The readers of Tabletop Gaming News have an amassed gaming, painting and terrain making knowledge of so many years that it would only depress us if we tried to put a figure on our collective gaming age. 'Ask TGN' is a way for individuals to tap into that collective knowledge to answer questions they may have concerning the tabletop gaming hobby.

To help increase the changes of getting your question posted onto the site, we've come up with some guidelines that you should read before submitting it. Questions that stray from these guides will almost certainly end up in the TGN digital wastepaper basket.

    1. Questions should be related to the tabletop gaming hobby. As a reflection of TGN's content, this does not include pen and paper RPG's nor non-gaming collectors pieces
    2. Ensure you have a real question, if you just want to say your piece on a recent release then it would probably be better to just use the existing comment system
    3. Avoid local interest questions, whether your local club should play WW2 or Napoleonics next week is not general enough to interest more than a handful of readers
    4. No deliberate manufacturer/product bashing. This isn't the place to rant about something you don't like in the hobby
    5. Try to be as clear and concise as possible, whilst giving as many specifics as you can. This will help you receive more appropriate answers
    6. Try to ensure a good standard of spelling and grammar in your question. The less work we have to do, the more likely we are to post the question
    7. Please include hyperlinks to relevant websites where appropriate.

A couple of examples of what we think would be appropriate questions are:

"I'm thinking of running a pulp WW2 skirmish style game, I'd like to include zombies, werewolves and the like but I really don't know where to start. Could I get some suggestions on rulesets and which manufacturers to look at for 28 mm miniatures?"

"I'd like to paint freehand designs on the cloaks on my most heroic miniatures, does anyone have any tips or tutorials on this subject?"

The TGN staff reserve the right to edit questions for spelling, grammar and length. If you wish your question to be posted anonymously, please state this when you originally submit the question.
