Well the tribe has arrived back in Vancouver, we’re unpacked and the news has been posted. The site was notoriously unresponsive for quite a few days and it turns out the the culprit was the plugin that I use to cache the site and make it more responsive. The irony is not lost on me.

The developer is aware of the problem and is working on a fix but what that means is that TGN may be a bit slower to load for the foreseeable future. Even more so if you don’t log in to the site and are used to seeing cached content all the time. On the plus side the site hasn’t crashed in days. While we were on the road I used the WiFi hot spot at Starbucks to check the site on my iPad while we were in line for early morning coffees (isn’t technology grand?) and was quite thrilled to see that it had been up since my earlier tinkering.

The 2010 Reader’s Choice final results will be posted this evening and I will announce the 2010 Editor’s Choice Awards some time tomorrow.
