Tuesday. We're firmly into the work week now, with plenty of things to get done, thanks to Gen Con just over a week away. So, while I'll be typing up press releases and articles, I'll be listening to some gaming podcasts as I go.
This week on the dial we have: Morrus' Unofficial Tabletop RPG Talk Episode 57: The Expanse Role Playing Game; Chance of Gaming Episode 34; Meeples & Miniatures Episode 272: The Joy of Six; Rolling Dice & Taking Names Episode 175: Brikks, Dark Domains, Point Salad, Mountains, Dragon’s Breath, Curios; The Secret Cabal Episode 187: Heroes of Land Air and Sea, Gaia Project and a Short Topic Extravaganza; Singled Out Episode 91: Talking Snowflakes With Beard; Tabletop Talk Episode 31: Malifaux Expert Round Table with Doxey, Bynum and Varney; and Blue Peg, Pink Peg Episode 151: Flip, Roll & Write Suite.

Back from vacation and not well rested, but ready to talk about games once again. Marty tells me all about some games he played while I was away on vacation and the great reactions he got when he put them on the table. All them sounded fun, but one stood out that grabbed my attention, Dark Domains. It is a worker placement that provides a twist where you must be careful because the more evil you become, the more the heroes are out to get you. After I got to play, this game is an onion with tons of layers waiting to be discovered.
As a special treat, my wife, Donna, joins me to talk about Stronghold’s game Brikks. We played this a bunch while on vacation. You can tell we are a bit sleep deprived because we go on and on during this segment. But as a bonus, Donna ranks her favorite Roll and Writes that are in the house. Hope you appreciate this and let us know so I can have her come back on for a future review.
Finally, the episode has information on how to get our first ever Promo card. This is being provided by our buddy Ignacy. He has designed a card that you can use in Portal’s upcoming game Empires of the North. We are honored that he did this and we really do appreciate it.
Enjoy the episode and hope to see some of you at Gen Con.
It's Wednesday again and the gang is back for more Cabal nonsense. Unfortunately, Jamie is still under the weather with a not so great voice but that doesn't stop the Cabal from rolling. Steve takes over the announcer role today so I hope you enjoy the temporary change. In today's episode we give feature review to Heroes of Land Air and Sea from Gamelyn Games featuring two special guest reviewer, Don and AC. Then we look back at one of our favorite games, Gaia Project from Z-Man games. After Tony T finally gets his audio equipment back up and running, give throws some wild news your way followed by another Short Topic Extravaganza including Kickstarter projects with flaws, teaching your kids to game and Love, Death + Robots.
In this episode Andrew talks to bears about the snowflake index, and then about the LONDON GRAND TOURNAMENT that you SHOULD ALL GO TO.
Join Craig and his guests Jamie Varney, Stephen Bynum and James Doxey as they share advice on becoming a better player, the state of M3e and even take questions from the listeners. This may be the meatiest episode we’ve every recorded. You will want to listen twice to not miss a thing.
During this week’s episode:
1) The Pegs talk with Isaac Childress as they anounce the winner in their #exoticgloomhaven contest;
2) Discuss Charcon 2019 along with their recent game plays including Blood on the Clocktower, Star Wars: Outer Rim, Inuit and many more; and
3) All the Pegs review several flip, roll & writes including Lanterns Dice, Rolled West, and Cartographers.
