Play Board Games has posted a review of the miniatures board game Battleship Galaxies.

From their website:

Battleship Galaxies is a scenario-based, miniatures wargame set in space. This game is tied to the Battleship franchise so does it float or sink?

I would say at the price of around or above $50.00 … it doesn’t look like you get enough to make it really worth it. The ships just from what you see in the review video look like they could be rebased and used as scenario ships for games like Firestorm Armada, etc. but at that price it really wouldn’t be worth it. Its a Hasbro game so its going to be very simplistic, fun for kids, boring for Wargamers.

      Have you played it?

It’s simple, and fun for me.

I liked the components and found the game mechanics pretty good, with the launch of new races which it hints at in the main game this could become really good.

Only niggle I had was the boards are not big enough, as soon as you get a mothership on the board its so big its hard to outrun it and therefor get taken apart quite easily.

Saying this, you do get two boards with the game , so even though a mission says one board can ignore and use the 2.

I do own and have played it 3 out of 5 for me.

Looked cool till I saw it in person. Everything just seemed kind of cheap and it was all so small. In pics it looked impressive, but in reality it lost lot of the neat factor and feels expensive for what you get. The painted ships are nice though.
