Having recently gone through moving the offices here, I can certainly understand how it’d cause a delay with products going out. Add to that a bit of resculpting, and you can see why it’s been a bit since we’ve heard from Megalith Games and Godslayer. Well, the moves are done and the resculpts are completed, so you can get yourselves the new Banebrood Skulleaters.

Don’t you just hate when you miss out on a Kickstarter? All those stretch goals and exclusives, along with the great deal that’s to be had. Well, thankfully, the Kickstarter, itself, isn’t the only time you can get that stuff. Late Pledges are often available for games. One such is Vampire Hunters, the cooperative game where you… well… you hunt vampires. You can join in on it now.

The American Football Season is still quite a ways away. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be getting some gridiron action going. Or, at least, you’ll be able to soon, as Bombshell Games has started taking pre-orders for Techno Bowl.

Well, it’s part preview, part designer’s diary. The article, written by game designer Jon Cohn, gives us a look at the philosophy behind the creation of King of the Creepies. That philosophy starts with bad puns and dad jokes. It then builds up from there.

You know, one of the things I love about Smash Up is just seeing what factions they come out with next. Just when you think they’ve covered everything, another quartet of absurd yet awesome groups are announced. The latest set, What Were We Thinking?, adds Teddybears, Grandmas, Rock Stars, and Explorers. It’s available now.

When writing rules for a game, you want to do your best to make sure they’re clear and uncomplicated. Sometimes, a part of a rule sounds good, and you don’t necessarily want to cut it, but you find that it’s just not quite in the theme or style you want for the game. That’s not to say they’re necessarily bad. They’re just not quite what the overall game needs in the main rulebook. They’re the “deleted scenes” of the game. Well, Warlord Games has posted up these rules on their website for you to check out and possibly add to the game if you and your opponent want.

    Ah, Camelot.
It might be a silly place (where you sing from the diaphragm a lot), but it’s still full of wonders and spectacle. One such spectacle takes the form of tournaments, where knights look to show their prowess in combat against one-another. But, seeing as Merlin is never far away, there’s certainly magic afoot during the events. Participants will have to learn to use it to the best of their abilities, along with more traditional fighting implements such as swords and arrows, if they want to win.
That’s the story behind Tournament at Camelot, a new card game coming soon from WizKids

While blasters and lightsabers are certainly at the forefront of many people’s minds when they think about what they want their Star Wars characters to specialize in, some players take a bit of a different approach. They’re more interested in letting their words be the main focus. It’s not necessarily a passive path, just a different one. For those that like to play such characters, you’ll be interested in the upcoming Disciples of Harmony sourcebook for the Star Wars RPG.

When you think of the Guardians of the Galaxy, I’m willing to say it’s a pretty safe bet that you’re thinking of Groot and Rocket Raccoon. While Star Lord may be the leader, and Drax and Gamora certainly have their parts to play, the dynamic duo of a talking (kind of) tree and murderous raccoon are what I, at least, think of when I think of the group. Well, with the new movie coming out, there’s going to be new versions of those characters. In this preview, we get a look at what Rocket Raccoon is going to be like.

You all know I’m a big fan of items that can help GMs along in their mission of making a good game for their players. Pre-made adventures, maps, and other materials can really cut down the prep-time needed to run a game. Well, J. over at PenguinComics is making it so your sci-fi games are ready to go at a moment’s notice. They’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign for a set of Sci-Fi Mini-adventure cards, as well as aids for coming up with sci-fi corporation names, NPC names, and more.

Here we are, once more, at Tuesday. It seems that Monday was a really bad one for many of my friends. So here’s to making Tuesday not so bad. Also, here’s to hoping the week goes by quickly and smoothly for everyone so we can get back to the joy that is the weekend. To help things go by, listening to some gaming podcasts is a good idea.

This week we have: The Cardboard Herald Episode 20: Andrew Birkett of Atheris Games, Singled Out Episode 28: Talking Season 3 Engineers with Pash, Epic Gaming Night Podcast Episode 98: Replayabilty, Meeples & Miniatures Episode 201: Geek Nation Tours revisited, Primecast Episode 42, and Game Classy Episode 135: Adepticon 2017.

