Battle Blokx: a new project on Kickstarter

Battle Blokx is a new project on Kickstarter! Go help them out!

Looks interesting:

Hey folks,

BATTLE BLOKX, is pleased to announce the launch of its Kickstarter project. For the past few months we have been working diligently to develop what may be the first building block style war-gaming terrain ever.

We designed them with 28mm gamers in mind, each BLOK is approximately 90mm square, with an average height of 32mm. The BATTLE BLOKX system is based around the BASIK BLOK which features a top lug, and a 30mm wide step detail that creates a “ladder” when stacked. All BATTLE BLOKX are supplied unpainted and easily accept glue so you can use them as a blank canvas for your own gaming masterpiece. Or you can simply prime them grey and start playing.

I may finally be backing my first Kickstarter project. 3.5 x 3.5″ square building block terrain to a guy who pretty much only plays Dust Tactics? Yes, please!

Thanks, DUST Tactics/Warfare compatibility is a big priority for us.

I asked on your blog, but I will here as well. Would you ever consider either adding a small dot or circle depression in the center of the tiles for Dust line of sight?

  • miah999

We’ve thought about that, but we’re a little worried about stepping on FFG or Dust Studio’s toes. If we decide to do it, we will announce it on the Kickstarter updates page, and it will probably take the form of a “small drain” detail.

By the let everyone on the FFG fourms know about this, I’d do it myself, but that feels too much like spam.

I’ll re-post this on the blog.

One concern I have is it doesn’t seem that the tiles interlock? So if I tiled a 3 x 4 or a 4 x 4, the “floor” tiles would kinda be floating around?

We’ve begun a FAQ on the Kickstarter page, your answers are there.

You guys should jump on the 3D printer idea too, they are not too far off, and your designs would work on models already available.
