshop.

Republic Day Giveaway From Corvus Belli

Gaming really is an international hobby. While all of us mostly just focus on what’s happening down at our LGS, the companies that make our games really are international, and there are millions of LGS’s all across the world. So companies like Corvus Belli celebrate special holidays from all over. Today they’re celebrating Republic Day in Italy with a special giveaway.

Corvus Belli Posts New Infinity Releases

We’re coming to the end of the month and the start of a new one. That’s a perfect time for companies to put out some new products (considering there are people out there that get paid at the start of the month). Corvus Belli certainly thinks it’s a good time to post up some new Infinity releases. And so they have.

Corvus Belli Shows of The Onyx Contact Force For Infinity

The Combined Army for Infinity is getting themselves a new Sectorial Army. That would be The Onyx Force. You can find out about them in the Human Sphere N3 book. They’ve also got a 300-point starter force, of which we get a deeper look into in this article they just posted.

Latest Releases For Infinity Available In Corvus Belli Webshop

Quite a mixed bag in terms of Infinity releases this month from Corvus Belli. No, not “some good stuff and some terrible stuff” (since I don’t actually know the stats of all the models). And not in a, “some good looking models and some ugly models” (because Corvus Belli’s stuff always looks awesome). No, “mixed bag” in terms of, well… a healer with a shotgun, a new starter set, and a gigantic, multi-legged, tank-thing.

More Some More Adepticon Photos

It’s early Sunday morning, and that means packing things up here in the room. It’s the final day of Adepticon. If you’ve been here, I hope you’ve had a good time. If you’ve not been here, I hope the photos have helped you live vicariously through my lens. To help with that, here’s some more galleries of events from the show.

And stay tuned this afternoon for the results from the Crystal Brush awards.

More Photos From Adepticon

Man! Today sure has been busy! I’ve gotten a bunch of photos taken. I’ve talked to a lot of really cool people. I’ve gotten a demo of a brand new game (demo report forthcoming). And I’ve had Portillo’s. Can’t get any better than that, really. So if you’ve not been following the coverage over on the TGN Facebook Page, here’s what you’ve been missing:

Greek Independence Draw From Corvus Belli

Happy Greek Independence day! *waves a Greek flag and passes out the hummus and gyros*

Corvus Belli Posts March Infinity Releases

Along with their special St. Patrick’s giveaway, Corvus Belli is also showing off the next group of releases for Infinity.
You know, not everyone in a miniatures game, especially one like Infinity, has to be a super-combat-wombat. It’s not always going to be a figure with a huge machine gun and tons of armor. You’ve got a lot of support figures. This month, a lot of the minis fall into that category.

Saint Patrick’s Day Draw From Corvus Belli

I am 50% Irish, from my mother’s side. So of course I’m celebrating St. Patrick’s. Though I don’t drink, so I’m just going for the corned beef without the Guinness. I’m also going to hopefully win me some Kaeltar Specialists from Corvus Belli in their St. Patrick’s Day drawing.

Thursday Terrain Corner

The week rolls along, picking up speed as we head down from Wednesday’s “hump day” through Thursday. It’s been a busy one around here. Lots of stuff going on for the conventions coming up (some next week, some at the end of the month). Lots of prep work to be done between now and then. Hopefully with some gaming in there somewhere. I’ve got a hobby project I’m going to be working on this weekend. What do you guys have planned?

Today, of course, we have another Terrain Corner feature.

In this installment, we have: Terminus Segments Kickstarter Final Days, Manorhouse Workshop Update #16 – Let’s make the 3D Bases suffer a bit, Battlemap Layers passed 80% Funding with 15 Days to Go, Lands of Mars: Pwork Wargames science fiction gaming mat now available, and Lots of new temple models from Infinity-Engine.

Corvus Belli Posts Up New Infinity Releases

In today’s Terrain Corner we got a look at some new terrain pieces specifically designed for Infinity. Well, if you’ve got terrain for Infinity, you might as well have some miniatures for Infinity. Well, it’s a good thing that Corvus Belli is coming out with some new Infinity models, then, isn’t it?

Thursday Terrain Corner

We’re working our way there, everyone. We’ve made it to Thursday. Just the rest of today and then Friday and we’ll be set for the weekend. Mine’s looking like it’ll be full of teaching someone Warmachine and then actually getting Guild Ball out on the table and playing. Both of those games need some terrain to really mix things up. I mean, sure, you could play them on flat, open boards, but where’s the fun in that? Thankfully, there’s terrain options. And we’ve got some more options available with this Terrain Corner.