Back when I read comics, I was an X-fan. I mostly read X-Factor, but since I also read Wolverine, so that means I read some X-Men as well. And, of course, I watched the cartoon as well. As such, I’ve always been more a Marvel fan than a DC fan. So, even though I don’t read comics anymore, I still get excited when I see new Marvel products come out. In this case, it’s the X-Men edition of Munchkin.

Yes, the crime lord is coming to X-Wing. No, he’s not got his own starfighter or anything like that. He’s a crew member (well, technically two crew members) that can greatly increase the efficiency of your other upgrades.

There’s rampaging dinosaurs on the cover. So I’m certainly interested in what this adventure has in store. The Folio #14 is an adventure that’s compatible with both 1E AD&D as well as 5th Edition (plus, is easily transferable to other rules sets). Players will have to deal with the aforementioned dinosaurs, as well as a cursed ship and an evil Necromancer (are there any really good necromancers out there?). The book is up on Kickstarter now.

It’s about to get really warm here in Georgia. We’ve had a mild winter, and I can only imagine what the summer’s going to be like. Best to think about colder times. Though, when thinking about them, not letting your mind be melted into insanity by Great Old Ones is probably a good idea. That’s what you’ll have to try and avoid in Cold Warning, a new adventure for Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition that’s up on Kickstarter now.

Cavalry has long been an important part of warfare. And it’s not just standing armies that relied on it. While pirates might not be known for their horsemanship, the bandits and gangs that worked along the costs certainly could use it well. Ok, so I didn’t go to Adepticon, and that’s sad. However, it’s Monday morning and I’ve got no “convention hangover” and no long-ass drive/flight home and no Con Crud to worry about. So, it has its upsides as well. It would seem that much of my Friend’s list isn’t so lucky. But while they down extra pots of coffee to stay awake or extra gallons of orange juice to cure themselves, they can check out ways to make their gaming tables look great.

Today in the terrain corner we have: New Infinity Inc Battle Mat From Warzone Studio, City Ruins Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, Deep-Cut Studio releases Wild West themed game mat, and New British Defenses from Sally 4th.

At a quick glance, the world of Dhovaine might look a lot like our “average world” we live in now. However, start looking deeper and you’ll start to see the differences. Technology is just a bit ahead of where we’re at now. What’s more, there’s strange, unknown technology scattered around the globe. Technology from a previous time that we’ve yet to fully figure out. Try as we might, some of it just doesn’t seem to work the way we think it should. Oh, and the massive, black orb in the sky. There’s that, too.
The Dhovaine RPG book is up on Kickstarter now.

Games go through new editions all the time (heck, I dubbed last year the “Year of New Editions” since it seemed a new one was coming out almost weekly). Well, when a system gets changed, any sort of supplemental material for it must also be updated. That includes things like settings for game systems. That’s just what’s happening with Arcanis. It was originally made back in 2001, but with the update to 5th Edition, it’s getting an overhaul as well. And that’s up on Kickstarter now.

There’s a lot of shady characters out there. Some are just “more out for themselves than anyone else,” while others are downright evil (or were programmed that way). They use all sorts of underhanded tactics in order to get ahead. In Star Wars: Destiny, this translates to many surprises for your opponent or tough choices during combat. Get a look at some of the villainous yellow cards in this preview.

In a distant future in a faraway solar system, you go about your everyday life. But something just doesn’t… feel… right. You’re sometimes hit by a sense that you don’t really belong there. Like you had another life that you’ve seemingly forgotten. Then, one day, you realize that you know some others who share that same sense. You have a little laugh about it, but then you come to find out that those notions are true. You really did have a life previous to the one you’re living. A life in a relative paradise. Now you want to try and get back to it, and a strange entity known as the Envoy is willing to help, for a price.
That’s the story behind Exilium, a new sci-fi RPG that’s up on Kickstarter now.

Many, many, many times I have said it’s great for a game to have two-player starter sets. With one purchase, you can get yourself everything you need to get going right away with a game (except for maybe needing some glue). Well, with the latest releases for Dark Age, they, too, now have a 2-player starter set. They’re also heading over to plastic for this new group of minis. The starter and several new releases are available now.
