But it’s not just any Saturday.
It’s the Saturday of a 3-day weekend.

May Releases Available From CMON

This month brings you quite a lot of releases from CMON. There’s a new robot fighting game (so you know I’m on board). There’s a new worker-placement game (again, right up my alley). There’s also a bunch of Arcadia Quest releases, including new pets and dragons (gee, did they make all these releases just for me, or what?).

May Releases Available For Dark Age

As you all know, last weekend we had the CMON Expo. While there, players of Dark Age were able to pick up the latest releases, and now they’re available for anyone who wasn’t able to make it to the show. This is one you want to check out if you play, as it includes the new Core Rulebook and Secondary Objective Cards.

Dark Age Immortals at CMON Expo 2017

One of the big events that happens at CMON Expo is the Dark Age Immortals tournament. This is the culmination of an entire year’s worth of qualifying events, with the winners of those getting a Bloodgelt that lets them participate in the finals. The prize? Being able to work with the design team in order to create your own miniature and have it forever be a part of the Dark Age game world. So the stakes are high, and everyone’s wanting to get that ultimate prize.

Dark Age & Wrath of Kings Panel From CMON Expo 2017

As we should all know, A Song of Ice and Fire is not CMON’s first foray into a miniatures game. They’re long-standing game, Dark Age, as well as Wrath of Kings, are both still being developed. They’ve had a couple panels for these two games, hosted by Bryan Steele, Dave Taylor, and David Doust. There’s quite a lot going on for you to check out.

A Song of Ice and Fire Seminar at CMON Expo 2017

Hey everyone. We’re here at CMON Expo 2017 at the A Song of Ice and Fire panel. This is the first real chance people are getting to hear about the upcoming miniatures game from designers Michael Shinall and Eric M. Lang. On the panel, we have Eric, Michael, and Guille (producer for the project). This is a Q & A fashion event, so I’ll be getting you as many of the questions and answers as possible.
Also, at the bottom, I got a bunch of pictures of some of the miniatures that will be in the starter box for the game (note: the miniatures shows are resins and not the final production plastics)
So let’s get to it!

Unfair Available Now From CMON

Lots of people love to go to amusement parks. The rides. The games. The food. There’s certainly plenty to do there. But the competition for those entertainment dollars means that parks are in fierce competition with one-another. In Unfair, players are the owners of their own theme park. They must do whatever they can in order to get people to come to their park and not their competitions. Sure, that’ll include building cool rides, but it can also mean sabotaging the competition. Nobody said life’s fair. Unfair is available now.

CMON Posts Green Horde Overview, Announces Kickstarter Launch Date

Be that as it’s May, we’ve got all sorts of plants blooming. The world is becoming green. Though the green that’s just over the horizon isn’t quite what we want to have in our garden. Green Horde is the new standalone set coming for Zombicide: Black Plague. It’ll be launching at the end of May on Kickstarter and CMON’s posted an overview of what you can expect.

New Releases Available For Dark Age

The Dragyri are the alien race that has longest inhabited the planet where Dark Age takes place. For too long, they just let the humans do whatever they wanted. Now, they’re joining together to retake their now-desolate planet. They’re getting another reinforcement shot in the latest releases for the game, available now.

CMON Inc Hires Adam Lovell as General Manager

Here’s one that I’ve known about for a bit, but can finally tell all of you about. CMON Inc is getting a new General Manager in the form of Adam Lovell. He’s bringing a lot of experience with the gaming community to the party. It’s going to be good to welcome here to the Atlanta office.

April Releases Available From CMON

It’s release day for a bunch of new games and expansions from CMON. That includes one of my new favorite games, Ethnos. Other than that, Rum & Bones 2nd Tide, the Pets expansion for Arcadia Quest, and 75 Gnom’ Street are all available now down at your gaming shop.

CMON Announces Zombicide: Green Horde

Overnight, CMON’s Rising Sun Kickstarter came to an end. It did alright. If you consider $4.2 million, “alright.” o,O
As has become customary, the end of the old campaign ushers in an announcement of a new one. In this case, it’s a new expansion for Zombicide: Black Plague. In this case, it’s Green Horde. Yes, as if humans, wolves, and crows weren’t bad enough, now the survivors of the zombie plague will have to fight zombie orcs and goblins.

March Releases Available From CMON

It’s the last day of the month. We’re 1/4 of the way through the year. The summer heat isn’t far away. Time to get your board game collection bulked up and get set for some hot months ahead (or cold ones, if you’re down south). CMON’s got a whole bunch of new releases available today that you can pick up at your LGS.

March Releases Available For Dark Age

Many, many, many times I have said it’s great for a game to have two-player starter sets. With one purchase, you can get yourself everything you need to get going right away with a game (except for maybe needing some glue). Well, with the latest releases for Dark Age, they, too, now have a 2-player starter set. They’re also heading over to plastic for this new group of minis. The starter and several new releases are available now.

