Imperial Skies Wargame Up On Kickstarter Now

Up, up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful ballooooooon!
Granted, I doubt in that song they expected that the balloons would be equipped with cannons and having to worry about returning fire against an opponent. Well, that’s what the airships in Imperial Skies have to deal with. It’s a new alternate-history game that’s up on Kickstarter now.

Tesla Cannon Contest From West Wind Productions Happening Now

Social Media can make or break a company these days. You can’t just have a good website. You’ve also gotta have social media pages where you can reach out and interact with your audience *waves to everyone seeing this on TGN’s Facebook and Twitter pages, too*. Spartan Games Taking Pre-Orders For Latest Products

As usual, just about a month before they’re available, Spartan Games has started taking pre-orders for their next sets of releases. Considering what they have on deck, one could say they’re really making a “token effort” with this new batch.
… I guess you only get that joke when you see what they’re actually taking orders for. I guess I should probably show you that.

TGN Sunday Edition

Welcome to Sunday. We’re glad to have you here. I hope your Saturday was good. Mine involved a Battle Chef cutting down raiders with a Horse Butcher. It was a good time. “Here, eat this.” is apparently going to be a catchprase for him, especially when dealing with the Intelligence 8 Half-Orc Barbarian that’s also part of the party.

But that’s as may be. Let’s get on to a sampler of bite-sized stories for your Sunday afternoon.

A quick one for you today. This batch includes: Happy Seppuku’s Base and Terrain Stamp Upgrade Kickstarter, The Deathless Unlocked in Panzerfauste, and the final week for Smoking Aces on Kickstarter.

Panzerfäuste: Mechanised Warfare in a Mythical Realm Up On Kickstarter

What would the battle of Helm’s Deep be like if the Elves had machine guns? What if the Orcs had grenades (you know… besides that one big one)? What if Hobbits came with towed artillery? That’s answered with games of Panzerfauste. The game takes place in an alternate WWI-esque world where there’s more than just humans. There’s dwarves and orcs and elves and all that fun kind of stuff. They’re up on Kickstarter now and looking for some funding love.

Stonemaier Games Launches Scythe board game Kickstarter

Long-time readers of TGN know that I love mechs. I also love history. So what happens when you throw the two of them together? Well, you get something like Scythe, the new board game by Stonemaier Games that’s up on Kickstarter now. It looks like I’m not the only one who goes for such things, either, since Kickstarter just launched today and it’s already at … oh… over 1000% funded. That’s not a typo.

Dark Skies 1942 Minis Wargame Up On Kickstarter

Weird War II is a fairly popular setting. Taking all that happened in WWII and adding in the supernatural adds even deeper twists and turns to the events of the conflict. Other games deal with what’s happening down on the ground. Dark Skies 1942 takes you into the… well… dark skies over the battlefields. The game is up on Kickstarter now.

Paolo Parente and Dust Studio at CMON Booth For Gen Con

We all know the… things that’ve been going on with Dust Studio and Battlefront over the past year. Rehashing it all here isn’t really important. West Wind Productions Launches Secrets of the Third Reich 2nd Edition Kickstarter

Real-world conspiracy theorists love to talk about all the strange things that the Nazis were trying to do during WWII. It’s well-known that Hitler was interested in ancient (sometimes occult) artifacts and pushing the envelope on science. Well, what if all that was even more true and it all worked? Weird War II is a rather popular setting. One of the games many people have played in the setting is West Wind Productions’ Secrets of the Third Reich. Well, now WWP is running a Kickstarter campaign for a 2nd edition of their game.

They will also have a further update about the project and shipping out product that has been produced next week on the 17th. You can check out the full letter from Mr. Parente below the cut.

Limana Games Launches War of Wonders Miniatures Game Kickstarter

Limana Games has launched their Kickstarter campaign for their WWII Super Heroe 30mm Miniatures Game, War of Wonders. The game takes place in an alternate history where the Germans originally had super heroes fighting on their side. The Jewish scientist, Aaron Spiegelmann, who escaped the tyranny of the 3rd Reich, comes to America and with his help, Project H.O.P.E. gives the Allies their own super heroes to fight back. Eventually, the technology to create these beings, along with other arcane powers make their way into every army involved in the conflict. Who will win this new version of WWII? That’s up to you to decide on the battlefield.
The campaign is set to run for another 29 days and is currently 3/5 funded.

Big April Sale at Spartan Games on Books and Dystpian Legions

Spartan Games has several really great deals going on over in their webshop. For starters, all of their rulebooks are at least half-off. Sure, you can download them for free from their website, but some people like to actually have a book in their hand (I’m included in this count), and Spartan’s making it a lot cheaper for you to do so. The other deal is for Dystopian Legions army bundles. If you’re looking to get either Prussians or English, now’s the time. You get several box sets, the rulebook, tokens, and templates, plus free shipping for one, low price.
These deals last throughout the month of April.

Limana Press has started posting up concept art for their new miniatures game, War of Wonders. It’s an alternate-history WWII skirmish game. It’s sort of WWII but a bit set in the world of Metropolis (the movie, not Superman’s town), with wizards, and mechanica, and other such things added in as well.

An Update about Upcoming Dust Releases

Dust Studio keeps rolling with the world of Dust. They give us an update about what they’ve got in store for the future. First off, they hope to make the Blutkreuz an independent faction, able to play just on their own. They’re also working on coming up with models for the Pacific Theater. That’s a very major part of the whole WWII experience and they hope to have models representing the forces that fought there soon.
