New Dystopian Wars Pre-Orders Available From Spartan Games

There’s a new 2-player starter set coming out for Dystopian Wars. You all know my love of 2-player starters. This one is called Operation North Star. It pits the Teutonic Order from Scandinavia against the Dominion of Canada. Along with the 2-player kit, there’s numerous other sets for the game that are available to pre-order now. They’ll begin shipping out in August.

Dracula’s America Nickstarter Running Now

The description of this game starts with, “It is 1875, and Count Dracula is President of the United States of America.” So it’s got that going for it. It’s like the exact opposite of Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. Well, I don’t know if I can say much more than that, really. Dracula’s America is available via Nickstarter (Osprey’s own Kickstarter-like pre-order campaign) now.

New German Releases Available For Konflikt ’47

WWII continues on. All sides of the conflict are looking to overwhelm their opponents. On the German lines, they’ve been working with a new walker design that they’re sure will help out. Then, with a look at emphasizing precision strikes, they’ve been training some elite sniper units with new, heavier rifles that can even take out enemy vehicles. Both these sets are available for Konflikt ’47 from Warlord Games.

There’s a new book coming out for Team Yankee. It’s called Red Thunder, and as you’d expect from them, they’re having a whole day dedicated to features for it. That day, by the way, is tomorrow. Warlord Games Previews Upcoming Konflikt ’47 Releases

In the world of Konflikt ’47, WWII continues to rage on. The Axis and the Allies both are looking for that one advantage that will finally bring the war to an end. So far, the game has focused on the European front, with German, Russian, American, and British forces. But the war is still going on in the Pacific, too. As such, there’s the Japanese forces to reckon with. Get a look at what they’ll be getting, along with some other pieces for the other forces, in this preview.

Warlord Games Looks Inside Campaign Gigant

The German invasion of Britain not only stalled out, but the counter-attack is threatening to push them back into the sea. With the stakes high, the German High Command is launching Campaign Gigant, their own counter-counter-offensive that will hopefully (for them, anyway) see the tide turn back once more. The new book coming for Bolt Action, Operation Gigant adds new options and missions for players. Warlord Games has posted up another preview looking into just what the operation (militarily) consists of.

So, the Germans have invaded Britain as part of Operation Sea Lion. However, the British put up a significant defense and have actually driven the Germans back to the sea. New Bruin and Jackal Walkers Available For Konflikt ’47

We’ve been seeing a lot of Soviet and German releases for Konflikt ’47 recently. But that’s not to say that the Americans have just been sitting around, doing nothing. The engineers have been hard at work on a pair of walkers of their own. We present to you, the Bruin and the Jackal.

Shattered Crown Weird War I Game Up On Kickstarter

Good news, everyone! We have defeated the Martians!
The problem is that the world alliance that was able to do so didn’t really last, and it looks like all the nations are gearing up for what will surely be called The Great War.
That’s the broad story behind Shattered Crown, a new alternate history miniatures skirmish game that’s up on Kickstarter. The initial launch looks to fund a line of figures representing the Harlem HellFighters, the first African American regiment to serve in the American Expeditionary Force in the war.

New Konflikt ’47 Releases Available From Warlord Games

Trevor Noah has a new special out on Netflix. In it, he has this whole bit about Russian being the scariest accent out there. If you ever want to frighten someone away, just start talking in a thick Russian accent. So I could only assume that if you were to have a conversation with the Daughters of the Motherland, available now for Konflikt ’47 from Warlord Games, it’d be a frightening experience. You might just prefer to talk to the Flammspinne Panzermech instead.

Mauser Earth: War for Paris Up On Kickstarter

There’s a couple games out there that give us alternate versions of WWII where the war continues on much longer than it did here in the real world. Well, Mauser Earth does much the same, but with WWI. There’s a new expansion for the game up on Kickstarter called War for Paris. It focuses on Texas and the troubles going on there. *reads a memo slid across my desk* … France! It focuses on France and the troubles going on there.