Ah, Saturday. And it’s Games Day at the Milton Library. So, of course, that means it’s raining. Funny how that seems to be happening. 3rd weekend of the month, we’ve got some rain. CMON Play Retailer Program Announced

I’d been hinting and alluding to a lot of things over the past couple months. Stuff that I couldn’t rightly talk about. One of those things was that I had been playtesting A Song of Ice and Fire. The other thing is that I’d been doing pretty much all the writing for the new CMON Play Retailer Program. Ok, so maybe that’s not as exciting to you as A Song of Ice and Fire. But I still think it’s cool.

CMON Posts Preview Photos Of A Song of Ice and Fire From GAMA

So, there’s been a lot of big news over the past couple days. Arguably one of the biggest was that CMON is going to be making A Song of Ice and Fire miniatures game. Well, they posted some photos from the show, including a couple preliminary shots of the miniatures (along with a look at some other things they’re working on).

A Song of Ice and Fire Miniatures Game Coming From CMON

So, this is one of the ones I’ve really been having to bite my tongue about for the past couple months. I’ve been playtesting the A Song of Ice and Fire Miniatures Game. Yeah, it’s not been easy to not go, “Hey! Everyone! Look at what I’m playing!!!” I think you’re going to like it. It’s a great mix of a rank-and-file miniatures game that runs smoothly like a skirmish game does, with great scale-ability. Meaning you can easily play a small skirmish between just a couple units, or have a huge battle where entire houses are attacking each-other on the battlefield.

CMON Limited Hires Eric Lang as Director of Game Design

I told you there was some more, really important news coming from GAMA. This time around, it’s that CMON Limited has hired on Eric M. Lang (you know him as the designer/co-designer of such games as Dice Masters, Blood Rage, Bloodborne the card game, Rising Sun, The Godfather: Corleone’s Empire, and about seemingly 5,000 other things) as their new Director of Game Design. So yeah, he’s got a permanent space as the guy who’ll be dictating how the games made by the company will play.

CMON Limited Hires Adrian Smith as Lead Artist

Well, GAMA is just getting underway and we’ve already got a pretty big bit of news for you (ok, to be fair, I knew about this one before this morning). CMON Limited has hired Adrian Smith as the lead artist for the company. So, if you’re a fan of his work in Blood Rage, Zombicide, and back when he did work for Magic: the Gathering and Warhammer, then you’ll be happy to see his work on upcoming CMON games.

CMON Announces Retailer Pledge For Rising Sun

The Friendly Local Gaming Store (FLGS for short) is really the center of gaming life. It’s where we gamers congregate and play games, as well as pick up the great games we play. Well, CMON wants to make sure the LGS isn’t overlooked when it comes to Kickstarter campaigns. That’s where their Retailer Pledges come in for their Kickstarter campaigns. Brick-and-mortar retail shops in North America can sign up and be part of the Kickstarter as their shop, letting their customers come to them and still get all those great Kickstarter exclusives.

CMON Launches Rising Sun Kickstarter

This is one that people have been looking forward to since its announcement last year at Gen Con. CMON has launched the Kickstarter campaign for Rising Sun. The game, designed by Eric Lang, with artwork by Karl Kopinski, and featuring miniatures from Mike McVey, the game takes players back to Feudal Japan, putting them in charge of the various clans, all vying for power. But first, a nice cup of tea.

CMON Previews March Wrath of Kings Releases

We’re officially a week into March. Seems like a good time to get the word out about the releases that will be happening this month. At least, CMON thinks so (and I certainly agree). They’ve put up a short video showing off what new box sets will be available for Wrath of Kings.

CMON Limited Hires Stefan Kopinski as Senior Artist

The art in a game can really make or break it. We’ve all played games that drew us in via the great artwork for it. That’s the first thing you’re going to see, really, about a game. So having a great artist on staff means a game company can count on great-looking games. Well, CMON Ltd. has just hired on Stefan Kopinski as a Senior Artist. So you know their upcoming games are certainly going to look great.

CMON Previews Diplomacy in Rising Sun

There’s a lot of games out there that have you battle it out against your opponent, crushing them with the might of your military industrial complex. Few include a way to talk your way out of conflict, though. Rising Sun is in that latter category, with diplomacy and alliance-forming being a major part of the game play. But how does it work? We get a bit of a look of it in this new preview.

CMON Releases Monstrous Card Game

Sure, they say it’s good to be the king. But you know what’s better? Being the god. What’s so fun about being a god? Well, how about when you literally hurl monsters down from the heavens to punish those puny mortals who didn’t quite burn your favorite incense during worship yesterday, or who aren’t genuflecting as low as they used to, or who have been skimming off the top of your holy wine stores? Sounds pretty good. It also sounds like what you get to do in Monstrous, the new card game available form CMON and Good Games Publishing.

CMON Posts Rising Sun Interview With Eric Lang

It seems you all have been just eating up the Rising Sun previews we’ve had. And I can’t blame you. I’m really looking forward for this one, too. Well, we’ve seen a lot of miniatures, but what about gameplay? CMON has posted up a short interview with Eric Lang were they get a bit into the overall way the game works.

February Releases Available For Dark Age

It might be winter, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things that go “bump” in the night you should be concerned about. The February releases for Dark Age are up and they feature a lot of the Dargyri Shadow Caste. But if your response to spiders is “Kill it with fire!” there’s the Fire Caste starter set, too. And even then, that’s not all there is!