Today’s articles include: Battlemap Layers Up On Kickstarter, Victorian Steampunk Modular Tabletop Terrain On Kickstarter, Warsenal releases Cosmica Wave Two for Infinity, Pwork Releases Darkburg Fantasy Gaming Mat, Manorhouse Workshop Update #13 – Inside the ruins, and Acheson’s Dungeon Worlds KickStarter Releases New Products.

Well, we’re back once more to Monday. The weekend is gone and we can only bask in the memories. I hope yours was good. Mine was certainly productive. Got a lot of stuff done around the apartment, as well as putting together all those Guild Ball models. But that’s all done. Now it’s back in the office. But it’s alright, there will be another weekend. In the meantime, we gotta make sure our gaming tables look the best.

Today’s Terrain Corner articles include: New Mid February Armorcast Terrain Products, Micro Art Studios Infinity Terminus Segments Up On Kickstarter, Pwork Wargames releases fantasy gaming mat: Arid Plain, and New Releases Available from Eslo Terrain.

Sunday Snippets

Ah, Sunday.
For me, at least, the relaxing day of the week. Sure, there’s chores to do like laundry and cooking for the week, but overall, it’s a day to just relax a bit. Also, I’m told there’s some major sporting event-thing going on today. Ok, I know it’s the Super Bowl. But I’m more of a “hockey” guy than a “football” guy. But hey, if you are going to watch the Super Bowl, nothing goes better than a bunch of bite-sized snacks.

Speaking of bite-sized, here’s some bite-size stories to munch on.

Today we have: ADAPT Card Game Reaches Funding Goal, Nightmare Forest: Dead Run Reaches Funding Goal, New Old West Releases From Knuckleduster, Battle Arena Show Reaches Funding Goal, New Statuesque Asylum character and TWO new sizes of female head sprues, New Warsenal Limited Edition Unit Markers for Infinity The Game Released, New Video Preview for Polyversal 6mm SciFi Game, The Rhinotaur Added to Circle of Chaos Kickstarter, Age of Tyrants announces how to play videos, The Dryden Heavy Destroyer Miniature is Now Available, and Mountain Miniatures preview pics for End of Times Kickstarter.

Infinity 3rd Edition Rulebook in French Available For Pre-orders

I only speak English, as I’d mentioned yesterday. However, I do know a bit if French. I first learned it back in highschool (about 95 years ago, it seems), taking 2 year’s worth. I originally picked French because, at the time, I was sure I was going to be a hockey player and if I had French-Canadian teammates, I’d like to know what they were saying. Well, I never became a hockey player and I never kept up with my French, but for those of you out there that do speak French, you can now pre-order the 3rd Edition Infinity rulebook from Corvus Belli and get a free model, too.

Corvus Belli Australia Day Giveaway

Happy Australia Day to all our friends down under! I… can’t say that I know much about Australia beyond what Men at Work have told me. But I certainly would like to visit one day. Besides me, Corvus Belli would also like to wish everyone a happy Australia Day. Though they’re also having a giveaway with it.

Corvus Belli Posts New Infinity Profiles

As long-time readers of TGN will know, I’ve always been a fan of games that have their rules up online so you can check them out before you go in and buy either the game, in general, or a specific model to add to your force. I think it shows a lot of trust in their product and it shows me respect as a customer, since I know, going in, that I’m going to like a figure before I buy it. The fastest way to make me dislike a game is make me waste money on figures I’m not going to like, because I had to get them without knowing what they did.

Corvus Belli Creating Limited Edition Achilles Figures for Infinity

It’s amazing how fast time goes by. Sometimes you think, “oh hey, I thought that game just came out” when you realize it’s been around for a decade already. Not to say that I constantly think that Infinity just came out, but I’d not realized that it’d been a decade since the sci-fi skirmish game made it to store shelves. Well, it has, and Corvus Belli is celebrating with special edition versions of Achilles.

Thursday Terrain Corner

To think that just a week ago, at this point I was just hanging out, playing some Ascension, thinking about getting that first turkey in the oven. Sorry if it seems I keep going on and on about it, but it really was a great Thanksgiving, and it is my favorite holiday of the entire year. This year’s proved why. Good friends. Good gaming. Good food. Lots to be thankful for. That includes, of course, good terrain.
Because transitions!

Anyway, in today’s terrain corner we have: Heroic Maps Modular Kit: Town Shops 1 & 2 released, New Infinity Warehouse Table Set available from Micro Art Studio, and Flexible 15mm River & Road system Released by Novus Design Studio.

Those stories are: Baueda Posts New Infinity Terrain Pieces and Trash Bash Bits Part 2 Now Funding.
