I hope you made it through Black Friday alright. I had Thanksgiving 2: Thank Harder here at the bear den. Made myself another turkey and side-dishes and enjoyed a relaxing day. Then I got out my stock pot and made about a gallon of turkey stock with the bones. I’ll be good for turkey soup for the next year, I’d say.
But that’s as may be, it’s time for some reviews. Let’s get into it.
Today we have articles on: Magic the Gathering Arena of the Planeswalkers, Dirty Tactics Toolbox for Pathfinder, Battle Foam P.A.C.K Molle Accessories, Mafia de Cuba, Porta Nigra, Risk: Star Wars 2015 Edition, Flip City, Xia: Legends of the Drift System, and Doomtown Reloaded.
Sabol Designs is celebrating their 15th year having a huge holiday sale over in their webshop. We’ve had sales for minis, sales for paints, sales for terrain, we’ve just got pretty much all aspects of your hobby covered.
A lot of you will be hopefully getting minis this holiday season. I know I’ve had quite a few holidays where there were minis gifted to me. Those minis gotta be transported around properly. Battle Foam is here to help with that, and they’re having their own Black Friday sale.
Hello everyone and welcome to Sunday. It’s the start of my favorite week. Thanksgiving is coming up and I simply can’t wait. Sure, you may have your favorite holiday as Halloween or Christmas or Australia Day or whatever, and those are certainly all fine holidays. For me? It’s Thanksgiving. I only wish I had access to a professional kitchen.
But anyway, that’s Thursday. Currently, it’s Sunday. That means a few bite-sized stories to bring to you.

Is the week racing along for everyone else or is it just me? Hard to believe that it’s already Wednesday. Seems that we just started this week a couple days ago… Ok, so we did just start this week a couple days ago, but you know what I mean. What it does mean, though, is that we’ve got a midweek Snippets post for you.

I’ll be taking photos of a bunch of my figures, preparing to sell them off, as I need to make room for some other stuff coming in. Hey, if I’ve not played a game for ~5 years, and don’t really plan on getting back into it, it’s probably time to let someone else enjoy it.

Anyone get a chance to play some Age of Sigmar yet? If so, what’d you think?

If you are, I’m sure you’ll get to see these figures in their display case, but for the rest of us, we’ll just have to settle for studio photos. But hey, nothing wrong with studio photos of upcoming figures. So let’s take ourselves a look. There’s some Warmachine, some Hordes, and some new carrying cases to see.
You’ve made it to Friday. Congratulations!
You should reward yourself with some gaming. Or perhaps take in a movie. *opes the paper to see if anything good is playing right now* 😉

My Saturday was full of building the Eisenkern APC from DreamForge-Games. Expect the review of that kit later this week. Sneak Preview: There are 12 trooper minis inside the model. Each model is made up of about 11 pieces. So that’s well over 100 parts just for models inside the tank.

Even when I was younger and had a bit more disposable income than I do now, I always looked to reviews (mostly through my friends) to let me know if a game was worth picking up or not. Reviews are a vital resource so as to not end up with a new game/model that will just sit on your shelf, collecting dust, but instead see plenty of table time.
Here’s a list of reviews we found over this past week.
Read down to the bottom, if you wouldn’t mind, as I’ve got some questions for you and a contest as well.

From the campaign:
We’re Quentin and Dan, and we started making Hex Chests as stylish, personalized gifts for our friends to hold sets of Dungeons and Dragons dice. One day, Quentin’s girlfriend shared our work online. After generous feedback and requests from the Reddit community, we decided to use Kickstarter to help get us up and running at scale.
Hex chest come in “Beehive” and “Open” styles to store whatever it is you love most that fits in a 3-inch hexagonal box. We dedicate the same patience, care, and tenderness to our expanded process that we did for our friends. First, we hand-pick the lumber at a local yard, then carefully sand, polish, and finish the wood until it shines. We craft the basic shape on a CNC router, and finish them by hand to give them just the right mix of precision and art that you deserve.
