CMON Previews Arcadia Quest: Riders

At a media event held by CMON, they previewed numerous upcoming games that they have been working on. The first that I’d like to talk about is Arcadia Quest: Riders. Sure, the Guilds have had animal companions with their cute, little pets. But now, they’ll be able to actually take to battle riding impressive steeds!

May Releases Available From CMON

This month brings you quite a lot of releases from CMON. There’s a new robot fighting game (so you know I’m on board). There’s a new worker-placement game (again, right up my alley). There’s also a bunch of Arcadia Quest releases, including new pets and dragons (gee, did they make all these releases just for me, or what?).

Review Roundup

It’s that time again, everyone. It’s Saturday. When you read this, it’ll be at least 2pm, Eastern. But for me, currently, it’s 5:30am. I’ve got a group of friends coming over for some gaming starting at 9am and have a bunch to get done before that. We’ll probably get in some Ascension, Blokus, maybe Dogs of War. All good stuff. Also, we’ll probably talk about characters for a D&D game that’s starting to coalesce. But that’s as may be, in the meantime, I need to type up your Review Roundup for the day.

Today we have: Arcadia Quest, The Pioneers Program, Dungeon Saga, The Hunt for the Ring, Tripods & Triplanes, Brides & Bribes, Terraforming Mars, Guild Ball, Cry Havoc, Flip City and Flip City: Reuse, Steam Time, M.U.L.E., Brick Party, and Snowdonia.

Review Roundup

It’s another Saturday.
Through an odd turn of events, I’m in the office. So Monday and Tuesday I was home because I was sick. Now it’s Saturday and I’m in the office because my internet is broken at home (overnight storm fried my modem). But all is well. Things are getting done.

Anyway, as for the roundup, we have: Hoard, ManaSurge, Africana, Vikings Gone Wild, Empires At Sea, Adorable to Horrible, Secret Hitler, Rhino Hero, Descent: Road to Legend, Isle of Skye, Tanks, Escape From the Aliens in Outerspace, Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia, and New Earth.

It’s been a great day here at the CMON Expo. Lots of cool stuff going on. Lots to see. Lots to do.

Final Day for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia Kickstarter

So it happens with these sorts of things, the Kickstarter campaign for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia is coming to an end. The campaign will end tomorrow at 7pm Eastern. So if you want to get in there and help retake the guild’s training grounds from the evil clutches of Malaphyas, you’d better act now.

Monster Dice Add-On Added To Masmorra Kickstarter

Well, if you’re going to have a dungeon, you’d better have it full of monsters. That’s what I’d think, anyway. And that’s what CoolMiniOrNot and Spaghetti Western think as well, as they’ve added a new Monsters Dice add-on to their Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia Kickstarter campaign.

New Add-Ons For Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia on Kickstarter

Watch It Played, for those that don’t know, is a YouTube channel that, well… it’s sort of right there in the name, but it’s a channel devoted to showing gamers how to play many of the great games that exist in our hobby. Rodney Smith has been running the channel for several years and many of his videos feature his son, Luke (who is known to just have “the touch” when it comes to getting dice to work in his favor). Well, Luke’s now getting his own figure for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia.

Adventurers Set Add-On Added to Masmorra Kickstarter

If you’re going to clean out the Masmorra dungeon and return to being a guild training ground, you’re going to need help. Well, now you can pick from several more heroes to go down there and deal with those monsters. A new Adventurers Set add-on has been… well… added on to the Masmorra Kickstarter campaign.

Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia Launches on Kickstarter

Masmorra is a massive dungeon complex underneath the city of Arcadia. But it wasn’t originally intended as a place of dark despair. No, this was a training ground for the various heroes all looking to become a member of the different Guilds of heroes within the city. However, the dark warlock Malaphyas has since decided “a dungeon needs an evil overlord in charge of it” and claimed himself as that evil overlord. Now, instead of Guild hopefuls, Masmorra’s corridors are full of Malaphyas’ minions. But, heroes being heroes (even if they’re just heroes-in-training) are going to do what they’re going to do. So it’s time to go clean out those dungeons and return them to the rightful owners. That’s the story behind Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia, which has just launched on Kickstarter.

Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia Kickstarter Launch Date Announced

Sometimes there’s a game you really love the world for, but you want to play something different than the “standard” game that you have with it. For many systems, that’s not really much of an option. However, if you’re a fan of Arcadia Quest but want to see something new, look no further than Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia. The Kickstarter launches in a week.

CoolMiniOrNot Announces Masmorra Kickstater

Well, the XenoShyft: Dreadmire Kickstarter has ended in a rousing success. Now begins the work of getting the game produced and sent out to eager backers. But what if you weren’t a fan of the sci-fi deck-building game? Or maybe you were a fan and backed, but you also love the world of Arcadia Quest and want to see the next product for it? Well, at the end of the XenoShyft campaign, we’ve got an announcement about the next CoolMiniOrNot project coming to Kickstarter, Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia.