New Konflikt ’47 Releases Available From Warlord Games

Ok, so maybe this next set of Konflikt ’47 releases aren’t quite as cool (personal opinion) as the last set of releases, they’re still pretty cool. Warlord Games has a new batch of kits for the British, Soviets, and US forces.

The weekend is pretty much upon us. We just need to finish up this afternoon and we’ll be there. Do you have plans? I’m still unsure. Though I think I want to make a cheesecake, because it’s been a while since I’ve made cheesecake. Probably make more strawberry-lime sauce to go with it. Or maybe I’ll do raspberry-lime. I don’t know. But there’s still time to think about it. In the meantime, we gotta fill up on some bite-size gaming stories.

On the platter today we have: West Wind Productions Announces Panzer Mech Kickstarter, Ninja Division Announces Relic Knights 2nd Edition Kickstarter, Wiley Games New Home Of Fistful of Lead, New Animal Explorers From RN Estudio, Khurasan releases M1152 with canvas cover, New Releases From Hitech Miniatures, New Release from Kromlech, and Rectangular Bases on Sale From Micro Art Studio.

Battlefront Gives the History of the Volksarmee For Team Yankee

At the end of WWII, Germany was divided. On one side, you had the French, British, and Americans. On the other, you had the Russians. All were allies during the war, but the differences between their political and economic systems caused them to quickly drift apart. The Iron Curtain came down all across Europe and that set the stage for the Cold War. In Team Yankee, that Cold War turns Hot. In this article, we get a look at the history of the East German forces, the Volksarmee.

Dime Adventures: Pulp Alternate History Roleplaying Up On Kickstarter

Fiction is a wonderful thing. While there is certainly plenty of strange and wonderful things in our own, real world… we can’t ride around on dinosaurs or own a flying saucer or control lightning with our minds. But in a fictional world, anything is possible. And “anything is possible” is pretty much what’s going on in Dime Adventures, a pulp alternative history RPG that’s up on Kickstarter now.

Gamemaster’s Guide for 1879 RPG Up On Kickstarter

The world of Fasa’s 1879 is a bit different than the one you learned about in history class. Here, Albert and Victoria are still in control of the British Empire, but that empire now includes Grosvenor Land. Or, it would include it, if the natives weren’t being so persnickety about it. Found by going through a portal known as the Rabbit Hole, the land is one that seems split off from the rest of history. There’s fertile plains, towering mountains, giant insects, and the Babylonians (who managed to find the place 3000 years earlier). Then there’s the Saurid tribes. They’re lizard-like beings that also inhabit the land. If you’d like to take your players into such a world, you will be able to with the 1879 Gamemaster’s Guide, which is up on Kickstarter now.

Volksarmee Coming For Team Yankee, Pre-Orders Being Taken

The Volksarmee, or People’s Army, might just sound like a small group of volunteers who are really just accountants and bakers and janitors who wanted to go play Army. That is not the case, though. Within the Warsaw Pact, there’s no other army that’s more highly-trained and better equipped. And they’ll be making their way to the fields of Team Yankee tables next year.

Two New Tank Kits Available For Konflikt ’47 From Warlord Game

One thing with any “Weird War II” game is that you can take a lot of already-made equipment, just change them up a bit and boom! New piece. Well, Warlord Games certainly has their fair share of World War II pieces laying about the house, so coming out with figures for Konflikt ’47 can be as easy as just putting a new turret on an old tank. That’s what we’ve got here with the Soviet T-34/ZP and the Cromwell with Tesla Cannon.

Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish Core Rulebook Now Available

Back when Modiphius announced their Rise of the Black Sun Campaign for Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish, there was a question about the main rulebook for the game. Rise of the Black Sun Campaign Available For Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish

World War II was pretty horrific. All wars are. But at least there aren’t elder gods meddling with them… at least that we know of, anyway. Such is not the case in Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish. There, Hitler’s occult researchers have come across things that man really shouldn’t be tempering with. Now, the new weapons that the Black Sun have created are going to be unleashed upon the Allies. Will it drive them back out of Europe? That’s the question in Rise of the Black Sun, a new campaign book, that is now available over on the Modiphius website.
