Acheson Creations added a new “get it painted” option for their Super Robot StratoMaxx Kickstarter campaign.

From the update:

I’m excited to announce that the following painters have each agreed to custom paint a Super Robot StratoMaxx just for you!

Clawfreak (Jason Speth), Ersico (Eric Sorrells), Evilos (Christopher Charles Avalos), Mark Nagata, and Super_SandBagger (JR Deem).

Simply pledge $200.00 on the correct button and receive: One 13-inch tall Super Robot StratoMaxx resin figure kit (KK0806) consisting of one head, one torso, one jetpack, two arms, two fists, one sword, one pelvis, two legs, two feet, one 6-inch round base, choice of arm attachment (Cluster Light, Flame Burst, or U-87 Maser), a PDF of game stats to include this character in Kaiju Kaos – The Miniatures Game, Trooper-level appreciation, and the first unlocked Stretch Goal (Ragnarokk the Rokk Monster + game stats).

Your Super Robot StratoMaxx will be professionally painted by whichever artist you choose (first come, first serve).

Couldn’t you achieve the exact same paint job as in the picture by buying like 4 colors of Krylon, spraying the individual pieces, and then assembling the model? Are these painters promising something much nicer?

  • To be fair, if you look at the painters’ usual work, they take designer vinyl toys and paint them in wildly unique styles. If they took the same approach to this robot, you’d probably end up with something really special.

That is, if you’re into custom collectible vinyl toys.