TGN Saturday Edition: Review Roundup

As I mentioned before, this week really seemed to go by fast. At least I thought so. Here it is, Saturday morning (well, it’s morning when I’m working on this post, anyway), getting ready for a full day of cooking (pot roast and banana pudding cheesecake pie) and thinking, “wasn’t it just Tuesday, like, yesterday?” Anyway, as my day is full of cooking, I hope your day is full of gaming. But what games should you play? Well, how about a list of reviews to help you make your choice? Seems like a good plan.

Today’s topics include: Arcadia Quest, Star Wars Risk, The Voyages of Marco Polo, Dominion: Adventures, Dragonwood, Treasure Hunter, Isle of Skye, Hocus, and Caylus.

The Fire Dragon Slithers Into Arcadia Quest

Well, with all the other dragons that’ve been making their way into Arcadia Quest, it really was only a matter of time before the classic, fire-breathing variety made an appearance. And such is the case now, with the Fire Dragon Box Set Add-on that’s now part of the Inferno Kickstarter campaign.

Poison Dragon Eyeing Arcadia Quest Kickstarter

Well, it seems people were excited about the Whole Lotta Lava expansion box for the Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter campaign. New backers and extra pledges coming in bumped the campaign up and over the $1mil. mark. What does that mean? Well, it means there needs to be new stretch goals to bust down. *sniffsniff* I hope that’s just almonds I smell… as the new Poison Dragon looks to make its way to the campaign.

A Whole Lotta Lava Announced for Arcadia Quest: Inferno

Ok, yeah, I’ve got Christmas music playing right now, but what’s actually running through my head is Led Zepplin thanks to the title of this new expansion announced for Arcadia Quest: Inferno. Ignos, a new Minor Villain, is making (lava) waves in the Inferno, causing all sorts of trouble for the heroes. But his new box set is more than just a new figure to bring to the table.

Chaos Dragon Invades Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter

Chaos is descending upon the heroes of Arcadia Quest… literally… like in the form of a big damn dragon… a Chaos Dragon, to be specific. That’s right, not only is there a Frost Dragon to worry about in the land of Arcadia, there’s a Chaos Dragon as well, and you can add it to your collection as part of the Inferno Kickstarter.

Arcadia Quest Pets, A New Add-On For Now Available

It should probably come as no surprise to you that I’m an animal lover. Until three years ago, I’d always had pets around the house, going back to when I was just a little kid. At parties, I’m the one that’s over in the corner, talking to the dog or cat instead of interacting with the other people there. Well, now Arcadia Quest is bringing in pets to the game. It’s a full expansion that’s just been added to the Arcadia Quest Inferno Kickstarter campaign.

The Frost Dragon Chills out Arcadia Quest

All this heat!
Can’t we do anything to down this Inferno!
*gets hit with a freezing cold blast from the Frost Dragon*
… Thank you!
Yeah, this is one I’ve been anxious to talk about for a while. Arcadia Quest is getting itself a new super-boss monster in the form of the Frost Dragon expansion, now available as an add-on as part of the Inferno Kickstarter campaign.

Option Add-Ons Added to Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter

Well, that was quite a 24 hours for the start of the Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter campaign. The campaign funded in about 5min. It possibly would’ve been sooner, but Kickstarter stalled out briefly right at launch (seems that CMON Kickstarters have that sort of effect). This, of course, then meant that stretch goals were being broken even by the time the first actual update was posted. Well, now it’s time to go through some more as a whole bunch of add-ons have been added.

CoolMiniOrNot Launches Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter

Is it getting hot in here or is it just me?
Actually, things are heating up for every resident of Arcadia. Inferno is upon us. From CoolMiniOrNot and Spaghetti Western Games, the Kickstarter campaign for the new stand-alone expansion for Arcadia Quest has been launched. Head down into the burning caverns, collecting gear and rescuing Angels along the way to the very center of the world.

New Arcadia Quest Heroes Available From CoolMiniOrNot

Yeah, Arcadia Quest Inferno might be just around the corner, but that’s just the Kickstarter campaign (which you can read more about here). There’s gonna be months to wait after that for the figures to make it to your doorstep. In the meantime, though, CoolMiniOrNot has some new heroes to line the ranks of your guild.

CMON Video From Day 2 at Gen Con

The CMON booth was once again a big hive of activity. The World of Smog: On Her Majesty’s Service and The Grizzled joined Blood Rage from the day before as sell-outs at the show. People are simply gobbling up these games like crazy. (personal note: I love The Grizzled. I tried it out at CMON Expo last month and really need to get a copy for myself sometime soon)
