Maelstrom Games has another BaneLegions preview for you today. This time it’s Chaagmuth the Jaw-Taker.

From the preview:

The second BaneLords release for September is simply chock-full of character and savagery – but what else can we expect from the sublime Benoît Cosse, who seems to go from strength to strength with each miniature he sculpts? Of course, Benoît could not have produced such an amazing sculpt without the stunning concept art by our old mate Stefan Kopinski who at present is working on some full-colour art for us. Intrigued? Stay tuned for a big announcement later on in August… for now, get a hold of this!

This range contains the most technically proficient but over the top ugly models around. Will they ever relax a little and make something nice? Everything is either way too busy (this one and most), awkwardly posed (that horrid bat dragon and their 6 legged lizard spearman come to mind) – have some quality control dudes! At these prices, you can’t afford to keep missing. Or, maybe they’ve all already been “reworked” so much they’re just awkward.

Your textures are great, your poses and aesthetics are stinky.

i dont know what you are smoking dude, this model is beautiful. its a character piece, it should standout and act as a centre piece for the army. i love it and although i dont always swoon over every model banelegion produces there models are amazing. i think this kind of comment after all the hard work blood sweat and tears that must go into creating, sculpting and casting these models is so disrespectful and more to the point there freaking great models. keep up the great work guys it is much appreciated.

Model looks great to me. Too busy? I’m not seeing that at all. You could quite easily take the banner off to simplify it though?

  • I really like this model – great character piece. The full range is a bit hit and miss for me although I can say the same about every manufacturer. Really like this one though.

  • I agree with the majority on this one. In fact, there haven’t been to many BaneLegion models I haven’t liked. They are expensive, but you seem to get what you pay for.
