The Congress of the United Realms has decided that all forms of destructive magic are now illegal. While that might seem good on first glance, the act has caused a mad dash as various groups are looking to collect any sort of item, trinket, or widget that might cause such magic. This has created a huge black market, with the collectors hiring Runerunners to get the goods. That's where you find yourself in Runerunners, a new board game from Gangfight Games that's up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
Runerunners is a tabletop board game designed for two or more players. The object is to form a team of adventurers to explore Sanctuary City and collect as much loot as possible. The more you can find, the bigger your reward! You can acquire loot by exploring and investigating, or stealing from enemies who area also on the job.
Characters are picked randomly, and the board tiles are modular and can be arranged in a variety of different ways so no game map ever needs to be the same! Each hero has unique abilities to help them explore, find treasures or defeat your foes. Gameplay and combat is quick and fun, and you have the option of setting up your own custom games, or following along in a story-driven campaign where your teams grow in size and strength over time.
The campaign is up and running now and is set to go for another 25 days.
