Playford Games is running a Kickstarter campaign for Capere, their abstract strategy game set during Rome’s civil wars. Players take control of their armies, set on the field of battle, and must outmaneuver one-another in order to gain an advantage. But the Roman gods are fickle and may decide to intervene for their chosen sides. Who will come away the victor and be in charge of one of the largest empires the world has ever seen?
From the campaign:
During the period of Rome’s bloody civil wars, a divided army fought for control of one of the mightiest empires on earth. Take sides in a game that balances skill and chance. Anticipate and plot your next moves, as you scheme to infiltrate and plunder enemy territory. Ambush and capture your opponents, but beware! Roman gods may take sides and intercede to seal your fate.
Capere is a 2 or 4 person game. Its rules are simple and can be mastered in one game. Each game averages 15 to 20 minutes. The playing strategies are infinite.
Capere is designed and modeled after the classics. It is destined to endure and there are absolutely no other games like it.
The Kickstarter campaign is up and running now. It’s set to go for another 28 days.
