“What goes around, comes around.” “You reap what you sow.” “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” “Don’t be an ass.” “You brought this upon yourself.” Basically, all of those say much the same thing. The way you act and treat others is going to come back to you. Karma, a storytelling game that’s up on Indiegogo now, has that same sort of “cosmic balance” thing going on with it.

Being able to laugh at one’s self is important. None of us are perfect, individually, or as a group. And so, taking a tongue-in-cheek jab at ourselves is sometimes warranted. That’s just what Le Neckbeard, a new card game up on Kickstarter, does.

The folks over at Wyrd do their best to make our lives better. One way they do that is by giving us previews on Mondays. Because, let’s face it, Mondays aren’t generally considered that great. So any help they can get is good. So, let’s check out some new artwork that’s coming.

If there’s one thing that the space battles in Star Wars taught us, it’s never underestimate the power of a fighter squadron. X-Wings and a light cruiser take out the Death Stars. An A-Wing crashing takes out the Executor. Squadrons of fighters can really swing a battle in your favor. And getting those fighters to the front are various larger ships, such as the Imperial Light Carrier, coming soon to Star Wars: Armada.

Well, I’m back in the office. The tub was fixed. The carpet’s been cleaned. And while I certainly can do what I need from basically anywhere with an internet connection, it’s good to get back to the regular routine. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit. It’s also my habit on Mondays to tell you about terrain articles I’ve come across. So let’s do that.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: ITS Scenery Set Available From Micro Art Studio, Axolote Tiles 3: Fantasy Realms Up On Kickstarter, and Badlands Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame.

Many of you are not just gaming fans, but you’re also sports fans. I know the cliche is that us nerds don’t know anything about sports, but that’s really not the case. There are many sports games out there that have come and gone, some sadly so. Well, one’s getting a rebirth in a new form. Clutch Baseball is coming out this month. Build your team, make your strategy deck, and swing for the fences.

You know, as I’ve gone on in my gaming career, I’ve more-and-more found myself drawn to skirmish games. Not that I think there’s anything inherently bad or wrong with large-army games. They’re just not really for me, anymore. So when I see that Games Workshop has started taking orders for a new skirmish form of Age of Sigmar, I take notice. Along with the book, they’re also taking orders for various warbands.

Well, it’s almost like the week is getting back on schedule, even though it’s Saturday. I woke up. I got groceries. I’m now typing up the Review Roundup in my living room while listening to music and contemplating the rest of my day. Sort of nice to get things back to how they should be. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit. Anyway, as it’s Saturday, it’s time to get you those review articles I know you all so desperately desire. So let’s get to it.

Today we have: Knot Dice Deluxe, Via Nebula, Lords of Hellas, 12 Realms: Dungeonland, 1754 Conquest: The French and Indian War, Star Realms: Colony Wars and United Expansions, Tournament of Towers, Manhattan Project: Energy Empire, Tesla vs. Edison: Duel, Balloon Pop, Terra Mystica App, Star Trek Panic, Sagrada, Yokohama, Ravage: Dungeons of Plunder, and EXIT: The Game – The Secret Lab.

Things like Google Glass look to blur the line between the real and the digital world. While we’re still a couple years from truly integrating the two seamlessly, in settings like The Veil, it’s an everyday thing. And in the new supplement, Cascade, you can further bring the two together as part of your missions. The book is up on Kickstarter now.

Man, what a weird week. Sunday was the last day of Expo. Monday was spent partially at the repair shop for my car, and then finding out my bathtub was leaking. The rest of the week has been working from home, waiting for repairmen, dealing with paint and fiberglass fumes, and now I’m taking some time between stories to do some deep cleaning around this place. I’m more-than-ready for the next weekend. To make sure I have enough energy to get there, let’s nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Brigade Models Releases New 15mm Terminator and Squadron Commander Fighters, Acheson Creations Release Indian Rhino, New Blood Drops Wound Markers Available From Kromlech, Z-Man Games Updates Components for Ricochet Robots, Victoria Miniatures Resin BFG Sledgehammer Crew and female Officer Now Shipping, and Brigade Models Release New EuroFed Spaceships.

This month brings you quite a lot of releases from CMON. There’s a new robot fighting game (so you know I’m on board). There’s a new worker-placement game (again, right up my alley). Whenever you sit down for your RPG session, you want to have the right minis for the right situation. At least, I do my best to always have the proper mini to represent the enemies and NPCs out there. “Yeah, it’s all goblin minis, but they’re really giant spiders” isn’t as fun, if you ask me. Well, the folks at WizKids and Paizo feel much the same way. That’s why they’ve come out with their Crown of Fangs miniatures set for Pathfinder Battles.

A couple of my friends have gotten deep into Runewars. They feel the game flows fairly well and plays rather smoothly. I’ve yet to really have a chance to give it a go (so many games, so little time… *sigh*). For those that were waiting for the game to get a few more miniatures out onto the shelves before they dove in, there’s some new releases available now, for both the Daqan Lords and Undead.

That’s the theme behind Turf War Z, a new miniatures game that’s up on Kickstarter now.

A good friend of mine used to be a combat engineer. That is to say that he blew up bridges for a living for a while. In the Star Wars universe, the Rebellion especially needs members who are force-equalizers like that, willing to go and take out the enemy’s ability to fight and get around. That’s where Sappers and such come in. And if you play the Star Wars RPG from Fantasy Flight, you can make your character into one of those with the Fully Operational sourcebook.
